Post Verdict -Working Out The Unresolved Questions

Anybody make any headway in supposition of why she told Ryan she would be there when she knew she couldn't have been there within a few hours of that time? It does seem odd that she would throw a red flag up before the covert activities really began, there had to have been a logical reason for doing so to her, but what?

I have said before here on the site that she didn't tell Ryan she'd be late because she didn't think she would be. She thought she'd arrive at 3 or 4am, kill travis in his sleep perhaps, and be on her merry way. She probably figured she could explain arriving to Ryan a few hours late, but not a whole DAY late.

But she didn't realize that Travis' roommate would be home. She couldn't do it with the roommate there and she fell asleep either with Travis or outside in her car, who knows?

After all that driving, I can imagine that she did remain asleep and didn't hear the roommate leave, didn't hear Travis texting people or putting together a floor cleaner.

It's possible she lured him into sex with the promise from the sex tape because he'd been planning to go to her state to do it, but then he decided he wasn't visiting her after 5.26. She might have coaxed him back into that fantasy, hoping to tie him to the bed but he wasn't trying to be tied up. Then she had to think of something else. The shower photos.

What I don't understand and will never understand is how Travis had sex with her and she hadn't had a shower --for all we know-- since she'd been with Matt. But maybe she took her shower before the sex and lied about taking it after. I don't know, but she had to stink. I can't imagine she was fresh down there.

It just makes no sense for her to know what he'd watched on youtube at 4am unless it was true. She had no reason to believe she'd need to snoop through his computer and know that information in case her plan fell apart. So I believe she knew it because she saw him doing it. I don't believe she got on his computer after sneaking in while he was sleeping because that leaves a record that she was there, and she could have gotten caught downstairs doing that by the roommate or Travis.

I find it odd that Naps would not have heard her enter the house, but it equally makes no sense that she'd sleep outside in a car in his area or vicinity, where someone might notice a woman in a neighborhood sleeping in her car. My guess is she didn't want to be seen in AZ, so she was most likely inside his house that night and morning, not conspicuously somewhere else in Mesa where she could be seen.

I also think she went straight to Travis' house and was in there that night because it wouldn't make sense for her to be elsewhere when she knew she had to be to Ryan. She was late, so arbitrarily waiting until after 1pm to even make her presence known to Travis is counter intuitive to sticking to her plan. It's possible she could have hid in the yard all night and morning, trying not to be seen by neighbors until the roommate left the house, but the much simpler explanation is she arrived, made herself known to Travis, and learned that a roommate was home.

But I do find it odd the way she explained to Flores the floor cleaning incident. She explained it as if she had walked in during the middle of it. There is no explanation of how it got started and no note that the cleaner had been out and the furniture stacked the night before. She kind of just blurts out, "He was cleaning the floors...or something..."

I can also imagine that after whatever transpired upstairs, she might have gone to shower, and he went back to working on the floors, something she hadn't known he'd been doing while she'd been asleep.

Barring if a roommate said he saw travis with this cleaner, I might even say Jodi cleaned the floors herself; however, I'm sure they tested that floor cleaner for blood, right?

Thanks for your thoughts WM (and long time no see :)), you make very valid points. I think the floor cleaner thing is very significant, she seeemed to have no idea about it, only that she saw what we saw (in the pics taken later), the cleaner was out and the furniture was off the tile, but she knew nothing else. Which leads me to believe she was not there when he began prepping to clean the floors or put the new cleaner together.

Was she still sleeping in her car while waiting for Zack to leave? Enrique was gone by 6:30 but Zack didn't leave to return the rental car until around 8:30. Enrique was the new roommate and she had no idea about his schedule, but Zack had been there since Jan. and she had months to find out when he came and went on a normal basis. But that morning wasn't normal for him, having the rental and needing to return it, maybe she did know it was his usual day off but she wouldn't have known about the car.

We know she was in his office though, she knew what the last thing was he did on his laptop, and we know the window screen was lying on the ground outside on the side of the house, and he didn't seem to have an alarm system, so she very well could have come in through that window undetected.

I don't think she knew he texted C. Hughes at 12:15 or she would have found a way to wind that into her story, instead she told Flores they slept until after 1:00.

The floor cleaner and his text tells me they did not sleep together, nor were those bedroom photos taken that day. She did tell Flores they made a video using her camera, so why did they find no evidence of that on her camera?

Was the second camera memory card in the washer from her camera?

Arrrggg, still so many questions.

The photos were taken that day with his camera. She had just changed her hair color which is obvious in the photos. As far as the video, it appears she lied about that. jmo

isn't it possible that Arias was assembling the floor cleaner to try & clean up the blood but then decided she didn't have time to use it?

