Confusing to me, it’s announced she’s pregnant yet she hides as if ashamed.

I have the suspicion maybe the paps got a shot and that has brought forward an announcement.
hence she was still trying to lay low about it this morning. it was after they arrived that it came out.
just a feeling! :-)

Just heard the news about the baby it is wonderful news. I was expecting an announcement at Christmas so I am surprised it has come early. It explains why the Duchess of Sussex was wearing that coat at the wedding.

Congratulations to the happy couple. They will make wonderful parents.

I hope Samantha starts behaving and doesn’t continue to cause any stress to the Duchess of Sussex.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle expecting a baby in the spring

"Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding," the palace said.

Prince Harry, Meghan expecting their 1st child

Canberra, Australia – Prince Harry and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, are expecting their first child in the spring, Kensington Palace said Monday.

The announcement came hours after Harry and the former Meghan Markle arrived in Sydney at the start of a 16-day visit to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. Hundreds of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the couple after they landed...

So.... we might as well play the name game!

In the mix -

Elizabeth, Diana, Frances, Doria, Jessica, Alexandra? Unlikely to be Samantha, Cressida or Chelsea.

Charles, Phillip, William, even Thomas? Arthur has traditionally been used as a Royal middle name so maybe that will come to the fore. Thinking of the American connection I am hoping not Donald!

Fact of the day! Just had a little google of Royal names and did you know Anne, Zara, Beatrice, Louise, Charlotte, Isla & Lena all have Elizabeth as a middle name. I mean, I suppose they would since it's their grandma / great-grandma. If Harry doesn't use it as a first name I reckon Eugenie might.

George would've been a great connection for a Brit-American couple. It's a meaningful name in both countries. But, apparently, it's been taken recently. :)

I'm sure Diana will be in the name somewhere if the baby is a girl. What was Diana's middle name?

Boy: Spencer
Girl: Spencer

Why not...actually, I just love that name!

Perhaps they were waiting until after Eugenie's wedding was over to avoid taking the attention and spotlight from the bride and groom.

oh dear, her sister and her father are going to go nuts again now, another thing to be in the papers about

Diana's middle name was Frances after her mother, but actually I don't think they got on that well so scrap that one.

Spencer Sussex would be most unfortunate if the child has a lisp.

Charlotte's middle name is Diana, not that that would prevent Harry from using it, too. They could merge it with Doria lol

How about Elizabeth Doriana Catherine? (great-gran, gran-combo, auntie aka future Queen)
Or Philip Charles Thomas (great-grandad, grandad, grandad)

Oh I LOVE the Spencer idea!!

My thoughts exactly when I read the news first thing this morning (insert smiley of your choice).

Great news! Has anyone used Victoria recently? It has a little of Doria in it.

I suppose we need a new “baby watch” thread. :)
