I couldn't find the thread about the girl who does the pow pow gesture. Anyway, I came across the case of Cheryl McCarthy. Because she reminded me so much of the girl photographed by Alcala, I called it in to the mentioned email address.

Do you know of any photos that are not black and white of her? I agree with you that Cheryl McCarthy looks like the person in this picture.

On here it says the victim had red hair. I could see the person in this photo possibly have auburn hair, but it doesn't look red.

Upon reading more news sources here, I am leaning towards these not being the same people. I agree the resemblance is uncanny and it was worth suggesting just in case.

Let me see if I can dig up anything relevant, but first I'll read your link. After reading your link, I see no link between Cheryl and Cottingham. What am I missing?

Also, hair can be dyed any color. The only thing that's problematic is that the Pow pow girl's face is obstructed by her arms etc.
