My question is about the testimony at Casey's bond hearing in regards to Detective Yuri Melich.
Detective Melich said,
"I actually went into the car to smell what the smell smelled like," testified Detective Yuri Melich, Orange County Sheriff's Office. "I was a homicide detective for two years with the Orange County Sheriff's Office. From my experience, the smell that I smelled inside that car was the smell of decomposition.
My question ...
Would a Detective put his reputation, credibility on the line under oath and lead a judge to believe something that wasn't true?
And wouldn't that same Detective ask other Homocide Detectives for their opinions before taking the stand?
