so, JB is all over the news talking today and he never has mentioned this incredible lead and discovery? not one word? (I can't watch any videos at work right now) if anyone heard anything would you fill me in, TIA.

I wonder if good ole Todd Black, the very elusive PR guy jumped the gun on this one? The story came from him, not JB. this Todd guy doesn't strike me as the smartestor most competent PR man in the world, I wonder if he made one major boo boo, letting the story out. I bet he was just supposed to say that the PI's were 'following up an out of state lead' or something like that. Oh, I can't wait to hear what kind of spin is put on this if the picture does not appear, or will they just hope everyone forgets about it?

Ok...I am still struggling to get through all the posts on the first thread, most of which do not even address the topic so I have several questions, if anyone would be so kind as to try to fill me in:

1. Where does it say that this person has not already provided the picture to LE? Perhaps the defense had to track him down because they just found out about the picture through documents they obtained in their examination of evidence.

2. Why is everyone saying that it was taken by a stranger or a tourist? I could not find that in the article anywhere? Several of the "players" in this mess are now "men who live out of state", and several of them could have been unavailable for periods of time due to their military assignments, jobs, or attempts to avoid association with this case in general.

3. Where in the article does it state that LE did not accompany the defense PI, or that the FBI in that state is not involved, or that local LE in that state is not involved? It seems as usual that many things are being assumed and then jumped on and rammed down the chute as if they are indeed "fact".

4. It also seems plausible that someone long ago gave the picture to LE, and after seeing no information in the press or from the family, that they finally realized the family had not been told about the picture, and that the person in possession of that picture felt that it should be disclosed to them.

I'm afraid it was me that started that line of thought. :( I was speculating as to why it took weeks to track the person down, but your point #4 makes much more sense. In fact, all of your points are spot on.

That's what would happen if there really was a photo.
Lanie

Or, that's what would happen if Baez and his pr guy weren't scrambling to pull rabbits out of hats. If I see it, I'll believe it, maybe.

OK, not sure if this has been mentioned or not because I have not read the first thread on this. But why have they not turned this over to the police to research and so they can send the detectives there to investigate this? Or the FBI even since it is out of state and since they are involved now as well?

Why Private eyes? This sounds corny to me. I believe if they are supposed to be truely looking for Caylee the police or FBI would be the first set of eyes they want on this person. This sounds like it is probably a fake tip if you ask me.

So reckon they are still looking out of state for her?

Ok, there was no more info. other than that little blip yesterday. Yes, I think it is one of Jose's hat tricks too.

If LE had a picture of Casey, Caylee and ZG I think it would have been released to the public (HAVE YOU SEEN THIS WOMAN? SHE IS A KIDNAPPING SUSPECT).
when Casey first reported her child missing.

Do u think they will make it public?

Unless Baez is fantasizing about having a Perry Mason 'Aha!' moment in a courtroom, there's no benefit in withholding a piece of evidence that could exonerate his client.

I would think if they had a picture that would somehow prove the existence of a kidnapper, Todd Black would be working his dialing fingers to the bone calling the runners of every TV show that's covering the story.

In a missing persons case that goes to trial, the first thing that has to be established is that even though there is no body that the person is indeed dead. This is an attempt at reasonable doubt. That Caylee could be out there and alive in the hands of this ZFG. The worst thing that could happen (at least for defense purposes) would be for this pic to go public. Or for the pic to get to LE with enough time for them to follow up on it.

So they send their own private PI to check it out. And they will probably give it to LE right before the trial. Then they will tell the jury that the PI was unable to locate, or they will give them a pic taken from back of three people, they will tell the jury that LE refused to investigate. What they are looking for is to instill reasonable doubt in the investigation.

But if they want to participate in discovery the rules say they must reciprocate, which means they too must turn over evidence to the other side or it will be inadmissable.

I don't think Baez knows too much about the law. I fail to see how withholding a picture of the "real" ZFG is helping in tracking down Caylee. That picture should be out there along with Caylee picture to help find Caylee. The withholding of this photo tells me that this is, indeed, all about Casey and no one gives a c*** about Caylee. Except strangers, of course. moo
