''A Chicago teacher has been reported missing after she disappeared while traveling to an acupuncture appointment over the weekend.

Linda Brown, 53, was last seen on Jan. 3 in the 4500 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, according to police.

A missing person flyer surrounding her disappearance said Brown left her home in the Bronzeville neighborhood and was headed to the Wicker Park area for an acupuncture appointment, but she never made it and hasn't been heard from or seen since.

"I am terrified," said Brown's husband Antwon Brown, who noted his wife never made it to her appointment. "I am just shaking. I need my wife home."

Brown is believed to have been driving a blue Honda Civic with an Illinois license plate of CX57470 and could be in or around the 2200 block of West North Avenue, police said.''

“She normally answers when I call,” he said.

Quintana echoed Brown’s sentiments, adding that her sister is “in contact with Antwon all the time, no matter where she goes (or) what shes doing, he knows where she is at.”

Family members shared on Monday that Linda Brown had been experiencing mental health challenges and was actively receiving support. Still, they don’t believe she would intentionally disappear, nor would she miss school, given that students who rely on her would miss out.

“That was her main thing, helping kids. She loved it. Never missed a day of work. She always went and she always had a smile on her face. Positive attitude all the time,” Brown said.

She went missing sometime between bedtime and 8:30 in the morning. When she was actually seen would narrow the time she might have left the house considerably, but from the article it's not clear when that was.

When they say she was receving "support" for mental healh challenges I wonder if that meant focused medical care, perhaps meds. Medication, if newly prescribed or recently changed, can sometimes affect behaviors in ways that may be unexpected.

This info is getting some good press tonight locally, and I hope someone remembers seeing her or her vehicle.

Antwon says he last saw his wife one Friday night. The couple watched a movie at their Bronzeville home and then went to bed.

"Everything was fine. Next morning I woke up, it was like 8:35 a.m., and she was gone. No sign of her. I thought she went to acupuncture because she goes to acupuncture on Saturdays," Antwon said.

But Antwon says the 53-year-old never showed up to her regularly scheduled appointment. And by Saturday afternoon, no one in Linda's family could get ahold of her.

Where she was last seen looks like a big intersection, I wonder if she was seen on traffic or doorbell cameras or by an actual person?

Investigators say 53-year-old Linda Brown was last seen Saturday and may need medical attention.
''Her family spent Monday retracing the Bridgeport teacher's last steps and calling area hospitals but have turned up nothing. Now, they are pleading with the public to help them bring her home safely.

"We don't know where she is. We need to find her because I'm breaking down and I don't know what to do," said Antwon Brown, Linda's husband.''

''Chicago police said Linda was last seen in the 4500-block of South Martin Luther King Drive, not far from where she lives, on Saturday. But flyers with Linda's photo are now being circulated online and throughout the Chicago area''

First I’ve read he didn’t actually see her leave for her appointment

We’ve seen this story way too many times..

So someone saw her / she was on camera on Saturday, after leaving her house? That's what the yahoo article seems to imply.

Her husband saw her Friday night, and then she was seen or captured on camera on Saturday near her house, and now nothing.

Has anyone seen what time her acupuncture appointment was supposed to be?

Either the timeline is changing or the initial reporting is off or she was captured on camera. I'm leaning toward the timeline being adjusted ATM. MOO

It feels like they are purposely leaving the details of her last sighting vague, no?

While a missing person alert from Chicago police describes Brown as being around 5 feet tall, the missing person flyer says she is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing between 130-140 pounds with fair complexion. She was last seen wearing a long, puffy black coat and shiny UGG-style boots.

The above link is in the OP. Who gave the physical description to authorities?

Yeah, they need to correct some details here.

I just learned above that her husband said she normally had Saturday acupuncture appointments but there was no time mentioned

If a vehicle was involved, traffic or CCTV coverage should help establish her route. Any confirmation on that? It’s so vague.
“Last seen near her home on Saturday” is unclear; witness or camera?

9 AM Acupuncture Appointment

At 1:09 timestamp of the video, she had a 9 AM acupuncture appointment on Sat., Jan. 3, 2026.

At 1:16 timestamp of the video, Linda's sister [Lisa Quintana] is being interview by a reporter and she says: "I texted her again -- maybe around 2 O'clock -- and I still hadn't heard from her, so that's when we got in touch with Antwon Brown [Linda's husband] to say, you know, how's Linda doing today -- have you talked to her at all? And then, he was like, 'No. I was thinking maybe she was with you, and I haven't seen her.'"

Missing Chicago Teacher May Need Medical Attention

She is being treated for mental health issues, but family members do not believe that she would go missing of her own volition. She was dedicated to her job and her students.

At timestamp 0:30, Linda's husband [Antwon Brown] says: "Something's up. She normally answers her phone when I call."

At timestamp 0:35, Linda's sister [Lisa Quintana] says: "She is in contact with Antwon [Linda's husband] all the time, no matter where she goes or what she's doing. He knows where she's at and what she's doing."

At timestamp 1:05, the Missing Person Poster (from The Reignited Project), gives Linda's height as 5'7". Her weight is 140 lbs.
