Arkansas sheriff's office recovers car linked to missing Iowa man

A car linked to Nicholas Collins, a man reported missing out of Iowa on Dec. 29, was found on a county road in Oark, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office said.

Arkansas sheriff: No sign of missing Iowa man after search of 1,200+ acres

Authorities have expanded the search for missing Iowa man Nicholas Collins after crews found no trace of him in an Arkansas forest.

Collins was reported missing out of Tama County on Dec. 29, after he stopped communicating with family and friends. He was last heard from on Dec. 19 and was declared missing after he failed to make contact following Christmas.

Authorities later located Collins’ white Mini Cooper abandoned at a trailhead in the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas, more than 500 miles from Tama County. Officials say the vehicle was missing its license plates when it was discovered.

On Tuesday, the Tama County Sheriff's Office released an update announcing that Collins' body had been found in Newton County, Arkansas. They said there is no indication of foul play, and the investigation remains active.
