Police say parents are not answering vital questions #3

  • #821
Failed how? Crimes aren't solved overnight. Public pressure is on them and it can lead to one of them finally deciding to cut a deal.

Even if they do interrogate them separately, there is no guarantee they will tell the truth.

JMO
BBM
LE wants DB/JI to come in for separate interrogations. LE has failed to get what they want. One reason may be that they already got separate interrogations earlier on. Another reason may be that because of prior heavy handed interrogations DB/JI don't trust KCPD motives.

Not when initial days of unfettered access to the house produced absolutely no evidence for probable cause. They let police investigate. LE had the house for 3+ days all to themselves then they were there many times afterwards. Still nothing.

I will continue to hold the opinion that the missing child whom the parents reported missing from her crib is more than sufficient probable cause for a warrant to search their house.

Complaining about LE tactics just makes them look more guilty as far as I'm concerned.

They DID search the house. for DAYS! They needed no search warrant for it. They had permission. They also had permission for many searches afterwards. They also searched the entire neighborhood's houses with permission.

Yes ALL actions do. Even LE's actions and IMO this is the consequence of them.

LE aren't committing any crime but they sure do prosecute them, even if a body isn't found.

I guess if you believe that LE is infallible that would make sense. LE is made up of human beings. Human beings can make mistakes. Myself, I think they made some mistakes and it cost them.

Obtaining a search warrant is usually protocol when LE expect to seize evidence.

I think if my baby was missing they'd have to KICK me out of the police station! I would badger them 24/7 ! There would be no reason to ask me to come in for questioning! That's just my opinion!

No, I don't believe LE are infallible and I have a dislike for bad apples. But, in this case, I think LE has acted very professionally and patiently. LE can't force parents to speak to them individually but they certainly can point out their refusal to the public. The parents have made choices that can come back and bite them hard if they are charged. I think they will be charged. Absolutely.

And I think the majority of parents would agree with you.

I understand DB & JI got fed up with questioning, I'm sure they faced some tough questions and accusations. It's still no excuse, IMO, to not go back and have separate interviews. It's their child!

But LE mistated their refusal to the public and this is choice of LE is also biting back. If this misstated information was not a HUGE misstatement, they would not have gone back and retracted their statement. They would have just left it as it was.

That's up to them. All actions have consequences. My opinion is that they haven't cooperated. I am a member of the public. Police statements greatly influence public opinion. It is the public who serve on juries. Nobody can force these people to cooperate but they have only themselves to blame.

Refusing to sit down as individuals to answer questions is publicly perceived as reflection of guilt.

JMO

BBM Not by all of the public.

I am in NO way criticizing KCMO police or any other police!

I don't believe LE ever mis-states anything. Even with a retraction, the initial statement is still out there.....influencing public opinions.

All perfectly legal and I don't see any bite marks on LE.

I'm curious. Which choices that the parents have made? Do you mean charged with crime or if they go to a trial?

I didn't suggest all the public shares the same opinion. There would be no need to have 12 people on a jury if they all agreed on everything.

That may just happen. There is an inordinate amount of crime in KCMO as compared to Podunk or East Bumble F. Badgering LE is not a good idea.

Refusing to allow the children to be re-interviewed or allow themselves to be interviewed separately are just two examples. This has gone on for months now and still no Lisa.

I think it is just a matter of time before they are charged.

The children were re-interviewed. As for the parents not being re-interviewed, how would that affect them if they are charged with something.

Ooops, I see it has already been stated
