He's going to be in with Chad Daybell according to this article.

The prison also have Gerald Pizzuto and Thomas Eugene Creech. They are notorious serial killers.

Bryan Kohberger is going to regret his plea deal and cannot appeal it. It will be a shock of his life.

To clarify, this is what Hippler said in court on Wednesday at the beginning:

"I, like most everyone else, learned of this plea agreement Monday afternoon and had no inkling of it beforehand."
Yes. But WHEN on Monday did he learn of it? My guess is before they told the parents. And that is MOO because what if the Judge rejected the Plea? Are they going to announce to the public (or anyone) that the Defense wants a Plea deal if they have no idea if Prosecution will accept it or the Judge will accept it? (my experience is "not a chance"). No one wants to look foolish.

I'm not saying he didn't get short notice, but I have not seen anything that tells me a judge just lets Defense and Prosecution announce a Plea deal without the Judge knowing first.

This is a reference

And again, I appreciate the responses.

how could he not know that there were multiple people in the house if he had been "casing" the place beforehand, as is speculated?
If (and this is IF) he wanted to commit the perfect murder, how much better would it be to do so in a house full of people? Intend to kill one, leave, no one the wiser.

As to the sheath, I think it's the wording that is confusing. The sheath was LEFT on the bed next to Maddie and BK agreed. Well, he knows NOW that is where he left it, so he is agreeing with the fact that he left it there, but not necessarily saying he PUT it there, if you see the difference?

When the judge spoke he apologized for the short notice, especially for families that had to travel. BK changed his plea, his lawyers contacted the DA and they worked out the terms, then they told the judge it appears. I don't understand why everyone is in a tizzy about this. To me it's good that he plead guilty and will never get out, no more guessing or waiting.

With the disclosure that KG and MM were both sleeping together when the attack occurred, i was under the earlier misconception that it was quoted that KG had said "I think there's someone here" (which would obviously make her awake)

I do remember reading this a while back, can anyone confirm?

I get that the Judge didn’t hear of the actual “agreement” until Monday afternoon, but I think he had an inkling. Steve G said that during a Friday meeting, the possibility of a plea deal was brought up, and then he received an email on Sunday night. Do you think they completely left the Judge out of the loop until Monday afternoon? Is that the way that pleas work? I honestly don’t know.
I very much doubt Judge Hippler dissembled. The email to the families on Sunday night may have just said, and I think SG actually indicated this, that a plea was being considered/ discussed. Either in that email or later, SG learnt the plea was first raised by the defense on the Friday. Moo, it was agreed to in detail by Monday arvo and Judge Hippler was informed. I assume the families were then contacted again regarding the hearing, getting flights and so forth. The defense probably contacted BK's family separately over the weekend. Jmo

“I think he did it to see what it felt like, to experience it. If he wanted to write a paper about what killers feel and why they kill, to be accurate, you have to experience it yourself to truly understand it,” Baylis said. “To get into the mind of a killer, you have to be a killer, would be my guess.
(Snipped and bolded by me)

And now BK will have a chance to get into the mind of a maximum security prisoner.

IMO

You'd have to read back a bit. It was SG's reaction to it that seemed to cause the tizzy. My only point was that all three (Defense, Prosecution AND the Judge) knew AND agreed before telling the family. That's all I was saying.

I think he knew that, but unlikely that he knew K + M would both be sleeping in M's room. Maybe didn't expect the dog to be there.

Also, I don't believe he expected someone to be up eating fast food. Seems to me X room was around the side and he wouldn't see that her light was on.

They represented everything he wanted but could not have.
If BK wanted a better social life and friends he could have had that. Especially in a university community. But - he had to work at it. It didn't come naturally to him. Dale Carnegie's ''How to WIn Friends and Influence People'' was probably not on his bookshelf.
By all appearances BK chose not to develop relationships with his classmates at WU. He was daydreaming about committing ''the perfect crime''.

