Either way whether Shannan truly brought it up or JB used it as a cover story to explain his anger and why he wanted Shannan out of his house the night she died ,its too much of a bizarre coincidence that during the search for Shannon the remains of a savagely murdered transvestite prostitute would be found buried on Gilgo beach..... Its hard to hear JB story and then not assume that there is a some connection between himself and the murdered transvestite.. after all hes freely admitting that the idea that Shannon was a transvestite enraged him

I believe any man expecting a female would become enraged to find out it's really a male under the clothing. I've heard many a story about that particular subject to think otherwise.

I took the time to read entire threads before I felt comfortable posting. I have also followed this story & LISK closely since the beginning. I read the most recent posts on this thread and felt as though things were going off track and misinformation was getting posted. That in turn created more posts correcting the incorrect posts, it got confusing for me.

I got frustrated momentarily...thanks for the reminder that mistakes are humanness, how true!

Did Shannan have the money from JB in her possession? I've never heard that reported when SCPD found her belongings....

Usual procedure in the sex trade is for the woman to receive the money up front or leave immediately. Now in some cases they receive drugs in lieu of, or in addition to cash. However since SG was needing cash to purchase a present for her mother's birthday I believe she would have received cash. I do think it was a substantial amount of cash to justify the travel to Oak Beach.

I sense that the money was removed from her prior to or at the time of her death. Likely suspects for taking the cash are MP, 'I got my money now I can go', CPH 'She has to pay me for treating her', or the Killer.

Somebody might suggest that wild animals or the wind dispersed the money or Shannan dropped it while running, or even that a corrupt cop going through her possessions pocketed it.

If the SCPD did find the money, that would in my view support the theory of accidental death, if they found no money then I lean toward the fact it was a homicide.

Excellent point. My intuition speaks loudly that no money was found with shannan. In all due, honesty, I recall reading that Brewer refused to pay shannan?

Possibly, but chief Varrone was quoted as saying Pak was contacted by a member of the Oak Beach community that night re an escort... Maybe Pak and Brewer had done business before ... it's just speculation.. but when the chief made his statement to the public safety board you think would have had his facts correct... possibly the Pak Brewer connection is something to police don't want to elaborate on

Let me clarify that an honest mistake is one thing. However, to intentionally lie about having the facts regarding this case is disturbing.

The area where her personal items were found could actually be the site of a struggle ... during the fight her phone is discarded along with her personal items.. her pants are torn off .. it makes more sense than the idea that she just tossed those items away there and ran into the swamp

Yes,thats true but most men wouldn't bash the guys skull in and bury him on a desolate beach...I only pointed out that its very strange that JB would bring up this weird story about he and Shannan conversing about a transvestite and then after spending 3 hours with her JBR would suddenly believe she was possibly a transvestite ..and then to top it off a murdered transvestite is later found buried at Gilgo

MP's phone # was being used for SG's calls that night??? JB found SG's ad on Craigslist, right? Shannan had to leave a way to contact her without giving out her phone number, right? IMO

If memory serves me, it was PH's job within that Oak Beach Community to handle security tapes. The tapes were never available to police since there was never a investigation into Shannan's disappearance that morning.

Dr. Hackett was not in charge of the cameras at OB. Another resident was. I cant recall his name right now.

The whole story given by LE never made sense. LE was announcing "she probably drowned" before her body was even found. How can LE speculate a drowning without a body? What a nightmare that would have been for Shannan's family to hear on the news WITHOUT a body.

Just because items that belonged to Shannan were found 18 months after her disappearance doesn't mean she was dead or probably drowned.

I just found the above story and provided the link. This article provides so many answers to questions here. It's like the encapsulated version of all the little questions we have on this thread. I think it's a must read for anyone interested in Shannan Gilbert's disappearance.

That is correct, but he had been previously in charge and was familiar with the system, I believe this info came from a poster who lived in Oak Beach.

Nobody has any proof they were deliberately erased... it has been suggested that since they were never requested they were just recorded over after a certain time period...it's very strange though that after at least 2 residents called 911 about a frantic woman in fear being presumed by a man in an SUV and the responding officer wouldn't at least request the tapes...

They were never requested because the responding officer went to GC's house. He/She then did a cursory look around the neighborhood, didn't see the girl SG and left. End of story.

SCPD wasn't actively investigating SG's disappearance at that point. It was 6:00 in the morning, neighbor's heard screaming, SG knocking on a couple of doors, and she was never seen alive again by anyone who will openly admit it.
