i guess this is the appropriate forum for this possibly good news. I just seen on CNNs site that the University Of TN is doing research on how plants react to human decomp nearby to where they are growing as a way to help search for buried bodies. Things such as nitrogen levels released in the soil can change the way plants nearby appear. This is great news and a possible breakthrough to help with cold cases.

Interesting i will take a look, i remember years ago watching TV and a detective said he could tell the most likely place a body was buried because of the trees ect, iirc the trees or bushes over the body would stand out as a different colour among the others on the same land i think they were a much darker green although i dont remember exactly i just remember thinking its fascinating as he was explaining it.

So i looked at the article and it didnt say what the changes looked like but it made a good point about distinguishing between dead animals that may be under the plants that could be an issue.

This is fascinating! Thank you for sharing! Definitely a branch of science that will hopefully be investigated more and could definitely help in solving crimes!
