JMHO, but the sister’s interview seemed mostly self serving and a bit disrespectful. MOO

this is the first i've heard of anyone having to enter a code to get in the door, but I've not read all the documents exhaustively. I thought they were pretty lax about even locking the doors?
Makes me think that he entered immediately after the Door Dash delivery. Xana probably had her hands full and had not locked the door back.

He likely entered about ten minutes after the DD delivery which we've since learned was delivered to the front door.

LE did find some smaller footprints outside the sliding door. Whether those were from the roommates who had been outside with Murphy or from Xana, retrieving her food via the slider around to the front door, outside.

Either way, BK probably came in through the slider, same way he left.

Bryan Kohberger’s Sister Mel Breaks Her Silence on Idaho Murders, Says Family Had No Clue He Was the Killer

“If I ever had a reason to believe my brother did anything, I would have turned him in,” Mel Kohberger said in a new interview

From MSM
  • Bryan Kohberger's sister, Mel Kohberger, broke her silence in a new interview published in The New York Times on Jan. 3
  • Mel said her family had no clue that Bryan was the killer, and even recalled reaching out to tell him to be careful after learning of the Nov. 13, 2022, killings
  • Mel also revealed she had to leave her job in the wake of the killings after her employer received an influx of inquiries
Someone has even used the author name “Melissa J. Kohberger” to publish a book about the case, seemingly trying to capitalize on the killings using Mel’s likeness, according to The New York Times. Mel described this as “confusing” and “painful."

“It’s like being victimized but not really being a victim," she said.

I found his sisters reference to the bicameral mind interesting, especially since it was brought up by BK. Here is a little about that.

I also found hints that the family would prefer to remember the boy he was and not the murderer he became. JMOO

Melissa sent a drawing of a blackheart to her brother, which he was pictured with during his sentencing. 1767495440259.webp

Melissa Kohberger, has sought to explain the ‘creepy’ drawing of a black heart that her brother was seen with during his sentencing.

She said it was actually a sign of support from his family to show they still loved him.

According to the Daily Mail, Melissa stayed home in Pennsylvania to care for her father Michael, who has heart trouble, but wanted to send her sibling the drawing to show that his family had not disowned him.

Her drawing was photocopied and given to Kohberger.

Thats a strange symbol of support…a black heart? I guess I need to see what the black heart emoji means.

She originally said that she knew that it was him. We were told that BK decided to plead guilty when he found out that his sister was going to testify.

Mixed messages. I wonder if she is considering a book deal since she lost her job.

1.) One of his 2 sisters was concerned it was BK but I haven't found out which sister this was. There was enough concern to compel some unknown family members to search his car. It was reported that they did not find any crime evidence - which maybe put their minds at ease?

2.) Amanda, not Mel, was put on the witness list for both prosecution and defense. For defense it was for mitigation purposes in case of a guilty verdict, in which case there would be a 2nd trial called the Penalty Phase Trial. The first trial is called the Guilt Phase Trial.

The prosecution wanted to establish certain facts about BK from before he moved to Pullman and certain facts about BK's behavior after he returned home to Pennsylvania.

3.) Book deal? Interesting that Mel said:

Are you getting his sisters mixed up? I think that's why you're thinking there are mixed messages. You're thinking of 2 different people (JMO).

The black heart emoji (🖤) symbolizes various emotions, often contrasting traditional love; it can mean dark humor, deep sorrow/mourning, gothic style, or even just a cool, edgy affectionwithout romance, showing support for things like Black Lives Matter, or just liking something with a twist. Its meaning depends heavily on context, ranging from expressing loss to adding dramatic flair to a joke or showing solidarity.

Supposedly, she drew a picture of a heart and included a lot of bright colours, she said---but the defense team had to make a photocopy, not use the original. [ original letters can have drugs/poisons on the paper, so I think they cannot give them to the prisoner?

Yes. I remember it the same way. I think she has seen the growing legion of idiots claiming his Innocence, so she is going to go with that too.
Mixed messages. I wonder if she is considering a book deal since she lost her job.
Probably.

I appreciate her candor.
I think her candor is shaded by the love she has for her brother. Not unusual, who could possibly believe their baby bro is a mass murderer? I feel sorry for the family, they didn't ask for any of this.

It does make me wonder if a book or media circuit will be forthcoming? I personally hope not. I think it's time that this killer's 15 minutes of fame is over and he slips into obscurity deep into the prison black hole.

We already know he's not going quietly though... His Narc is still showing by his sense of entitlement and the many complaints he files. Dude, you're in prison, not the Marriott.

BK send to be enjoying a loyalty from his family that he did extend to them.

I believe that BK used his sister to get a message across (about what he currently is researching bicameral mentality). Also, the united front is somewhat unlikely, since we all have different ideas about things. It is possible that she is acting on behalf of the family to "create" the united front.

Personally I don't buy it, and I think she was quite careful and possibly appropriate to not discuss the crime. However, it becomes a defensive act to give an interview and not address the main issue. They may not believe he is guilty, but I would think all four of them do not have the same opinion. JMOO

The timing of this article is interesting (he was flown back to Idaho 3 years ago today). Something seems quite intentional in the messaging.

My guess the heart was colored but was copied on a black/white printer.

That's what I've heard. However, I went to go check something and found a pic of that black heart and what's odd to me is IF a copy was made of it with a B&W copier... then why does it radiate color from the sides of the heart out to the edges? Now I'm wondering if what I heard (a B&W copy of it was made) is correct or not.

(Bolding and underling done by me)

The drawing appeared to be a black heart with a multi-colored square background. She [sister Melissa] had drawn it to show that his family still loved him, even if she couldn't attending the sentencing

I see some yellow and pink/lavender. A B&W copier can't produce colors.

Me, too. BK's family members are victims of his actions, too. I'm glad we finally heard from one of his sisters as there has been a lot reported about them without hearing from them directly. I feel for the challenges she is now facing in her life.

The heart was photocopied, according to the posted article, above, seemingly in black and white.

Also, I read that she offered to resign from her job when the numerous inquiries were hurting her employer.
