Female from doorbell video located safely.

This afternoon around 3 p.m. Wichita Police Investigators received a phone call, from a female claiming to be the individual investigators were attempting to identify. Investigators immediately responded to her location, made contact, and transported her to City Hall for further investigation.

Investigators are conducting interviews currently. We have identified the female as a 35-year-old female who lives in the area where the video was captured. At this stage of the investigation, we believe this incident is a case of domestic violence between the female and her boyfriend. The female does not have any significant injuries.

We want to thank the public for sharing the video and still images that generated additional attention about this incident, we do believe it led the female to call us saying she was the person we were looking for.

As we stressed this morning, we do not have any reason to believe there is ongoing danger to the general public.

We are continuing our investigation into the video and if the case will be presented to the appropriate attorney’s office for formal charging consideration.”

BBM and I'm glad she's safe, but is the dude who grabbed her in custody or being investigated? Are they helping the woman (and children, if any) get a safe place to stay? MOO unless he's being held somewhere, I think it's shortsighted to declare that he's not a danger to the general public.

Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, investigators received a phone call from a woman who said she was the woman seen being taken in the video. Officers are now interviewing her.

Police said the 35-year-old woman lives in the area where the video was recorded. They believe this was a case of domestic violence involving her boyfriend. She did not suffer any significant injuries.

In that article, IIRC, it said LE was still investigating the incident. I'm hoping they connect her with some support to help her understand that it will only get worse. From her clothing, it looked like she, and maybe he also, were out to a bar or a club or a party, and something set him off. Probably jealousy.

She needs to take a hint and get away from him NOW.

I live in East Wichita and the area this happened isn't a very good part of town. A lot of gang activity is actually around there and reports of shootings and robberies happen frequently.

Good to hear the lady has been found safe but area this happened isn't an area you want to spend too much time around.
