I was one of those who mentioned it.

I think it would serve a few purposes. It forces him to admit not just saying yes, I did it but proving it. He wanted that knife hidden. Why not force him to reveal where he put it so LE could get custody of it. It's out there somewhere for someone to find. Same reason LE likes to recover guns used in crimes. If they could get the location of bloody clothing, why not? You ask why and who cares, but to that I say why not? Why leave evidence out there if he could have been required to disclose the location. That is something factual that could have been revealed.

It also would remove any chance that he could claim he confessed because he was pressured or if he tries to say he really didn't do it. If he revealed where the knife is, there is then zero doubt for others to say he didn't do it. Only the killer knows the location of the knife.

Often in plea agreements they require location of evidence, a body, a weapon or something that LE doesn't have.
The DNA on the knife sheath conclusively proves he did it. I don't think you can retract a guilty plea and do a "backsie". The judge clearly asked him about it when he accepted the plea deal. Also there will be a recording of his confession in which it was clear that he wasn't pressured. In fact, I read today that the prosecution revealed that it WAS his defense attorney who proposed the plea (like I figured). Most likely the knife was dropped into a body of water and isn't recoverable and won't be used in the commision of another crime. The physical knife doesn't tell us what happened in the house, nor can he be forced into any more of an admission. Heck I don't like Alford pleas where they don't have to admit guilt- but this isn't an Alford plea. And there was no need to offer the location of the bodies in this case

Kohberger has arrived at IMSI in Kuna.
Here’s a 360 video by the IdahoPress showing what some of his new accommodations will be like.

Idaho Maximum Security Institution (IMSI)

IMSI opened in November 1989 and houses Idaho's most dangerous and volatile male residents. It has a capacity of 535 and is located within a double perimeter fence reinforced with razor wire and an electronic detection system. The population is primarily comprised of close custody, administrative segregation and residents under the sentence of death. IMSI also operates the state Secure Mental Health Facility, which houses residents who are in the Idaho Security Medical Program (ISMP).

Supp 194 is interesting.
I no longer can be convinced that the LE stops on the trip from Washington to PA were just "random".

"Kohberger then told a story about seeing an unmarked police car near Kansas City speed up behind him, catch up to another vehicle, turn on its emergency lights, then drive away. Kohberger thought this was strange and was unsure why it occurred"

Firecrackers are pretty loud. Especially if one is set off inside a house. That is just so odd to even contemplate what it was. But, whatever it was, could it have been whatever that vacuum looking thing was DM saw him carrying as he walked past?
Static electricity? If he was wearing disposable covers on his shoes, could he have been shuffling his feet as he exited and the cover's material created static electricity? That would also create an audible pop and a type of sparkle.

I won't be going down a Google rabbit hole of searching myriad materials used to make disposable shoe covers and "could [Material X] create static on X type of floor" but...I've racked my brain and a sudden release of static could cause what the roommate described.

Relative to Idaho v Hansen and "...victim impact evidence from the victim's non-immediate family and friends was inadmissible because non-victims presented the evidence," take note two things are applicable here:

First, whether non-immediate family members are afforded the right to be heard at sentencing and/or deliver a victim impact sentence is at the discretion of the sentencing court, and in this case, Judge Hippler previously ruled the surviving roommates were deemed crime victims.

Second, this case was covered by a fixed sentence plea agreement where the victim impact statements were not going to affect the sentence of the defendant, and there is no disadvantage or concern of prejudice. MOO

Absolutely the surviving roommates were crime victims, they were witnesses whom he could have easily killed.

I won't be surprised if this is a short-term stay for BK. Idaho is part of the Interstate Corrections Compact. This compact allows states to transfer inmates to correctional facilities in other member states. Most recently, it was reported that Richard Allen was moved from Indiana to Oklahoma, six months post-conviction.

Dylan's testimony got me the most. I relate to how traumatized she must have been. Perhaps this is because of what I knew went on, and how much fear she must be holding on to somatically. It could also be because she was the person who handed me a flyer downtown on the morning of the murders. She was askew then, but differently so and being helped around. Both Dylan and Bethany's words were powerful. But what they went through was so close to murder and devastation. The survivor's guilt must be enormous. I hope being heard today helps them move forward. JMOO

A flash bang maybe?

I am assuming LE would be able to tell if this were the case though with evidence left behind, but it would produce a bright light and loud bang. It's used to disorient people. I doubt this is what he used, but maybe there are similar devices that just produce a bright light and sound without an explosive like action.

It could have been a strobe light? Joggers do use them (for safety) https://www.amazon.com/STURME-Daytime-Flashing-Reflective-Visibility/dp/B07DXTG6DB

I hope that numerous complaints are filed against Elisa Massoth. I was shocked to see her smirking. It was heartbreakingly disrespectful to the victims. I cried listening to them make their statements.
It is quite obvious that the murderer is a sociopath (I don’t even want to say his name ever again.) I don’t buy the “autism” argument. People with autism are not without feelings and empathy. The murderer in this case is completely devoid of humanity.

Per Vinelink Chad Daybell is still in Idaho Maximum Security. (Release date the day after BK in the year 9999.)

I apologize for being morbid, but I can not figure out how the killer didn't cut/slice his own hand?
A Ka-Bar is made to stab. It has a guard to keep your hand away from the knife and a handle that absorbs liwid to a degree. Short of stabbing your other hand or massively losing your grip, its hard to cut your hand with your own knife. JMO based on my experience.

It turned out they were never able to corroborate that account. What was strange too is that this tip came in very late, and it was oddly specific.

I think it's more than safe to say that this never happened.

There would just be no reason for him to use something like that, and it would leave traces as well. It would draw attention, and give him away.

I'm convinced this was meant to be a single homicide, and he intended to sneak in and out undetected by the rest of the household.

I think Dylan was just really drunk, and she imagined this. There's nothing plausible that makes any sense to me other than that.

@10ofRods
Thanks for clarifying my misinformation regarding TV and iPad. I just don’t understand the need for email.
