Then. he may not. have pled guilty, we won't ever know what was discussed as part of the negotiations unless either side chooses to talk and if a NDA is not in place
For me, the only words he says that I believe is that he's guilty of killing Maddie, Kaylee, Xana and Ethan. Those words got him locked up for life.

You can see even at this hearing when he said, "I respectfully decline" when asked if he wanted to speak. His face and tone belied the word "respectfully."

I thought of that but he’s much older than the usual college house parties.
When I was in college, at 18 ~ my suite-mate was 26 and just enrolled!

Whoa, Alivea G. is INCREDIBLE. "In a world that rejected you...they would have shown you mercy."
She would be a world class prosecutor! Or anything else she wants to be. What a WOMAN!

Even if BK were 18, he still couldn't blend in that crowd who partied at the house. He would stick out like the awkward Lurch that he is. (And someone would've remembered him.)

I don't think he went to the parties, but he might have watched them, noted when they usually ended for the night, and slithered around inside the house while residents slept. Who knows -maybe he is the one who broke the sliding-glass door (not stating he did; just wondering).

Q about Loserberg's background history
A from LE - ' we can't go into his younger years, that's under seal' , we mainly focussed on later education in criminology wrt how he prepared.
BT chips in to add that ' there's no evidence of significant criminal history, history of violence or predisposition to do these crimes... no evidence that he was a serial killer in waiting'

( Having read one of the recent books, we just heard he had a history of trespass & theft. ( J Saba's mom & the Bayliss guy who believes that BK stole from his house & later stalked the house but cops didn't solve. Connie Saba never reported it due to compassion for BK's family wrt heroin addiction etc)

ETA
re 'a serial killer in waiting'
Every experienced profiler & SK academic I've heard have always said that they thought that BK would've become an SK had he got away with this
That means, as they said, "there's no evidence of criminal history," [emphasis mine] meaning that LE had no awareness of the activities discussed in the Ward/Patterson book because BK did not have an arrest record. What LE can do is look at whether he has been investigated, arrested, and charged with a crime. These stories and the speculation about BK creeping his neighbor's apartment came out after the arrest. The key word is "evidence." But what we know now and what is in the legal record are two different things.

Yes, I think so too! I don't know if his motive was the typical SK motive, but based on his research and odd questions he asked with it and him seeming to be trying to avoid leaving evidence behind (phone off or in airplane mode, driving out of the way, possibly wearing a suit over his clothing, detailing his car to the point nothing was left in it, his personal trash going into ziplock baggies and put in the neighbors trash, etc).. I think he was seeking to commit a perfect crime as part of some study or maybe it was a game to see if he could do it or something that wouldn't really be a typical motive. I do think he would have tried again because this one wasn't perfect. I think he would try again to get it right or to toy with LE. I think he enjoyed seeing the fallout of his crime. He enjoyed knowing the entire campus/town was afraid. I think something to do with not getting that LE internship set him off and he wanted to "show" them.

I've also seen it mentioned maybe here or maybe on social media somewhere that maybe he was trying to impress Dr. Ramsland. In some weird, twisted way he wanted to be the focus of attention somehow, either LE, people fearing him as the boogy man, or one of his idols who interviewed serial killers.

I guess it's possible he still had a sexual motive AND he also was relishing in LE not knowing who he was or the idea that he had outsmarted them.

I honestly think, or hope, that the defense could be brought up on a professional ethics charge for that maneuver.
Providing a defense does not mean blaming innocent people.
Bbm.
Agreed and very well said !
TY.

Right. He also creeped around a friend's house in PA. But neither the PA family nor the WA student reported it, IIRC, so there would be no criminal record. jmo

I know

and it's why I was at pains to point out that Connie Saba didn't go to the cops & Bayliss thefts were never solved ( attributed to BK) !

The victim's sister, Alivea Goncalves, also spoke, looking directly at Kohberger and saying: "You want the truth? Here's the one you’ll hate the most. If you hadn’t attacked them in their sleep, in the middle of the night like a pedophile, Kaylee would have kicked your f—ing 🤬🤬🤬."

Alivea kicked off her remarks by telling her sister's killer: "Sit up straight when I talk to you."

She then launched into her statement, which ended in an ovation from the entire courtroom.
Goncalves Family Confronts Bryan Kohberger at Sentencing: 'Kaylee Would Have Kicked Your F—ing 🤬🤬🤬'

Alivea's statement will forever live rent free in my head. She strode up to that podium and verbally eviscerated the Felon with surgical precision. She told him everything we have all been thinking about this small little excuse for a human. That he was unimpressive, weak, a loser, that he was and always will be NOTHING.

I will never forget her self assured, confident strength in delivering it. She was a sight to behold. Her sister would be be so proud of her.

I think it's interesting to learn how LE approached it--that they paid attention to what he was studying in school in the absence of any criminal history.

I'll just NEVER FORGET this impact statement, of all I've ever heard. It was heartfelt and brilliant and cut BK to his ego's core I'm sure.. reaction or not.

I think he would have liked to have been law enforcement, busting up a party of kids who never paid a bit of attention to him.
