PR interview

And in this portion of the interview, she is trying to distance herself from the kleenex box that was on the table with the pineapple and the tea. Sooo...an intruder brought in his own rope, tape and kleenexes. Yeah, right...Patsy. It seems that EVERYTHING was "out of place" in that house when JB was murdered.

6 TRIP DeMUTH: What about that box of
7 Kleenex that's on the table?
8 PATSY RAMSEY: No.
9 TRIP DeMUTH: Is that supposed to be there?
10 PATSY RAMSEY: Not really, no, I don't
11 think so.
12 TRIP DeMUTH: Do you know where that came
13 from, where that's supposed to be?
14 PATSY RAMSEY: No. I mean, I had Kleenex
15 around, usually in the kitchen, with a box in
16 the bathroom.
17 TRIP DeMUTH: Was there a box of Kleenex in
18 that dining room at all?
19 PATSY RAMSEY: I just -- not that I
20 remember. It's unusual that Kleenex would be
21 there.
22 TRIP DeMUTH: Okay. Got a blue, green
23 floral pattern on the box. Does that go to a
24 particular room?
25 PATSY RAMSEY: No, I don't, I don't
0500
1 remember that box.
2 TRIP DeMUTH: When you say you don't
3 remember that box, what does that mean?
4 PATSY RAMSEY: I mean, I don't remember
5 that particular box, that design of that box of
6 Kleenex.
7 TRIP DeMUTH: That could be your box of
8 Kleenex, though, from somewhere in the house?
9 PATSY RAMSEY: It could be, but I don't
10 remember. Usually I buy those little square
11 boxes.
12 TRIP DeMUTH: Okay.
13 PATSY RAMSEY: Because they just fit places
14 better.

Tea, (well YOU are the best person to be asking this question to..lol)....why do you think that the tea bag in the glass was symbolic? What, in your opinion, did it represent??
It represented iced tea, without having to actually have it in the glass. This one poster, Paradox, over at FFJ has noted a connection between the bowl of pineapple cubes in cream along with the "glass of tea" and a scene from The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, of which Patsy was quite familiar.

OH yeah...I read that thread over at FFJ. I remember that there were quite a few similarities between "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie", and the night that JB died. I had forgotten about that. Thanks for the reminder...

Ames,

I wonder if the kleenex was there for those that were hand-dipping the pineapple?

I've seen people wrapping kleenex around tea-glasses, but I agree JonBenet seems too young to be drinking tea.

What is Patsy doing talking about that particular box, that design of that box, its a kleenex box, it was a snack, not a formal dinner !

I reckon Patsy was there, and supervised it all, and JonBenet was sweetened up with pineapple, shortly afterwards she was dead!

Det. Haney: Patsy, I'd like for you to take a look at this picture of JonBenet's bathroom.

Patsy: Oh,my God! What's that toilet doing in there?

Det. Haney: What do you mean?

Patsy: That toilet shouldn't be there!

Det. Haney: Okay. Now take a look at this picture of her bedroom.

Patsy: Those beds! What are those beds doing in there? Those beds shouldn't be in there! Who put those beds in there, do you know?

Det. Haney: Okay. Moving on to the next picture. It's of your kitchen.

Patsy: This is very weird. That refrigerator shouldn't be there!

Det. Haney: It shouldn't?

Patsy: No, it shouldn't!

or I wonder if PR was crying after JB died, and she used some of it for that?Since she had on fresh makeup, was it from the night b/f,or put on later?I wonder if maybe she washed the old off,and put on new, once she regained some composure.

I'm surprised she didn't say someone redid the entire house while they were sleeping.

JMO8778,
Possibly but if she did that would you reckon she would see the remainder of the pineapple snack and think, hey we better get this cleared away?

The kleenex smacks of an impromptu arrangement just to suit the late snack, imo JonBenet was sweetened up with pineapple, to be followed by abuse?

but if they're in the kitchen snacking, wouldn't napkins or papertowels be more likely to be handy than kleenex?

JMO8778,

I agree, and you may have a point there, napkins would probably be Patsy's preferred option, and paper towels as the pragmatic solution, from some other case I remember someone mentioning that kleenex would be a male solution, I wonder how relevant this is here, if so, then it adds credence to BlueCrab's BDI theory.

It would also explain some of Patsy's neutral answers e.g.
10 PATSY RAMSEY: That is a water glass.

So she may have known about the pineapple snack, but not organized it, so she can state indirectly, I do not recognize that, thats not how I do things etc?

.

I got into quite a controversial discussion with Paradox on that :), (starting with post #100):
http://www.forumsforjustice.org/forums/showthread.php?t=8032&page=9&pp=12

Paradox has also another theory running parallel with his 'Miss Brodie' scenario: Patsy Ramsey allegedly 'sacrificed' JB because she was afraid of divine judgement. Not only can these two scenarios not be brought together, each theory in itself doesn't hold water either. Jmpo though.

The Kleenex box could be explained away...one of the adults could have placed it there that morning since Patsy was crying a river.

We do not know what the adults did that morning, only that the two victims advocates brought fruit and bagels for the people there.

Or the victims advocate who was cleaning behind the CSI who was dusting for prints. Apparently this woman was using a spray cleaner and wiping the residue from the fingerprint dust.

The tea glass I believe was done by Burke. It makes sense that he would sit and drink tea while his sister ate pineapple...could be but I do not believe it went that way. The tea could have been poured during the day when the kids were at home. Burke took a bite out of his breakfast...he might have snacked during the day.

Paper tissues are for people with snotty noses. JonBenet had a snotty nose at the time she was murdered.

true, but since she was questioned on both the kleenex and glass,I wonder if they have some relevance to the investigation, esp. since she denies both.
So I wonder if she sat down and cried at the kitchen table after JB died(but b/f 911 was called);that may be why she was asked about the brand of makeup she was wearing that morning?

Thats a good thought about using the kleenexes for hand dipping the pineapple, or probably most likely they were there to wipe JB's nose with, since she had a runny nose. Patsy was saying that she never bought that shape of box...she always bought the square boxy kind, because she says that the square ones fit better in tight spaces. Sounds to me like she was trying to distance herself from it, she was trying way to hard to make the interviewer believe that the kleenex box did NOT belong to her or her family, and that it did NOT belong in the Ramsey home. I find that ODD!! I mean come on, are we supposed to believe that the "intruder" brought in his OWN BOX Kleenexes...yeah, right. No matter WHY the kleenexes were on the table with the rest of the things that "weren't supposed to be there"....IMO.the Ramsey's left it there....and it WAS their box of kleenexes. And you are right, JB was too young to drink tea, and according to Patsy, in the below interview, JB didn't even LIKE tea at all. So, it wouldn't have been hers. My guess is that it was Patsy's or John's...most likely Patsy's.

22 PATSY RAMSEY: No. And JonBenet didn't like
23 iced tea or tea at all. I mean, did somebody -- do we
24 know what all of those people in the house that morning
25 did? Because you know there was a bowl of something in
0485
1 that Lennox China bowl, you know, with stuff in it that
2 somebody had out. Did somebody put all of this out
3 then? Was that there since that morning? Did you ask
4 them, somebody asked all those people, the two social
5 workers?
