Pictures of the Karr Family Christmas of 1996 Have Been Found

  • #261
Why would she keep photos of a man she divorced, who she does not like and who was charged with child porn offences,

if she threw them all away to me it does not matter, if she recalls christmas 96 and the events and him being there that is fine by me,

she was not isolated so others will be able to say if he was there also,

seems for now she is still sure, her alibi for him will only be proved a pile of hooey if her credibility is impeached or physical evidence places him at the scene,

we shall see how it all pans out,

he himself may do a 180 and suddenly say I lied, I am not quite right in the head etc

Why didn't Boulder do all this investigating before this Media circus? What a bunch of BS
My sentiments exactly. But Boulder is desperate to wipe the egg off their faces so that's why they were so eager to jump the gun. I'm hoping that they don't just go with the flow of Karr's claims just to wipe that egg off. I hope they totally investigate Karr's claims enough to feel confident that he is indeed the perp before taking him to trial, etc. I'm also hoping that there aren't being "evidentiary gymnastics" being conducted in order to "make" him fit the role of the perp. I want to see the guilty party convicted (whomever that may be)....not a conviction just for the sake of having a conviction to try to restore the credibility of an investigative team. There is truth to the theory that some (not all but some) prosecutors don't care WHO they convict as long as they convict.

i agree Daisy....placing him in Boulder & a DNA match is what i'm waiting for...until then, this is just plain crazy...

Love_Mama, no, I don't think I would. My first priority would be to make sure I kept my sanity. I would realize that, that beyond a certain point, I couldn't do anything more, and would have to trust that LE would do their job. Not everyone who loses a child is meant to, or able to, go on a crusade, working to change laws, or join MADD. Some are meant to contribute to this world in other ways. There isn't any set way to act after the death of a loved one, especially a very young loved one. I can't, based on the piss-poor performance of the Boulder PD, fault the Ramseys for anything they did, or didn't do, in this situation. Who is to say, that any of us in their very shoes, may have done exactly the same thing. Fortunately, never having gone through something this dramatic, I can't specifically say what I would have done, or wouldn't have done, but I can say that I would know that I had to protect my welfare and sanity above everything else, because all of us know that something like this can easily push any of us to the brink, and the last thing we would want is to be indirectly accused of being responsible for the crime, while we are trying to deal with the loss. If an attorney serves that purpose, then so be it.

Buzz........I wasn't in anyway knocking you. I love you! You're a kind person. I think you love your child...or children? I also agree with you that the very first thing I'd do is get an attorney.........particularly if it was YOUR child that was murdered, so no blame there on the Ramseys!

What I mean is that I think you and I and almost everyone here would be extremely cooperative with police because anything else just doesn't make sense......and yes....the police screwed everything up if you were parents (and wern't guilty) you'd be screaming at the top your voice to let the public know what you thought of the police force...hire private dectives, take a lie detector test etc. etc. etc.

Now.......John Ramsy had a great deal of money and he had a lot of friends in the right places. Did he ever once get together a Press Conference .....easy for him to do.....and tell them what he thought of the police! I'd have done that. You see, money talks........but in the Ramsey Case they simply hid behind their attorneys....and really what happened is that they left the world guessing! I think that was the intent from the beginning.

Buzz, I would LOVE to be wrong!

lhl, you guys don't have to eat crow unless the Ramseys are proven to be innocent; we have to eat crow if they are proven to be guilty.

i don't think either one will happen...

Actually the Prosecution and the Courts have an obligation to make sure nutballs are not confessing to crimes they didnt commit. They are responsible to determine they have the guilty person. If they neglect that responsibility that allows actual perps to run free comitting more crimes while nutballs serve their time.

true, true....

I especially like the option of "refuting" that he was home that Christmas. Looks like she's thinking about hanging him out to dry.

i think it sounds like she's just trying to do the right thing....she says she can't remember a xmas w/o him there, so she's trying to find 'proof' either way.....

>>So he was very close to his family and was always there for them? When was the last time his family heard from him or actually saw him? Anyone know?<<

I believe that I have read that the restraining order was for 3 years. Yes, found a source:

Who is John Mark Karr?

"In November of that year, a judge issued a restraining order for Karr to stay at least 100 yards away from his ex-wife and children — ages 8, 9 and 10 at the time — for three years, the AP said."

I'm wondering if the man really loved his children and was brokenhearted about the prospect of not being near his children for 3 years? I suppose that his chatter about JBR led people to believe he was a loose canon. Also, it is possible that Lara had some threats from him, thus leading her to seek advice per the restraining order. However, I "think" I read that someone in LE advised her to get the restraining order due to whatever. I don't want to bother looking up that source, so I can't prove that.

I would be curious to know if he has been in touch with the children at all? If it was possible for him to be, i.e. how would he get mail to them if he did not know their address?

I would also be curious to know about how he interacted with his children.

Can I ask why you are being so smart-aleck and argumentative with me? Everything I post, you jump on me for it.
EVERY post?

Look, if you have an opinion in an argument or discussion or debate, you have to be able to readily defend it and not expect to just say something and not have it sit there unquestioned. You've made your mind up about this case and I've made my mind up about the case. I made my mind up because I have a unfortunate background in dealing with people as f**ked up as JMK and know when they're lying when I see it. I have no idea what you're basing your decision.

Do the airlines and rental car agencies have their records from ten years ago? What city in Alabama would he have departed from and were there direct flights to Denver? But who knows what schedule they had back then. And a passenger wouldn't have had to use all the ID they now must carry. The car rental company would've required a drivers license, but...back to the original question, do these companies still have the records from 1996? The suspect has said he was in Colorado. If the DNA matches, then he was there.
:o
God, yes they keep their records for decades. If you ever had a wreck in a rental car, you know that.

Contol freak or you just don't want your children to have any pictures of you with their children?
Since I don't have biological children, its a mute question. Now, my SISTERS and BROTHERS and IN-LAWS might have pictures of me with the family during Xmas. In fact, I know they do. But I rarely have any of myself unless someone else takes the camera for a snap or two.

Yes, I've been thinking exactly that. Whoever tends to be the picture taker in any family is frequently absent from the pictures themselves. I think that his absence from the pictures is meaningless.

I'm not usually in a lot of pictures, but that's because I usually take them. However, I know that my SIL & BIL have been a every Christmas get-together we've had, but I'm sure I don't have pictures of them (at least not at all of them). I just no that they never missed a Christmas. I also think this whole picture thing is meaningless. His family says he was there...the DA will have to prove otherwise.

I think this guy is just a fruitcake (a sick one). He wasn't anywhere near JonBenet except in his mind...after this all hit the news. I heard someone on one of the news channels say that his family members are denying what he is saying as true...when it comes to the party in Boulder and something about a wedding. They all say they were not in Boulder (or Colorado) with him.

As much as I'd like this to be the guy...I don't think it is. I can see him saying he had a chat with Princess Diana yesterday. :(

Don't forget that she despised her ex and never wants to see him again.

I have very few photos of my ex. They weren't the ones I tended to keep when sorting through my photos.

  • #278
Wenchie, I understand what you are saying but his ex-wife claimed to have a PROOF that he was with her on Christmas 96. So far I haven't seen it. They attorney I heard last night said the picture they have is of his 3 sons, NOT HIM.

IN 1996 couldn't one fly under just about any name?

How exactly does this play out.

"Honey, I ah, got to go somewhere..."

"On Christmas Eve?"

"Well, you know how it is.."

What wife is letting her husband go anywhere around that time?

Maybe an emergency Teach Signal flashed in the sky.
