Please Update George's Condition or New Developments Here

I personally don't want him to talk officially until he is a bit more stable, else it might not be usable and could be quite easily challenged.

They don't keep people in the hospital very long for anything else. Unless George is having some sort of surgery or heart trouble he must be going to another treatment facility for mental health reasons. Maybe he is an alcoholic that he is going into rehab to treat.

This kind of makes sense to me, if not alcohol, maybe RX drugs for his pain? Like this blurb from the Orlando Sentinel "He has worked intermittently as a security guard, but injuries prevented him from working steadily, according to court records".

Strictly just thinking out loud but being local another thing that crossed my mind when I thought why Daytona is that there is the new Vegas style DB Kennel Club (Dog Track)/Poker Room here in Daytona. I have read of his supposed gambling problem and thought well, maybe to get away he gambled and lost some bucks wagering there, and then was disgusted with himself?

Maybe he fell off one of those wagons and it was just the final straw?

I guess I could (slightly) better understand the way the family treats him if he has put them through some problems like one of those, in the past.

I emailed the DB NJ reporter and asked if anyone there was doing a followup as to what he had been doing that day. He left home that morning, but where was he all day?

I know he mentioned getting a pizza later when he checked in the hotel "Hotel owners told Eyewitness News that Anthony checked in and said he was just tired of driving for the night. He asked about getting a pizza, paid $35 and went to his room."

Tired of driving for the night? Was he driving around Daytona, or had he been somewhere else? The Bethune Point park ping - was he there and why?

If anyone from the paper answers me, or publishes anything, I'll link it.

What about this being a defense ploy? GA is mentally unstable and can't testify against his monster of a daughter?

I'm just not sure what to believe... the A's are NOT to be trusted or taken at face value...

Yep ..
He was in good enough shape to walk to the car rather than take an ambulance to the hospital ..

A few beers, some pizza, a couple of blood pressure pills ..
That's NOT a suicide attemp ..
That's a cry for help ..

I think it's a fun night out, not a cry for help. Plus I think this family needs to stop fighting each other to see who is the biggest "victim". Caylee is, end of story.

Ah, if only life and people were so simple. The family dynamics are very complex. In this case they have reached bizarre levels. :waitasec:

I hope while George is there he gets some therapy.
My ultimate belief is that George won't heal until he comes to the realization
that Casey killed Caylee, not Zenida, not Jesse, not Ricardo, Not Amy, Not
Tony. It was
Casey

That being said, I do have sympathy for George. He has gone through more than I can imagine.
Not being in his shoes I have only a small idea of how I would behave.
Accepting the truth has always been the key for me to be able to move on....

Did GA pay cash for the $35 room?

I personally do not believe this to be a defense ploy. I think George is in great pain and has been for some time. I also think his poor soul has been torn between all the roles he's had to play and all the people he had to keep happy. Evidenced by his seemingly honest discussions with LE and the complete 180 when he is under Cindy's watchful eyes and ears. To me he did not seem genuine on LKL like he did with LE - he was obviously 'scripted' [by Cindy] on LKL.

When I look into George's face I see a broken, beaten, very sad husband, father and grandfather. I believe he knows the truth in his heart - I believe he's known for quite some time...and all this time he's had to support Cindy and Casey and Lee and their stories, mistruths and general comments. He doesn't want to fail again - so he sticks with his family and supports their claims.

I also imagine he feels great guilt over not being able to protect Caylee...woulda, coulda, shoulda...he then over-compensates for one folley [which I do not believe was his fault but he likely feels this way] with a host of others and this is what we've witnessed over the past several months (i.e. the weeks old "pizza" smell in trunk via LKL).

I have cried for George several times and I pray that he is able to find his voice and his peace in this situation.

Does it matter how he paid? I don't mean to sound like a jerk - but what would using one method of payment over another have to do with anything?

In that article, it states he took about two weeks worth of sleeping pills and blood pressure medication along with about eight beers. Sounds like a pretty real suicide attempt to me.

I read it a bit differently. Or perhaps they added a word.

Eyewitness News has learned George drank as many as eight bottles of beer and mixed that with possibly two weeks' worth of sleeping pills and blood pressure medication.

If I recall it was said at the beginning, perhaps the 911 call that George had taken 2 weeks worth of blood pressure meds well as some sleeping pills from the house.

This article makes it sound as if he ingested 14 sleeping pills! But upon closer reading, all Eyewitness News has learned seems to be that he drank 8 bottles of beer. And they left out the pizza!

Here is CA if you don't say the words "I am going to kill myself" then there is no way anyone can make you stay unless you are declared incompetent. There would be a court process for that and takes time and is painful and difficult.
The choice to leave I would think will be up to George. At least it would be here in CA but I do not know if it is different in FL.

JBean, this has probably been addressed already since I'm starting at the beginning of this thread.

He could be a danger to himself *or* he could be a danger to others.

One might say, "Well, this fellow certainly is not a danger to others!" However, the "dark, veiled references to Casey's friends" was very slightly elaborated on during a radio broadcast on either January 26 or January 27 (I believe it was on 104.1 or 87.7 during the noon to 1 o'clock). Since I don't have a link to post I don't want to speculate on how it was phrased but it made me go "URK" and I thought that I'd come here and see whatever the exact statement was spelled out. I did not see it posted on websleuths.

Needless to say, what I took from it (and I will say the least) was that he wrote something regarding Casey's friends that was NOT very friendly in tone.

Maybe I'll find it somewhere so I can type it out without misrepresenting what was reported.

I read it differently - just because he "took" those items from the house does not mean that he "took" [ingested] them...

Some news outlet reported that someone had been sick in the bathroom so hopefully he yacked up the sleeping pills and that is why he was escorted in a regular car and not an ambulance.

I know one news station had video of the maids cleaning the room (or maybe it was a similar room) complete with the carton of beer on the ground, 4 beers in the mini-fridge with a Big Gulp or some sort of fountain drink in the mini-fridge, and a coat or blanket on the bed.

This was a poorly written article from the beginning.

Hopefully, they can remedy this misinformation and quickly.

I srarted this yesterday--However I feel this entire situation with GA is very detrimental to the entire case---I do believe that he may have thrown himself under the bus and what he testified in front of the Grand Jury,or may have known is null and void----WHY because he is incompetent!!!! This may have been way too much for him to endure, and I do believe that he is hurting,,however I do wonder who will throw themself under the bus next???? CA,LA???

I think the Grand Jury could judge his competence (or lack thereof) when he testified before them. He was represented by a competent attorney (Nejame) who did not claim George was incompetent. So, I would assume he was fully competent at the Grandy Jury hearing.

I am not his doctor, so I cannot say whether he is incompetent at this very moment but I can tell you that competency isn't a black and white issue. You can be competent one moment and incompetent the next.

I hope GA gets totally well and better and is able to fully and truthfully testify to all that he knows about Casey and what happened to Caylee!

Love and kisses! :)

but in the court of law you only need to present the "competent" self and the judge will say "see ya"--- It is up to the judge whether or not he is competent or not.....

I've been wondering about that. On one hand it may be a ploy to avoid testifying since he has to repeat what he said in GJ. I really do believe that what he's been through would be enough to make the sanest person nuts for awhile. He has some of the most damaging words to bring this into the trial.
So can he keep up the incompetency forever and will this throw a monkey wrench into the SA's case without his testimony?
My prayers are with him in the hopes that he can come to terms with al of this.

Its pretty obvious how one can commit suicide with sleeping pills, but how does that work with blood pressure medication? Just wondering.

Also, just my $0.02.............but a $35 hotel room? Ew.
