Police say parents are not answering vital questions #3

  • #841
The children were re-interviewed. As for the parents not being re-interviewed, how would that affect them if they are charged with something.

The children were re-interviewed only after great delay. The refusal of the parents to be interviewed separately is very damaging and can be used against them at trial.

I am still wondering what possible questions there could be that could only be asked separately that this case would totally hinge on. Ideas? What questions could be this important and could ONLY be done this way?

missing child is probable cause. They invited police to investigate by calling 911. Police are not the bad guys in this case.

I have to say ITA with the bolded. Seems that this fact gets lost in these discussions.

I don't know about very damaging. Some on a jury may see the delay as loving parents trying to protect their children. Making sure that a properly trained person did the interviews.

Officials say the interviewer, who specializes in gathering information from traumatized children, is not an FBI Agent.

These questions should have all been addressed on the very first interview. If they weren't then that is a problem. They were there multiple times separately for all of this to be done.

Usually it's done as early as possible to see if two individuals stories match. That was done if I recall. The only reason to do it again later that I can see is to try and get one person to implicate another in some kind of wrong doing. MOO.

I don't think that KCPD are the bad guys. Making a mistake in interrogating people doesn't make them the bad guys by any stretch of the imagination.

I am sure this did happen in the beginning which is why they don't want to do it again. I would also think that if JI thought she had anything to do with it, he has every right to kick her to the curb. It is his house, not hers. With no baby, he has absolutely no ties to her on a non-voluntary basis. His entire relationship with her, at the moment, is entirely voluntary.

I'm sure LE has new questions that they'd like answered. I have new questions for my son's attorney every day. Things I didn't think of, things I just thought of.

The few measly hours that the Irwin's sat down with LE is not nearly enough because LE has now been investigating for over 3 months, soon 4. Their leads will garner new questions.

Maybe LE found something on a search they'd like to see the Irwin's actual reaction to upon hearing of it.

It's fuzzy math why the family refuses to help locate their child. IMHO she's dead, they know it and they want it to all go away. They are broke so they have to get Dr. Phil to float some dough for some new baubles. They are coached as to of course NEVER say anything to Dr. Phil except old hat stuff.

Nothing will be gained from Phil except they get cash and probably some new wheels and JT of course gets his cut.

Shameful but may Baby Lisa find peace in death that she sure didn't find in life. I just hope she didn't suffer, poor thing.

My opinion, as always.

drug/alcohol issues Deborah has admitted to drinking; they have her on vid purchasing wine w/her brother.

debts This would be very easily verified w/the tax office in Liberty, MO. Are taxes owed on vehicles/house/etc.

relationship issues Deborah's inlaw's, Jeremy's parents and 1st husband's parents spoke highly of her; Baby Lisa's grandparents still stand behind her.

household dynamics 2 parents, 3 children and extended family; no skeletons there.

enemies Remember the list of names Jeremy and Deborah gave LE in the beginning?

suspicions See above comment.

I'll ask again, how is this relevant in the off chance (as some refuse to even consider) that they are innocent of wrongdoing? How is interviewing them seperate going to be any more beneficial to them them interviewing them together?

You're only looking at the 'not wanting to be interviewed seperate' from a guilty angle.

I suppose if people choose to believe the parents are cooperating and don't like Law Enforcement, they will stand up for the parents and announce they are talking to the FBI. I don't know how many of you actually ever talked to the FBI but it is very unlikely that these two are "talking" with them.

They make local LE look like "Mary Poppins". I can guarantee you these two are not sitting down and having a cup of tea with anyone in the FBI.

Up till recently the FBI didn't talk much to LE and I suspect that hasn't changed all that much. FBI have a very different job than LE. FBI is used as a support for services. I doubt the FBI has even spoken to the parents about what happened the day/night the baby vanished.

If these parents think LE is rude, nasty, etc., they haven't seen anything yet. The only time I've seen FBI nice is when they profile you and you have no idea it is happening when they do it. They are cordial during that conversation. The parents are not cooperating with LE. The attorneys have a strong dislike for LE (goes with the territory) and the parents do too.

Police probably do have some questions to ask. Do bad they alienated the people that they wish to ask these questions. MOO.

You are exactly right. :)

Deborah went in and spoke with LE in the beginning.

THEN Jeremy went in and spoke with LE in the beginning.

Deborah speaks to LE + Jeremy speaks to LE = 2/TWO/DOS/DEUX interviews. I am math challenged and I get it.

Deborah and Jeremy have done SEPARATE interviews ALREADY!

Why Dr. Phil? Articles say that the parents say he'll keep HIGH profile on the case??? WTHeck? Has Dr. Phil ever mentioned the case.

CNN/HLN/Jim Spellman have given MORE attention to this case than any network around. Is CNN with international coverage not high profile enough?

Looks to me like they don't really want high profile coverage at all.

CNN should have been given the interview.

People are now telling us this couple has good relationships, really? Still waiting to find any PICS of Jeremy's parents with Lisa. Any pics of Jeremy and Deb with his parents? And now we are hearing what wonderful parents JI/DB are....sure, Just like all the other parents who use drugs, alcohol and lose their kids. ..But "they were such good parents"...say the family, friends.

...anyone ever here more about the complaint filed and given to Jeremy around the time this happened? Looks like that disappeared.

...Come think of it, there aren't very many pics of Lisa at all. One gets the impression that the few momentos showed were recently placed there. Just looking at her nursery is creepy. It is cold, dark and ugly with a very large black bag covering a window, using duck tape. No sun or light for Lisa. It doesn't show any warmth and ,imo, love.

Too bad for Baby Lisa the parents don't give enough about her to grow a spine and agree to BE ELIMINATED.

It's simple, they really just don't seem to into trying to locate their missing child.

4 months now, and they've hidden for 3 and 1/2. Speaks volumes.:maddening:

You've got proof that bag was on the window before the searches? Because if it was I'm not sure LE would nicely put the bags over the window after they were done checking the windows. But that's O/T.

What complaint are you referring to?

I guess I'm not understanding. So if the parents had already done 50 separate interviews and the police wanted them to come in again for another interview, they shouldn't be expected to b/c they've already done separate interviews? Who cares how many times, how many hours they've talked to LE, it's their daughter! I don't understand why any parent wouldn't submit to a million interviews if it meant the police possibly being able to find their child.

What if the police could just ask them tons and tons of questions and it jogs the memory of DB or JI and they finally remember some minor detail that brings their daughter home? Nope not worth the bother of talking to the police.
