GUILTY PLEA DEAL ACCEPTED - 4 Univ of Idaho Students Murdered, Bryan Kohberger Arrested, Moscow, Nov 2022 #114

My mind has gone back over DMs impact statement, making me realize how amazing it is that she was the survivor to BK. DM is the antithesis of BK. All emotion, not void. She let it all penetrate him, and unfortunately what he took away was probably something close to gratification. But ignore that.

DM has taken a lot of flack for her actions or maybe I should say inactions. I do believe she was self-soothing on the internet for part of the night (we have all done it). I have a new found respect for DM. She needs to give herself more credit, SHE STAYED ALIVE.

She was unable to understand what was going on in her own home, did not report it to the police, questioned reality deeply while locked in emotion and unable to reach out to those who could help her. Contrast that to BK, who crept into a strangers home to remove their life force, out of anger, jealousy, resentment, cruel curiosity, and an inability to feel anything for anyone possibly even himself.

DM should work very hard to be proud of herself, perfect actions or not. She allowed herself to be human. BK does not know how to do that. JMOO

LE believes one victim (KG or MM) was the target.
Interesting that LE came up with that. I too have thought this from the get go, thinking it was MM and that he'd park behind their house and watch her through her bedroom window. I think Kaylee being in bed with her was NOT part of The Plan and he snapped.
The felon was carrying something in front of him, in both hands, when DM saw him.

With both hands?? Why? Whatever could he be carrying that would need to be held with both hands? I can't imagine it was due to the weight, but were 2 hands required to operate whatever it was? That's just so odd to me.

Did he take something from the house? 🤔

Because,
for sure when he was breaking IN
both hands weren't occupied.

And it seems he liked taking trophies
(I mean IDs of women.
IDs found in a box)

So
Wouldn't it be strange if he didn't take something this time?

I do not want to say this out loud but I have worried it is human. Is that why they said we would be shocked? Did they know they were dealing with a potential serial killer? JMOO

I wonder which steps? Was he running from them?

I got the impression he was running to his bedroom? Maybe in the basement?

My speculation only

I think the felon stopped in the bathroom to wipe blood off his face. Perhaps grabbed a towel and then wrapped it around the knife, and was holding it awkwardly to prevent cutting himself.

And proving the transfer axiom. Left something, took something.

"The moment he knew he'd been caught.

He looked directly at the camera
as he sat down,
wearing a black hoodie and black shorts
with his hands restrained behind his back."
One would expect that a man who bludgeoned 4 innocent college students in their sleep may try to hide his face, and turn away from the camera, but not this guy. He wants his face to be remembered. JMO

Chief Anthony Dahlinger who was promoted & previously handled the case communications speaks to Nate Eaton about the plea deal ... 'could be mistrials, could be additional trials, all the work has to be done multiple times'

Second half of interview is more interesting.
Jeff Nye,Criminal Division Chief for the Idaho Attorney General, explains their role and why they stepped in to help the county prosecutor.

On IGG ' this was an issue of first impression in Idaho so no court had addressed a constitutional challenge... fruit of the poisonous tree.. all of the evidence was the fruit of those actions.. stakes couldn't have been higher.... as per Hippler If the FBI did in fact violate Mr's K's constitution.... you lose everything '

PS this relates to what Attorney Debarre was explaining & we discussed on WS last week - the real risk that Supreme Court - in the future - rules it unconstitutional/illegal risking a BK retrial with so much ruled as inadmissable

Nye also explains, If he does appeal, Mr Nye's division will handle it and clarifies the types of appeals and their limited prospects. ( Around 40mins)

This was good. Nye says the only appeal he could file is to challenge the plea deal itself, like for because he got ineffective counsel, or that somehow he didn't knowingly and freely agree to it. But Nye says the chances for this succeeding are slim.

Ineffective Counsel??? How? She tried every trick in the book for him. She was the most effective counsel he could get, and she knew when to call it quits. She spared him the Death Penalty. And it's on tape and on record. The judge asked him if he agreed to it. I don't see how he can challenge it.

Just out by Gray Hughes:

At 19:36, Hughes quickly shows Ethan’s position on the bed when he was found by LE officers.
When I read about this in Support #51 of the Moscow Police investigation documents, I had trouble imagining it:

During his recitation of the crime during the plea hearing, Bill Thompson said Ethan was murdered in his sleep, so I wondered how Ethan could have been asleep in that position. If Hughes is correct, it makes me wonder even more. Did Hughes address this in a previous video?

I bet
her career will spectacularly take off now.

He ran down to the basement, where his bedroom is. IMO until I find my link.

In the Gray Hughes video I recently posted, Hughes asserts that the murderer spent about 1 minute and 45 seconds at his car doing blood spatter mitigation. Of course, this seems like very little time and caused many of us to wonder how LE could find no blood or other evidence from the crime scene in the murderer’s car.

However, as I imagine we all know, the murderer wrote this paper as a final for a course during his last semester as an undergraduate at DeSales: Crime-scene Scenario Final.

Here is what he writes at the top of page 3:

I think the murderer practiced removing his kill suit and gloves until he could do so quickly and effectively—depositing, as Hughes suggests, all items in one or more plastic bags. In addition, he may have covered his car seat and trunk in plastic as well, as many speculated here (shower curtain, anyone?).

More importantly, though, I think that after he disposed of his kill kit and showered and shampooed obsessively, he then treated his car and his apartment as he would any crime scene, using a blue light and yellow glasses to detect “small trace evidence” like blood that would otherwise be missed. He could then remove any such evidence before he was arrested in late December.

This is the problem when someone trained in LE techniques is the perpetrator of a crime. Unfortunately for the murderer, though, and lucky for us, one over-inflated ego is no match for the tireless teamwork of LE and prosecutors, who were able to bring him to justice anyway.

IMO

Living in a basement??
Bedroom in the basement.
I dived deep when this crime first occurred and found realtor photos of the house. Very nice finished basement.
I'll have to search for the address again and hopefully will find pics to share.

Living in a basement??
Yeah, why not? Basements are not always dark, dank, and spider filled. Some are quite nice. :)

Still looking for link of his having his bedroom in basement.
