The road where his car was found is near a popular trailhead. Johnson County asks state police to help find missing man

Map of the County Road the car was found on (exact location on the road unknown).

The missing license plate is troubling, but hopefully they are searching the trail.

Collins was reported missing out of Tama County on Dec. 29, after he stopped communicating with family and friends. He was last heard from on Dec. 19 and was declared missing after he failed to make contact following Christmas.

Authorities later located Collins’ white Mini Cooper abandoned at a trailhead in the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas, more than 500 miles from Tama County. Officials say the vehicle was missing its license plates when it was discovered.
