It's nothing to do with space. This is a dairy queen kind of princess. The first official duty of the Minnesota 19-year-old who has just won the title is:
'to sit for nearly six hours on the opening day of the State Fair on Thursday to have her likeness sculpted from a 90-pound block of butter.'

Having said that and looked for a photo, I find the Minnesota butter sculptors do indeed feature space as well as beauty queens in their shows.....of course.
