You guys are making me work this morning. I just dug out Lost Girls and checked the "list of characters". A pimp named Banks is listed under Megan's name. I'd have to leaf through the book to find the exact reference to him.

ETA: Here ya go: (paraphrasing from Lost Girls) Megan's half sister, Allie , recounted how Megan's first escort gigs were set up by a guy who went by "Banks". He and Vybe were part of the same crew. Banks was abusive, Vybe (AC) stepped in as Megan's "knight in shining armour". (ugh)

Kat...sorry I know it's hard when we read so many posts/sites/ and even the lost girls book (Which I don't have - so makes this even harder) can you try to recall in what context the name Mr Banks came up....was this an associate of Megans before Cruz....anything that you can remember...any details... why did the name Banks pop into your head...

I am notorious for getting the boyfriend/pimps confused. I was thinking Banks was related to Melissa, or was her friends pimp. I had to fish through my notes to see if I had anything on Megan other than Cruz. Sure enough, Banks popped up (along with several other names). Not sure if I got that info originally from Lost Girls or not. But it's in there, so...legit info.

Don't know who these gentlemen are and how their careers ended up, but a silent way of snatching a working girl without ruckus is being a cop or - more plausibly in my opinion - being able to pretend as a cop, and being a former cop would help a lot with the act in that sense. A possibility which I wandered around a lot.

I have to tell you all, I did a tremendous amount of research on the Maine angle. I found a definite link between AC and KW... They have a mutual FB friend through Kw's spouse. In addition, I found several people in MW's circle who are linked to prostitution, the Brooklyn/ Bronx areas and some petty drug, prostitution and a few serious crimes like shootings in that congress st, iirc, area outside of Portland. One friend of MW's, BB, said MW was at her home the night before she disappeared. Her FB page is now gone but before it disappeared... She had memorials for seven or eight friends who had "died suddenly." Anyway, right after or right before MW was found, BB took off and moved to Central Florida. She is friends with MW's cousin, AC (aka Vybe Cruz, Victor Creed, etc.) and in my earlier research, to see if BB was a prostitute, I found another girl linked to the lifestyle, petty arrests, theft, drugs, soliciting in both the Boston and Portland ME areas. That led me to look at Elana Lozado, she lived and worked out of the same area as the others in the Portland area. I hope this post stays as my intent is to show that these pimps actually move to other cities and take their women back to NY and other cities to work. They are constantly hustlin'.

Yes Lindsay. I'd prefer not to use her real name only because it then shows up on online search. Last time the contact closed everything off so nothing could be seen. Now maybe he's feeling a little more relaxed due to it being over 12 months ago...I don't know...just being cautious cause I like the lead I have and don't want to loose it again until I can dig up little more on connections between some of the guys involved.

The guy who was arrested had a long history of criminal behavior but when the owner of the bar he worked in got into liquor licensing issues he sold the bar and the guy accused of killing EL became, iirc, the general manager or owner..I can't remember... but it was all very shady. When the suspect "confessed" he was charged and committed suicide soon thereafter.