The judge wouldn't lie. He said he and his staff were preparing to have thousands of people come for jury selection and was surprised as everyone else. I don't know how they work either, other than I suspect the defense and DA would come to an agreement before telling the judge to avoid a bunch of unnecessary back and forth (if BK backed out or whatever)

Not sure if there's a change to this info, but this is what has been said about that: "According to an affidavit of probable cause released on January 5, 2023, a roommate, identified as D.M., told authorities she woke up in her second-floor bedroom around 4 a.m. on November 13 when she heard noise coming from upstairs. A short time later, she thought she heard Goncalves say, “There’s someone here.” She then heard crying from the direction of Kernodle’s room and heard a male voice say, “It’s okay, I’m going to help you.”' After 900+ Days, Bryan Kohberger Suddenly Admits to the Idaho Murders. Looking at Bryan Kohberger more, he shares a lot in common with school shooters and mass killers. Think Elliot Rodger, Adam Lanza, Nikolas Cruz, Salvador Ramos, Eric Harris, Anders Breivik, and Stephen Paddock. I wonder if people thought if Bryan Kohberger would be a school shooter. People knew something was off about him.

Some interpretations are that XK may have come close to that witnesses room and commented about 'someone's here'.

Early in the hearing yesterday, Judge Hippler went over the roles & responsibilities. (Going from memory here as I haven't rewatched it after viewing it real-time.)

Judge Hippler said that the Prosecutor has sole option to offer a plea deal (regardless of whether the prosecution offers it freely or if the defense asks prosecution for a deal & then the prosecution agrees to a deal). As a judge, he does have some say over it, but not all. As long as he can determine that both sides agree to the plea & that the defendant is capable of understanding & agreeing to the plea, he doesn't really have say other than being able to adjust the sentence (or maybe terms somewhat). I don't think he can just flat out reject it at that point or override the fact that a plea deal exists.

The plea that was agreed to by both sides was the maximum sentence that Idaho law allows for each count that BK plead guilty to (10 years + life + life + life + life) to be served consecutively. So, both sides agreed to the maximum possible punishment (other than death which would be reserved for a jury to find). Judge Hippler would have discretion to lessen the sentence (such as reducing the time/having sentences run concurrently instead of consecutively) if he deemed it proper but I doubt he would do that due to the heinousness of the crime & the fact that both sides agreed to the maximum sentence & (as far as we know), BK has not shown remorse.

I expect the sentencing in a few weeks will exactly reflect the existing terms of the plea agreement for the maximum punishment given per charge to run consecutively.

At the moment he accepted this, it's a race against time to insure that he doesn't take it back. They probably ran to get it signed, sealed, delivered so nothing could be questioned. Good for them in that regard!

I would think he left the sheath by accident ? In all the chaos ? I think this because he very soon after bought another K-bar knife and sheath directly after this crime, if I recall correctly ? He bought both knives from Amazon. I’m thinking he knows he lost that sheath, but in all the chaos and confusion, he does not know he left the sheath right by his first victim. Maybe in his misguided thoughts that he believes he is committing the perfect crime, he cannot possess a knife, without a sheath ? So he needs to buy a new knife, so he has the knife/sheath pair.

Now that I typed this out, does it even make sense ? Lol ? At first I thought there was some rationale that he would need to produce both a knife and a sheath in case he was questioned by police, ( he thought in his mind “educated” by his Criminology Class that he committed the perfect crime, and thought he could talk his way out of it ). However, if the police are even knocking on my door about a heinous murder I know I have committed, and i have a k-bar knife, with proof on my Amazon.com account I have purchased, not one, but two k-bar knives/sheaths, I know I lost the sheath somewhere ? I don’t think he knew where he lost it.
(I know I am too wordy, I try not to be ! I try to be more concise, it is a definite problem of mine.)
Other posters on this forum have stated that they have bought a K-bar sheath without buying the knife. The k-bar sheath fits other knife brands and is a popular sheath. So apparently you don't have to buy the sheath as a pair with the knife, they are sold separately.

Lest we forget…he may not be facing the death penalty, but this THING will be scrubbed from everywhere on Earth except his prison cell and that environment.

I have to count this as a win. Bird in the hand and all that.

In my opinion.

Cannot find even 1 image of BKs family attending the events of today. No interviews. No videos. No photos. Nothing. Highly protected. JMOO

that's great - glad to know the media is not harassing them

That's what I imagined too, thanks for adding this! Agree good they got it done.
