Problem is....how does a young girl go unidentified by her family who the Tattoo Artist saw her visiting with in Connecticut?

I would look more closely at the tattoo artist. His story doesnt add up. You have to give your name and sign a document when you get a tattoo.

Oh ok. I've thought so too. I think the SK wanted to slice of the Remy's Angel part of the tattoo and not the whole thing.

Yes, because my stupid perp is worried about the "Remy" part and once he clears that off he's satisfied with his job. Because in his previous kill "peaches" tat alone did not return a name for Peaches Doe.

I think the SK saying to Terry "I know where you be at" prolly means he is familiar with 46th st (?) where Terry hung out pimping. Then you've got those pictures of JT hanging out with her pimp Remy at Union Square. Thing is most guys you'd find hanging out on the corners in Times Sq or Union Sq hustling don't have a car!

LL.... can you direct me to where the photo you mention is...is it on JT thread?

I don't want to misrepresent myself, because I have no inside knowledge on this. I'm just going by what I read. :)

That said, the FBI manual I linked to does suggest that some serial killers, like BTK, have found something to replace, or at least distract them from, their killing urges. At the same time, IIRC, BTK had also decided he was going to kill again and had begun planning when he was arrested.

In his book Serial Killers: The Method and Madness of Monsters (Berkley Books; 2004; pp 16-17), Peter Vronsky says that some SKs stop killing because they die, commit suicide, confess, allow themselves to get caught, grow old, become bored, or become burned out on their fantasy and process.

Also, IIRC, the Boston Strangler ceased killing and began raping instead.

It's interesting to consider that some serial killers might find something that replaces whatever psychological need he has to kill. If one were to assume that a particular killer does what he does because he needs to feel powerful, and that this same killer's family dynamic somehow changed and he now feels powerful within that circle, it's not difficult to see how he might stop killing (at least for awhile). If a different serial killer kills because the driving need is to feel accomplished, competent, special...it's not difficult to see how a new job, a promotion, what have you, might replace his need to kill. I'm over-simplify, of course, but the general concept makes sense, imo. I do wonder, though, how much of his ability to stop killing, and satisfy his twisted psychological need (whatever that may be) elsewhere, comes from his desire to stop. What we usually find in most serial killers is escalation...the same thing he has already done no longer satisfies him. It's like a heroin addict who builds up a tolerance...he's constantly chasing the dragon. Keeping with this same analogy, most heroin addicts (every single one I know, and from my own personal experience) don't want to stop doing heroin, what they do want is to stop is all the bs that their addiction carries along with it. Serial killing carries along ALOT of unwanted BS, not the least of which is getting caught. But I also wonder if there isn't an issue of competing needs that cause some to stop.

I think I'm wandering into the territory of rambling now, so I'll stop there. Fascinating subject, though.

I'm trying to work on my theory...but need a little input (help).

Were all the girls trying to get out of the business?....I'm not sure with Amber...but I have a feeling the other's were. Opinions??

Hi puggle,
Melissa seemed to be content. Amber seemed to be heroin addicted at the time. Maureen wanted to pay her rent and support her kids. Megan wanted to get money for an apartment for her and her daughter - she also had been told by her romeo-pimp that he wanted to have a child with her...I imagine they all wanted out...eventually...

You folks seem to be fixed on the serial killer aspect of this case. It may well be these gals were killed by a sex trafficker that got tired of their nonsense and killed them simply to get rid of a problem.

These gals are plentiful on the Internet. They are only a click away from being found and brought into the sex trade. The gals give you a problem you get rid of the problem - you kill them. It isn't like they can't be easily replaced and used until they burn themselves out.

Maybe SG knew that as well. Maybe that is what caused her to make the 911 call and said something was going to kill her.

I would strongly urge you folks to read Robert Kolker's book, "Lost Girls." Pay particular attention to his interview with JB - it begins on Page 349. He is both arrogant and cocky. He even says that when it all comes out there are going to be a lot of people 'with pie on their faces.' He clearly knows something about these murders, or believes he knows something about the investigation and why it appears to be stalled.

BTW, have any of you Sleuths learned anything about the latest 'serial killer' has his DNA on the GB4? The guy they say they have for two murders, possibly three?

I agree with you, Hawk, in most of these cases EXCEPT the GB4 and possibly a few others.

Sex trafficking used to strike me as a viable possibility but then I concluded that it's not. An organized crime means muscle power men ready to do anything and myriads of alternatives to dispose of the bodies. I think you get my point, very roughly speaking we would be finding "buried bodies" if we were ever to find them.
