The theory now is
that it was Xana who made him leave the sheath behind
as he raced after her to the bedroom.

When his plan fell apart
as an unexpected and wide awake witness appeared.

JMO
Or, simply "chaos" made him leave the sheath behind. I don't think he factored in chaos.

wow
so many interesting things in that document Mass Guy has uploaded.

' needs to be physically perfect'

( Have forgotten the name of that historic SK whose thing was slaughtering ' Glamour Girls' It was mentioned in the Angenette Levy interview)

also ' perfect ' like BK was a perfect specimen of manhood. LOL. Also a bit reminiscent of Eliot Rodger

I think he was searching for the "perfect" victim. Not "perfect" in the sense they were vulnerable in the wrong place at the wrong time, but that they were physically perfect. I think that's all he needed, plus nighttime.

He wanted a perfectly beautiful victim asleep.

He was even forced to talk to her:
"I'm going to help you"

It reminds me of Lucy L's infamous line:
"Trust me, I'm a nurse".

MOO Sheath left on the bedding.

Of course yes, maybe Xana's distraction caused him to leave it behind. But IMO its the exertion of subduing Kaylee's that cause him to lose track of it in the bedding. So MOO then the two women one fighting and one fleeing and then fighting put into motion his leaving evidence that led to his capture.

And leaving Dylan alive!
An eye-witness!

Both brave victims fighting ensured this murderer was caught.

Leaving DNA behind
and witnessed description of the intruder.

WTH! That next post - document from MassGuy

- students/TAs ' needing escorts out of the building'
- drinking the whole bottle of wine in October, must've been in a short space of time. ( He told another WSU TA wtte of ' I've never understood why people drink.' He's such a pseud)

So he now didn't want to switch on his cell phone for class note- making. Because he doesn't want to be tracked? But why would it look suspicious if he was being tracked to WSU locations - inside lectures?
( I've also forgotten whether he had had or was suspected to have had burner phones)

He had incriminating material on his phone.

I bet he kept it in safe place in the apartment
for fear of losing it somewhere or being stolen.

Aha! Is that why he stopped using his phone in class? I didn't understand that detail of suddenly using his laptop in class instead. (I still think handwriting notes is better, fwiw, and not just because I'm old, lol.)

Re the wine

It was during a department outing, right?
So,
a social occasion.

I noticed many introverts help themselves with alcohol during parties
to help them relax, shed inhibitions and socialize.

Couple interesting tidbits.

Minutes after reading about the search for a Hyundai Elantra, Kohberger began searching for car detailing shops, and searching for used cars.

They only have these searches because he was arrested before he was able to wipe his devices again.

If you haven’t read about Wayne Nance, “To Kill and Kill again: The Terrifying True Story of Montana’s Baby Faced Serial Sex Murderer,” is a great read.

I don’t know why they haven’t made a movie out of it yet, as the ending he met is worthy of any Hollywood movie.