I;m rewatching Day 25, JM is asking her about taking the photos and he shows the video portion where she's talking to Flores about them, teling him about the shaving pic she took and convincing Travis about taking the 'Calvin Klein' pics, she is very clear in telling JM that the conversation about taking the shower pics happened when she took the shaving pic (oops) around the 13:00 minute mark:

Jodi Arias Trial Day 25 (Full) - YouTube

JM: "...that's the same thing we're talking about here on June 4th."

JA: "No, that's the distinction, we had discussed the shower photos long before this."

Then they get into the confusion about which event she was telling Flores about, the shaving pics and the shower pics - but why do they have the 'Calvin Klein' conversation when she's taking the shaving pic in January yet the shower pics aren't taken until June 4th?

Yeah, I was pondering along those lines myself, but I couldn't remember if the roommate who'd been there had said he'd seen Travis with the cleaner.

The problem is Enrique has his days mixed up. He wasn't even in the house that morning. It was Zach, as I understand it. I had never heard that before. Great catch. I also hadn't ever thought of what she was saying in that way before. It had sounded to me like she was just talking in circles, like normal, and had gone back in time to distinctly discuss the shaving photo. But now that you've put it in this light, it makes perfect sense that she brought it up before because, after all, what was the conversation when they were discussing taking these "cancun body" pictures?

Maybe when he started working out, she was already telling him that he needed to take these pictures to show his improvement. "Yeah, we can do like a "calvin klein" shoot. Wouldn't that be cool?" I can totally see it evolving from there over time, and then her showing up at the house because, "well, we have to get this cancun body documented like we said, and I promised you'd I'd do it before I moved. And we've gotta do this sex tape since you're not coming out to visit me later. And here's these other pictures I was holding hostage."

Good to see you, too.

I believe the pictures are real. I can't think of a single reason that she'd plant them on the camera only to delete them. I also don't think that you can or could upload pictures from a camera or phone to another camera or phone in that day and age. You'd have to have the right cords and compatible software. I am not even sure we can do it in this day and age.

I suppose if she'd had her laptop, she could have transferred the pictures to the camera. but when would she have had time for all that? That crime scene was exhausting, she had to get all that blood off of her just to go downstairs, and she had to get out of there to get to Utah. When in her short visit with Travis would she have loaded these pics on his camera only to delete them later?

Since the memory card had Travis' biking pictures on it, too, I have to believe it was his memory card. I do not understand all the talk of two memory cards.

I actually do believe she probably did take a video and probably had other murder pictures. I believe it's probably the reason she acted to Travis like she didn't know how to use video for his camera. How else would she get her souvenirs of the day if he'd probably already suggested using his camera?

As far as nothing being found on her camera, well, she had her camera for weeks before the police took it. She could have overwritten the files, hidden the memory card, or decided that she just needed to throw that memory card away because it was too risky to keep it.

I heard the talk of the camera bag being outside the room. A valid question was raised, but we have no way of knowing where he'd kept his camera--in

the office with other electronics, in the car because he'd just used it, etc. We don't know if he even kept the camera in the bag all the time. He could have gone downstairs to get the camera and plopped on the beanbag chair there to take it out of the bag and show it to Jodi.

I can also see her in the bedroom asking him if she could see the camera, and he went to get it, she was on her way downstairs, so they met at the top of the stairs, plopped there and talked about the camera. Then she gets her "bright idea" to do sex photos and their 🤬🤬🤬🤬? Or he could have been knocked out sleeping when she went down to find it and she sat out in the other room learning how to use it until he called her name to get her snooping butt back into the bedroom. She returns with the camera, but not the case, and the picture talking begins. Just imagining scenarios.

I just see no reason, if she sneaks in there without him knowing, that she'd go find his camera, get it ready in the other room and then go into the bathroom for the norman bates pictures. That would put her at risk of him getting out of the shower prematurely, of her being seen by roommates when she doesn't know where they are, or her being heard by Naps, who'd bark or start making playing noises, alerting Travis.

If she's sneaking up on him in the shower and he hasn't even seen her, there's no reason to even be taking pictures or using his camera when she'd brought her own. All she had to do was go in the bathroom and kill him and be done.

It just makes more sense that he let her in the house or she made no secret to him of her arrival. I don't understand why he let her stay. Maybe she lied that she was stopping through on the way to utah to pick up stuff she'd left there when she'd moved? Then she claimed too tired from her drive, so he let her sleep there?

I still don't get why he'd have sex or take pictures with her when she wasn't fresh after all that driving.

she could have sneaked out the office window if she was still there when a roommate returned. I'd imagine that the office or wash room was one of the last places she was at, and the roommate could have interrupted her clean up. I find it amazing that there was no blood from his room to the outer room own the stairs, or trailing into the office or laundry room. That's why I say she might have used that floor cleaner. It's amazing that she had no details about that cleaner, but so many about other stuff.

If she didn't really know what was up with the cleaner, she could have told Flores that it was out, so a roommate was probably setting up to clean. Why choose Travis as the person doing the cleaning unless she did see it or it was herself and she knew the roommates would deny putting it there.

