This could go one of two ways at this point, IMO. Let’s hope it’s the other and Linda is found safe. It’s going on four days 😔
I'm seeing one of four ways:

Car accident, with car undetected at this point
Self-harm
Taking a break alone
Foul play

I saw you post this earlier, my suspicions are based on a more focused set of circumstances, according to what we have heard so far.

Other than number three on your list, there are no good scenarios.

Husband's Message to Linda

At timestamp 2:04 of the video, Antwon Brown (Linda's husband): "Baby, I just want to let you know that we love you, we want you home, and please -- call us. Call someone, and let us know that you are safe."

  • #44
The fact that there isn't even confirmation of her in the car via video yet is also concerning. I wish someone would clarify that.
As you are mentioning and I kind of touched on before, so odd that we "know" when she was last seen but no other details...by whom, on video, with or without car? Usually, if LE really has no idea and no leads, they would release video or more details. Also, has anyone seen an article or clip where we're hearing anything from law enforcement?

IL - IL-Linda Brown, 53, teacher, left home in Bronzeville for an acupuncture appoint. in Wicker Park, didn't arrive, 3 Jan., 2026,*Blue Honda#CX57470*.

At timestamp 0:47 [Antwon Brown, Linda's husband]: "I'm terrified, man. I'm just shakin', man. I just need my wife home. Seriously. Need my wife home." [1:00]: "She had her phone, she had her purse, and credit cards, but we don't know where she is."

At timestamp 1:32 [Lisa Quintana, Linda's sister]: "She's in constant contact with me. She never leaves Antwon's side without him knowing where she's going. It's just not like her."

At timestamp 1:50 [Antwon Brown, Linda's Husband]: "Please, approach her. Ask her do she need help. She has her phone. Her phone is still ringing. So, if you do see her, please approach her and call detectives. Call 911. Please, if you see her."

So her husband is speaking about her in past tense in an interview.

“That was her main thing, helping kids. She loved it. Never missed a day of work. She always went and she always had a smile on her face. Positive attitude all the time,” Brown said.
Perhaps just speaking about work in the past tense since she had been on a leave of absence? Trying to stay positive, but this is not to say I don't have my issues with what her husband has been saying...

I haven't read anything or heard any statements directly from LE. MOO

Linda was not really "seen" by her husband on the morning of Saturday, January 3, 2026. By his own admission that sighting seems to be an empty space in the bed next to him. Because she wasn't in the bed, that's how he knew she had gone to her 9am acupuncture appointment? How, then, is it known what she was wearing when she left the house? If he didn't see her before she left?

ETA: O.K. Answering myself here. Because her black puffy coat and shiny boots were missing is how we "know" what she was wearing. (Haven't had enough coffee yet.)

That's why I was wondering if there was a ring doorbell camera.

I'm going to assume that LE would have viewed that by now. But LE has been quiet.

According to this, she was last seen on Saturday afternoon.

That changes the matrix, no?

It's not stated but I get the impression she was seen at a  location (like an intersection, as opposed to a place (like a Starbucks), and further, on CCTV. Then the mention that she may be traveling in a certain car. Gives the impression she wasn't in a car when last seen (captured).

If this is a solid sighting, she did leave the house.

From your first article. Why would she be in the exact place she was reported missing from in the afternoon

"Linda Brown, 53, was last seen Saturday afternoon in the 4500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in the Bronzeville neighborhood"

I watched the video at that link and the 'afternoon' part was repeated by the anchor.

One detail I picked up on that is different from previous interviews with the husband is he states after the movie Linda went to bed and he stayed up a little later. Earlier I thought he said we went to bed and I thought that meant they went to bed together. Probably nothing but I noticed it.

The Chicago Police Department said Linda was last seen on Saturday near the 4500 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive

''Linda is described as being 5 feet tall, weighing 130 pounds and having brown hair and brown eyes.

However, the Chicago Teachers Union's flyer said she was 5 feet 7 inches tall.
The Daily Mail has contacted the Chicago Police Department for further comment.'

Forgive me, is that location consistent with her home address?

So she could have returned home? And give missing, subsequently, later?

Maybe missing her acupuncture appointment wasn't her choice?

I have questions.

That is what I have believed that it was her residence but take a look at the Chicago PD missing flyer and see what you think.

Of note. "She may be in the area of the 2200 block of W. North Ave."

Is that second location in the vicinity of her acupuncture clinic?

Any chance the reporter made the error of "Saturday afternoon"? I haven't heard her husband say anything different then when he woke up at 8:35am she was gone and he thought she went to her Dr appt. I also have not read any reports directly from LE. With her mental status could she have self admitted into a hospital? Are they obligated to inform LE on that? IMO

Yes, the second location (W. North Ave) is in Wicker Park, which is where the acupuncturist is. Just mapped it out.

Ooops just posted the same.

This case reads differently than a Mother's Day bike ride --

She did leave the house, she did apparently make it toward her acupuncture appointment, but apparently didn't go to it.

Could see be a victim of a secondary crime? Not sure what that crime would be. Hijacking. If she wandered around for hours, could her car have been towed? I hope LE has considered that. Still doesn't explain where she went. Wouldn't be the first care of a car being towed with a person in it.

Could someone be harboring her, who believes they're protecting her? Church, hospital, homeless shelter...

She's somewhere.

The other distinction is: her car is missing.

If you take someone away that you murdered in their car and hide it somewhere remote, you have to get back home again somehow. It just makes the whole husband did it thing much more complicated. Not impossible, just in my mind a little less likely.

Documented mental health issues and currently on leave from her job. She seems to be a high risk for self-harm.
