Post Verdict -Working Out The Unresolved Questions

Spending a lot of time trying to guess or figure the route C.M. took, once in Utah. I do think it's key to the missing accessories to her crime. (Not sure about the .25 auto though. I think she was VERY reluctant to part with it. She was too quick to buy another gun.)

I want to work on the route too, I keep remembering questions I've had about pics and wanted to post for dscussion before I forgot again. lol

I keep meaning to do some google sat. images of the areas there and see what can be seen, hopefully tonight I can get to that.

Yeah, I can only make out the metal edge and that it's relatively flat.

Since we know she was outside of Kingman, NV when she called Travis at what - 11:47 p.m.? And she didn't reach Ryan until about 13 hours later (Utah an hour ahead of AZ with DST?), a drive that should take about 6.5 hours, so we have somewhere around 6.5 hours missing.

There are a lot of state parks on her route through Utah down there, I guess she could have pulled over and slept a few hours in one. Unless she wanted to wait until sun-up - I wonder if we can find sun up time and where she'd be if she drove until it got light enough for her to detour for weaponry disposal?

I notice there's a town named Salina, UT (past Fillmore, take Rt 50 south from 15), would be an easy name to remember should she ever want to visit her weapons in the future.

There's a big black patchy area east of Fillmore, anyone know what that is? Looks like the tar pits escaped from LaBrea.

Southern Tent Mt., Wasatch Plateau, Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, South East Wales, Osiris and Fruita are some of the likely general areas I've been scrutinizing as burial grounds, so to speak. All in Utah.

I can't locate the tar pit east of Fillmore but surely she would be drawn to that. Any object or even clothing would sink.

That article helps a bit to fill in the May timeline:

May 10 - Recorded sex tape

May 16 - Sends Travis letter saying she is minusing herself out of his life.

May 22 - Writes in diary that there are several explicit photos and 2 recorded sex tapes on this phone.

May 26 - 'You are the worst thing that ever happened to me' text from Travis.

May 28 - Burglary at grandparents house w/gun stolen.

June 1-2: Up all night with calls between she and Travis, leaves for Redding early a.m

Do we know of other occurrences on specific days in May?

The only thing that makes sense is that JA's hair is brown in the pictures. She never had brown hair throughout her relationship with Travis. That is physical evidence that can't be disputed. jmo

There are pics of her in May with brown hair, and mention of her hair color in the article (and his not mentioning to her that it's changed when he looks at her profile pic on May 10), I think it makes pretty good sense. If only we had that April pic of her in the UHaul, that would certainly settle the case, eh?

Putting together the statements in the sex tape with the nudies is good work, the last point being the most important I think - there was only one occurrence of the tootsie pop play and we have a picture of it, and it was spoken about on May 10th, so those nudie pics could not have been taken on June 4th.

Any clue what the arrow points to in this pic (something lying on the corner shelf)?

Can't see that shelf well in most other pics to try and see what it is or if it's a constant in all the shower pics.

This isn't the one I mentioned above about being confused about, I thought I had a good pic of the lower shower edge that I wanted to comapre with the sitting shower pic. I just can't figure out why the edge looks so different, there should be a metal strip running along the bottom but instead we see white fading into reddish orange. It just doesn't look right to my eye for some reason. I wouldn't expect metal to be so reflective that you couldn't see it, but I can't see it in the sitting shower pic.

I think I see it in this photo too geevee. I was going to guess razor but he's obviously shaving in this pic. Unless of course he's got a collection of razors.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but the ceiling pic...is the shower door open?

Wasn't the Tootsie reference in her journal on a different date when she is talking about them being in the tub together. It was mentioned on May 10th but there is no proof it did not happen again on the 4th of June. I have not seen any pictures from June 4th that had a Tootsie Pop in them. Plus the pictures were on the disk from TA's camera.

This is from Det. Melendez's testimony:

Re: Camera--Camera was in the washer, as all in one piece, memory stick was in the camera. Melendez had to buy a power cord. Camera doesn't appear to be ruined. There is nothing broken on it other than the button to take the photos is missing as it fell off when Melendez was handling the camera. The camera button is rubber.
--If the camera were upside down the button would be hitting the ground.
--When Melendez got the camera it wasn't wet. He couldn't really tell as he used gloved hands. It wasn't noted in his report if the camera was wet or smelled like bleach. He doesn't think he could smell bleach.
--The memory stick did not appear to be crushed and did not look like somebody tried to break it.

He only refers to one memory stick and there is only one stick in the evidence bag presented in court. So it's not clear why we think there were two, other than JA saying there could have been two.
