phil-lol! Its like a really bad time machine of showing the future.

I consider an orphan very different than creating a child through IVF. An orphan needs someone and is already here. I think she did it just because she was lonely and wanted a companion. Unfortunately if she doesnt live long enough or in good enough her daughter will suffer because of it. If she was lonely she needed to find another outlet.

There's elderly foster parents and lots of grandmas and great grandmas raising grandkids, but I can't imagine any woman planning and having their own child at age 67. It's hard for me in my fifties to take care of grandchildren. The mom is really trying to seem younger though by dressing stylishly and dying her hair. I hope she lives to be really old and stays healthy.

As bad as Steven looks lol, I think his wig looks better than the one the child's mother is wearing--I think she needs bangs!

I agree with you. She could have adopted. Isn't she living in Romania where there are older orphans she could adopt or better yet volunteer in one of these orphanages? Why would she go through this procedure at such an old age and what doctor would assist her to get so much publicity for her and himself.. I too am a grandmother and after I take care of my little grandchildren I kick back and take a break. My husband and I love them but we know our limitations. For grandparents who step up to the plate if their grandchildren are abandoned by their parents, my hats are off to them. As a teacher I have seen these motivated grandparents keep siblings together and give the children a chance to grow up together. Anyhow this woman is an entirely different case. Is she in Ripley's or Guinness Book of records? I pray her little girl will be ok. A few posters have already mentioned that it was hard growing up with older parents.

The child's mother.
This is wrong and there should be a law against it and I want to know what is going on with her wig aswell.

Yeah. She needs to retire from the hair styling for sure. She messed up herself and the kid's hair too. The little girl's bangs are just chopped off, too short and uneven. Mom did them. LOL.

She should have just gotten herself a poodle!

From Carpe Diem's link:

"If my daughter is 16 by then, she will have the right to work," she said.

"If she is younger, my hope is in two things, the state child protection services, and my doctor Prof Bogdan Marinescu, who is her godfather.

"People can die at any time. Eliza's other godfather, who is a friend, died suddenly at the age of 49, leaving four children."

But she hopes Eliza will not repeat her mistakes.

"I would advise my daughter to have a child before she is 30," she said.

Knowing a thing or two about Romanian orphanages, this scares the heck out of me. If this woman croaks I sure hope she has something solid in place for this little girl. Doesn't sound like it too much though. Even if she'd be old enough to work she'd have a hell of a life over there being young and on her own. Romania is still very much 'behind the iron curtain-ish'. That would seriously worry me.

On the other hand, I love this woman... at least now I don't feel so bad about having a baby at 39.
