Pictures of the Karr Family Christmas of 1996 Have Been Found

Someone a few pages back mentioned that the children would remember if he had been there.


His oldest would have only been 4 at the time so I doubt that would be very credible or even if a 4 year old would remember accurately what happend 10 years later.

Ams, His children were 6, 4 and 3 at the time. Still too young IMO to remember. If I asked my son who is 5 where we were for Christmas last year he would not remember and he has a FANTASTIC memory. BTW, Karr's brothers attorney said yesterday that a picture was going to be released today, anyone see it yet?

To be quite honest, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if SHE has no photos of him considering the fact that they were divorced and apparently she hadn't heard of him or from him since then.

Then she shouldn't have said she would produce one. Both her and his brother said he would produce one and so far we haven't seen one, but only heard of one where Karr is not even in the picture.

i have thought back about my last 30 christmases since i have been married. while i cannot remember off-hand whether i was home or visiting parents/family/inlaws for a specific year, i can sure remember the years my husband was not with me at christmas. i think a mother with young children would surely remember if her husband and the children's father was not with them on this important holiday. 1996 is only 10 years ago for goodness sakes. if i was on the jury and heard her testify that she thought he was with them, or rather did not remember him not being there, i would believe that he was with the family and therefore did not kill jon benet.

I'm with you, Izzy. A husband missing at Christmastime, especially if you have young children, is an event most wives would remember.

This inability to place him in Colorado - to know that he was there that night - is what confuses me about this arrest. I would want that info sewn up before I arrested someone....but I think I read that his arrest was rushed due to several reasons.

In any event, I expect his story will continue to unravel slowly but surely.

This makes it even MORE absurd. The brother would have certainly said something if he'd been close friends with the Ramseys, or had even known them in some CASUAL WAY - AS WOULD the Ramsey's have.

I'm certainly that EVERY SINGLE PERSON who attended that Christmas party was tracked down and interviewed in the weeks after the murder. It was a party of their FRIENDS: a party that about 30 people attended!

It's absolutely amazing that this has gone this far without the DA's investigators doing even a cursory check of Karr's background and activities.

Huge waste of time...maybe they needed something to jump a strong news cycle. Of course, good things can spring from silly mistakes. Perhaps all of this renewed interest in the case will lead to the arrest of the real murderer(s).

I believe it was the first day of his arrest. This is why I keep asking, where are the pictures??? She hasn't said it since that first day, it then became, she'll look. But the brother too said he was going to go on Greta the day after the arrest with the proof and we haven't heard from him since, and now he has an attorney.

I could be. There is so much information coming out that I am very confused. The brother hasn't produced a picture though.

MrsMush, I agree about the confusing part with the flood of information. I posted about this yesterday but I will ask you. Have you seen the home video of JMK where he is so camera shy that he trying to cover his face with a pair of shorts to keep from being filmed? After seeing that It wouldn't surprise me that he avoided the camera during family functions.

The party story is bizarre...but remember, this guy is nuts, IMO. I don't think he knows the difference between what happened in his mind vs. what really happened.

You're right...I do think it is amazing that they didn't do a cursory check of his background and activities before jumping into this the way they did.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out...I can't imagine the DA's office dragging this along indefinately...or at least I don't think they will.

Wenchie, you said there were only about 30 people present? If that's the case, certainly those present at the party would remember who was there. Boulder LE probably has a good idea who was there, too.

IMO Karr is delusional. It's been said that he's intelligent. Mental illness has no intelligence boundaries.

I agree with you.there are too many stories coming out, nor do I think this family is mistaken, I am saying it happens is all. My dh isn't absent minded or dull. He just completely forgot that I missed a Thanksgiving years ago.
To be honest with you, I cannot swear that he has been with me every Christmas. He may have gone to visit his mother one year..truly cannot remember.

I guess we have such a small family that it's not hard to keep track of everyone. But I can see how some people would not know exactly who was there each year.
