I believe this is a guy that grooms his victims before striking. What I mean is he sets up dates with them a couple of times and gets to know everything about them, i.e. drug addict, affilated with pimp, etc and then decided if the girl is a right victim. That is why the girls felt comfortable and left without their phones. I also believe he offers more and more money, or gifts after each date, and has them loose their gurad more and more. For example, on the second date he might say "you come to me this time," and on third date he might say "you come to me without phone." I also believe he maybe former law enforcement and lets the girls know this, and also gives them tips on how to not get caught escorting, etc. This way they trust him even that much more. Finally, he also makes it known that he doesnt want his reputation to be ruined and tells the girls to never mention anything to anyone about him. This is why I think Amber didnt tell her boyfriend/pimp the guys name or give any details, and just said "thats not what he wants" before leaving.

It is hard to say for sure, but I have a theory he may be a "car" killer. And what I mean by this is he gets them in a vehicle and almost immediately kills them or incapacitates them, then kills them in a set location. The description from the father and the attorney focus on one thing, more Violence than sex, during the phone calls. So a sexual sadist killer is pretty spot on.
We have to assume he must have used a vehicle to pick them up. So does he have a spot chosen somewhere in the woods? Doubt full. (Why not just leave the bodies there at the kill site) Does he have a house/warehouse/shed? Possible. Does he have a vehicle large enough to do what he does? I believe so. A van of some sort.
It is just a thought, but Ridgeway would pick the girls up in his truck, and as soon as he had the opportunity, he would strike. Either in his car or in a wooded area, sometimes in his home when he was single. It varied depending on his current situation. But the LISK seems to more methodical, less impulse driven.

I've always leaned toward the idea that he killed these women in his vehicle. Nutzger. If he's married, he can't bring them home. If he's married and takes them to a hotel, he ups his chances of being spotted. If he's divorced or separated and has his own place (ala Brewer), or if he's married and has enough money to have a place on the side, then the story changes dramatically.

I can see it going either way.

The car theory makes a great deal of sense. Also, some of their ads included pricing for "car dates." The counter argument are the phone calls to MB's little sister. I have admittedly thought the sister was alive, until that last call. However, she could have already been gone.

Building a twisted kind of relationship before striking is rare and as far as I know, limited to highly organized SKs with strong ritualistic aspects in the signature. While LISK is medium to high organized, I miss the ritualistic aspects here.

It makes a lot of sense and the only counter point would be only a valid counter point, if we would assume, a hardcore psychopath with some 100-120 IQ would, even it is obviously not part of his regular signature, make calls to tell the truth. Which is highly unlikely in the first place.

Just throwing this out there and hoping to ignite some more great sleuthing. For a long time I've had this nagging sense that it's someone from the Coast Guard station responsible for the Gilgo 4.

Hmmm....thats interesting.

Why do you say that?

Mostly just gut feeling. But it might work to explain why it's seasonal - maybe there's more on base then, maybe he's stationed there seasonally. It could explain why the girls were trusting. Might even explain why the girls left their phones, ya know because of some govt "big brother" story that he concocted. And I think there's a cell phone tower right there near the station there. Maybe that's where MBB's phone pinged off of.

Don't they share the station with the life swimmers? Those have seasonal employees as well, I think.

Hi. 90% of those individuals stationed at the FI CG station are young men and women under the age of 21. If you've ever had the opportunity to meet this group in person you'd know in two seconds that there would be more likelihood that the GB4 were killed by a local church minister than by anyone from the cg group.

Church ministers?? Let's not go there, ahem...you're talkin to a guy who goes by the name Jim Jones loll. And don't forget BTK and countless others involved in the church.

But listen I'm not singling out the CG group in that picture. Nor do I suggest we go sleuthing one single member. I think you know by now I detest being in the role of the accuser without rock solid evidence. If I came across any differently in this instance let me take a moment to say that is the last thing I wish to do. But as Peter Brendt said there are others on that base and in the area as well and it's something that IMO should be on the radar if any connections are made. I say let's keep an open mind, while being mindfully prudent in our accusations. That is all.

Will I get mod smacked if I remind everyone of the rampant sex abuse allegations within the catholic church? ;)

You are young! ; ) I remember being @ 12-13 maybe and coming home from school, picking up the newspaper and seeing a pile of bodies. I was so horrified that I called my mother at work crying about it. She told me I knew I shouldn't be calling her at work unless it was an emergancy. I was like don't you understand...this IS an emergancy!
This IS some info on the Jim Jones FNs speaks of...

But somehow I think you knew that. ;)

Seriously though, I had no idea who that was.
I'm an 80's baby.... So that is like WAYYYYY before my time.

Still looking at this group, I notice some details. Most of them are simply too young to be the LISK. Nobody shows any body language signs of being uncomfortable in the group and LISK for sure would, given how narrow they stand together. We look at someone in the age bracket 25-35 when the murders started, most likely ab. 28. I don't see anybody even near on that photo.

That crossed my mind also. That part about the cell phone tower is logical reasoning.