Yes, I believe that one of the roommates said they only saw the cleaner out and the furniture off the tile, but not having seen Travis put it together or use it. Agree too about the roommates confusion on which things happened which days and being unreliable as to what they saw when, but one or both did notice the cleaner put together and sitting in the middle of the room 'on the day things seemed strange' (paraphrased, can't recall exact words) as one of them told Flores.

The only reason I can think of for her to plant those pics is if she had planned the covert trip to plant the pics for Mimi to find in Cancun and Travis caught her, they argued and she pulled her weapon(s). I don't put it past her to decide she really was going to be the worst thing that ever happened to him by destroying his relationship with Mimi (as she thought then Mimi liked him in that way). To me it doesn't matter what her original intention was of going there, but based on Travis not having called her once she left Yreka, I really don't think he knew she was coming to Mesa.

Attached are the pics of the two memory cards, the back door and the camera in the washer; as testified, one card was in the washer and one was in the camera. Since Sony used a proprietary card, the other could not fit in his camera but was nonetheless in the washer with the back door of the camera that came off.

In the video above, she also says after they had sex she went across the hall to use the bathroom, but this 'event' supposedly took place in the bedroom when pics were taken, so how did she get downstairs to use the bathroom across from the office?

She has a million stories, and none of them match up. lol

I don't recall seeing the last three evidence pictures, at least not as clearly as your thumbnails. Do you know the date that these were shown in court?

The second image does help to establish a second memory card, and visually, it seems correct for the Sony camera.

Yeah, I was pondering along those lines myself, but I couldn't remember if the roommate who'd been there had said he'd seen Travis with the cleaner.

The problem is Enrique has his days mixed up. He wasn't even in the house that morning. It was Zach, as I understand it. I say this because, IIRC, enrique had said he'd seen Travis with the cleaner that day. Isn't that right, according to the police report?

I believe what Enrique said was he saw the cleaner out and the furniture moved as if someone were going to clean the floor when he arrived home that night, later than usual. Also Zach's girlfriend was not out of town it was her parents and Zach was helping his girlfriend housesit. They returned to the house around 3pm on the 4th to watch a movie in Zach's room and left somewhere around 4pm. Just my recollection.

I think it was Heather (during prosecution witnesses) who showed the evidence bag with the blue camera card and pics of the camera in the washer (as best I can recall), I don't remember when the back door was shown or the pic of the Sony card on the washer.

Here's Flores' report with those details:

I'm totally confused now. I don't know where I got this cruise and housesitting info from. Browsing over the police report, it said something about Zach's girlfriend's mother's birthday. Were her parents on a cruise at all? I don't know where i got this from.

Geeves, I can't see those pictures. One person said they were clear, but for me, they are very dark. Can you point out in the camera in the washer photo where the memory card is?

I remember WAY up thread, someone showed a picture of a cord on Travis' desk and it had some brown staining on it. I wonder what that cord went to because according to the camera tech, he had to find himself a cord for the camera.

On day 6 at the beginning, the camera guy says that he found the memory stick inside the camera, and it had a cover on it--even though it was inside the camera. When he held the plastic bag up with the stick in it, it appeared to be a blue memory stick. He holds it up and discusses it about 5 minutes into David lohr's day 5 on youtube.

So what color is the other stick and when do they discuss it?

I don't see how we've concluded that there are two memory sticks.

I don't know what that is, hadn't noticed it before (some sleuth, eh? lol) I'll take a closer look and see if I can identify it but it looks odd stuck to the wall whatever it is.

I'll also try to lighten the washer pic and maybe label it if I can't make it easy enough to see what's in there. I also have the pic of the USB cord on Travis' desk, that has some dark smudges on it, that was never tested nor entered into evidence during the trial. I'll be back (in my best Arnold voice).

That's the mystery, Melendez says in testimony that when he received the camera, it was all together, card in, door on, only the shutter button loose. But when CSI (I believe it was Heather) testified she said the camera's back door was found in the bottom of the washer. I can't recall if she also said the memory card was there with the door because there was no testimony of the second camera memory card, but we have the pic of the blue memory card (that does not fit that camera) in an evidence bag, and we have the Sony card on top of the washer with an evidence marker.

No one has yet to testify that there were two memory cards as far as I have seen, read or heard, but we have the pics and know there are two cards. Someone put the Sony card in the camera and replaced the back door before the camera was given to Melendez, we don't know who, or what was done with the blue card except placing it in an evidence bag and it being presented as the card that fits the camera (which it does not).

Attached are the camera in the washer, couldn't get it much lighter so circled it, also two screenshots I took when Heather was testifying on Day 2, showing the memory card (the blue one, not the Sony) tagged as evidence item #215, and also a pic of the usb cord on Travis' desk.
