CHICAGO - The husband of missing Chicago Public Schools teacher Linda Brown says her vehicle has been located, but police are withholding details as the search for her continues.

Question on the mental health concerns that were reported. Has that been substantiated by anyone, or is that just what her husband told LE?
"Brown is a longtime special education teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School in Bridgeport. Her husband said she has a history of mental illness but has never gone missing before."

Linda Brown: Missing Chicago teacher's car found, husband says

Like you, @KaylynnCouture, I don't recall that Linda's sister, or anyone else (but the husband), commented on her mental health. True, she had just had a period of medical leave from her job. She was to return to her teaching job on Monday, January 5, 2026. And, she had been receiving weekly acupuncture. That could have been for a physical ailment.

It could be worse. The pneumatics of my desk chair seem to be giving out on me!
And I am out of coffee so there goes my thinking.

I am glad they finally acknowledged that the police were holding back details, because things weren't adding up. They weren't explaining her last "sighting" at all, etc. Hopefully, this means they have more information than we think.

That's exactly what I am assuming. I am hoping this is figured out soon.

The information about the car being found came from Linda's husband.

Thoughts?

To me it sounds more like the husband may have heard her car was reportedly found but LE is keeping that location quiet. I keep thinking the 2 reported locations of where she was last seen and where she may have been heading came from her husband, LE only had that to go on so that was reported, I'm not quite sure she was seen at the Dr's office area only that she may have headed that way.

I was also curious as to why she was seeing this Dr? Injury? Constant pain could cause someone to be depressed etc. Just a thought. IMO

I understand from what's been in the news reports is the police are being quiet on the location of the car as they are actively searching the area.

As for the accupuncturist. There are a lot of reasons for going. I started going to one in my 40's for help with general stress and sleeping (after menopause I was waking up constantly). It helped immensely, and until he retired I went weekly. The reason she may have gone could be sleep, stress, headaches, overall wellness. I do know, as far as where the office was located in relation to her home. had my accupunctist moved offices I would have happily driven 20 miles to see him, he was the best practitioner I had found.

If she's been out on leave and facing returning to work Monday she may have been feeling overwhelmed last weekend. Finding her car is an important update, I hope that it leads to finding her. I have a feeling that she's purposely missing at this point, I hope it's not due to self harm. Hopefully Linda will soon be found and get any help that she may need.

Assuming reports of the car being located are true, I’m reading that as no self-harm took place in the car. That’s probably stating the obvious, but that’s something we can (hopefully) rule out. As far as LE announcements *aren’t* being made, she wasn’t discovered in the car (self-harm or foul play).

Right, they are searching the area where her car was found and she is still missing. I've recently looked for an update but haven't found anything regarding the location the car was located or any new information.

Investigators said Linda could be driving a blue Honda Civic with an Illinois plate numbered CX57470. She could require medical attention

The Chicago Police Department said Linda was last seen on Saturday near the 4500 block of South Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive

''Linda is described as being 5 feet tall, weighing 130 pounds and having brown hair and brown eyes.

However, the Chicago Teachers Union's flyer said she was 5 feet 7 inches tall.
The Daily Mail has contacted the Chicago Police Department for further comment.'
She definitely appears much closer to 5’7”. I thought that from the start. Have they cleared that up?

This case is local to me. 4500 S King Drive is about a 10-15 minute eastbound drive to the shoreline of Lake Michigan. I hope her car was not found close to the lake.

Surely someone can see a swarm of LE activity in the area of the search....or is it that remote of an area?

“I’m broke down. I don’t know what to do. I’ve done everything,” Antwon said. “I’m talking to people, we’ve got people searching for her. I’m out of options.”

Her husband, Antwon Brown, said they had a quiet night together at home watching a movie before she went to bed early.NBC Chicago
''B
rown’s brother-in-law, Lorenzo Quintana, said the family is “looking everywhere we possibly can” for her.''

I hope I can say this here. In the second photo they are standing in front of buildings that comprise the Cook County Correctional Facility AKA Cook County Jail at 26th and California in Chicago. Also note the barbed wire atop the fencing. I'm just identifying the location.

Lake Shore Drive (LSD) runs along the eastern edge of the lake so people driving on LSD would be able to see LE lights at night if something is going on along the lakeshore. Sadly last September a woman went into the lake with her two young children, all found deceased. Just heartbreaking.
