For all of you that voted yes, would you want someone filming the recovery of one your loved ones remains?

I didn't think so.

If I were a little lost soul who's parents or family to be a fact, didn't give a rat's 🤬🤬* about me, then I would not care what it took or the conditions to finally let me rest in peace.

As much as I would like Caylee to be found and laid to rest properly, I don't think having her remains found on camera would be a dignified way to do it. This is all about justice and dignity for Caylee, isn't it.

I have nothing against LP, but he has inserted himself into this case and I wonder if he would be involved if cameras were not around. Now I'm not saying that he doesn't care about Caylee, but I think he cares about himself first and foremost.

No you dont. Trust me, it wasn't pretty. :furious:

I can't understand what this world is coming to when the death of a little girl and the search for her body becomes a money making media event. Sorry, I don't for one second believe that LP, as the star of the show, will not be making money for himself, and SHAME on whichever media outlet it is that wants exclusive rights. A child is dead for gosh sakes, remember Caylee?

You know, the saddest part of this whole thing is that the only reason the $200k is being offered is because we, the people who claim to care so much about Caylee, would be so eager to tune in and watch when/if her remains are recovered. Someone is hoping to make big profits off this $200k investment...and when they do, they can have a big party to celebrate Caylee's death.

I totally agree with you, as always you're the perfect voice of reason Chilly.

Then it shouldn't be brought up that he's lost money, especially when we don't know that to be true.

In the context of a missing 3 year old, I am lost as to why you feel such outrage about this. You would really rather have her out there rotting somewhere and never laid to rest than to see someone profit from her body being found??

Can I assume that means that you would not support members of LE being paid overtime for taking part in a search?? Or do you pick and choose who should profit, and if someone you don't like is profitting, you think the search should just end so that that person can't make any money from it???

BTW, I don't know or care if he is making money from it. As long as he is genuine in his search efforts and is out there doing what he can to find Caylee, that's all that matters to me.

:clap::clap:

ITA, unless I'm getting paid for it of course...lol. I also profit from crime, as do police, judges, security guards etc. Are we all awful people who should starve to carry out our jobs and maintain the public's respect??

ETA, maybe we should ask Yuri to take some unpaid leave time as we wouldn't want him profitting from his ongoing involvement in the investigation. I think it's ridiculous to suggest that just because someone is paid to assist in these circumstances, that we judge them for that.

And he should take Nancy Grace with him. And all the folks at TruTV... not reality.... actuality.

You're comparing LP's media events to a doctor saving children's lives? :waitasec:

As the sheriff said, "Caylee's body needs to be found."

Caylee or something with her may even be important evidence.

You can't protect living children without holding those who harm them fully accountable. Finding Caylee might bring us closer to the truth of what happened.

Susan Smith's car was filmed coming out of the lake. Would it have been better if Susan S. had kept quiet? Wouldn't someone like LP searching the bottom of that lake have been a good thing if Susan S. had remained tight lipped???? Search and rescue teams did cover the area close to where Susan S.'s boys were.

Soldiers shouldn't get left behind...nor should children.

IMO

Should we prevent the media from showing up at natural disasters or at fires.... just in the event that they film & air something we wouldn't like?

I think it's only on very rare occasions that we have seen a reputable news source or person cross the line like that.

Filming an active search does NOT mean anyone's planning on filming remains OR that it would be shown in public if it was indeed filmed.

I have a lot more faith in the morality of people than to even believe this idea even crossed anyone's mind when suggesting this 'deal.'

:clap::clap::clap:

I really don't understand everyone's concern. Also, it really wouldn't be in the film company's interest to offend the very people they want to have watch it.

I say yes, Leonard is the one that continues to search for Caylee and I know for a fact he is genuine, I live in Sacramento also Leonard is a good man.

It depends on a ot of things. Who is doing the offering and what for??

A documentery is going to make money. Who they film, should recieve some of that money.

Is this a documentry??

I know some folks are making a huge deal out of folks possibly making money off of death. But that is reality. It's wrong to assume that EVERYONE should do stuff for free. IT doesn't jive with the fact that donations are raised. What are the donations raised for?? Because stuff has to be bought, services have to be bought. People have to be paid for their expertise.

AT this point he has given funds, bought things and services in the search for Caylee. He has brought attention for Caylee (PR is priceless! Ask anyone who needs info "out there.") He has encouraged donations for the serach for Caylee and kept the story in the news.

So I would nickle an dime him. But it would make a difference who was doing the asking and why. I"m not sure he would be the best for a documentry. But he is good on the camera. Which might be why they are asking him. <shrug>

LE earns every bit of their pay, they're not selling media rights for fun and profit. LP is a bounty hunter - that's all he is. He hunts down criminals for a living. He's not a hero, not a God, he's not even honest half the time, and he's certainly not an expert in looking for the remains of lost children.

If I felt for one minute that his true interest was in finding little Caylee, I'd support his efforts 100%. But I just can't see that as being the case here, he's interested only in making himself famous and in raking in the bucks.

He's interfering with a police investigation, he's corrupting the jury pool, and he's laughing about it all the way to the bank. So no, I can't support that.

I voted no - and am a little disappointed that "HE*L NO!" wasn't one of the choices.

Really? I assume then that when the media helicopters started flying over the TES searches that you feel they should have been called off???

HOW is he interfering w/ the investigation?

Why would society even want to start allowing LE to have the final say in what public areas are searched & which ones are not searched?

I voted yes and believe that if LP does not do a search to find her no one will. She will be lost among all the other poor children and she deserves a proper buriel. No I don't like that money is being made off this case but it is everywhere you look I say let this poor child be found and laid to rest.

LE has already asked repeatedly that independents do not carry on their own searches to maintain the integrity of the investigation. They have their reasons, don't you think? This isn't a treasure hunt.

I guess there are those people that just want everyone not to give a shi*t and move on. :furious:

Why does everyone seem to have the impression that no one is looking for Caylee? They are.

I could maybe understand this if THEY WERE ACTUALLY SEARCHING but I guess their are people out there with a heart that don't want her out there.
