KY PROJECT KENTUCKY - Unidentified Persons Cold Cases

Happy Friday everyone!! :)

I’m still working on compiling a list of possible matches and questions to send to Amy (the ME) for all our Kentucky cases. It has proved to be a tedious task and is taking longer than expected.

I was hoping some of you might want to help me with it! I’m going over all the cases to check for updates and help assemble my list, so as a way to refresh some of the threads I’m going to post the potential matches and questions we’ve come up with so far for each individual case. (The info is also on the spreadsheet which I’m realizing is completely overwhelming LOL)

If anyone happens to see a refreshed Kentucky thread and has the time to provide feedback, I’d appreciate it! I just want to make sure I’m sending the best possible matches and asking the most pressing and potentially helpful questions we have! So if I’ve left anything out, or need to remove something, just let me know. I’m hoping to send Amy an email by Monday (fingers crossed), and if need be, I’ll contact individual agencies after this.

Thank you ALL so much! :)

@MadMcGoo I would like to help you but I totally lost track. Are there specific cases that need to be looked up or do you have (part of ) a list I can check?

Thank you BOH! I don’t have a shareable list yet, I’m working off of the spreadsheet at the moment, but I can share the “final” list I plan on emailing Amy when I get it completed! :) All of the ones I’ve got possible matches for or questions about I posted on their threads here within the last 12 hours, if that will help in the meantime...

re: the ID’d girl posted below; I’m fairly positive she’s remained visible in NamUs, the only reason for the “ID” is based on media links. They seemed to suggest they were fairly confident in their tentative ID, they’ve just not released any additional info. Thank you for pointing it out though, I’ve kinda just been keeping an eye on her and checking for updates. She’s been in limbo almost since she was found :(

@MadMcGoo sorry you may have come across this one before but I wonder if Robert Thrasher would be a match for any KY UID's. He was missing from WA and no indication he was travelling that way, but he was driving a KY-plated car which perhaps indicates some connection to the state.

He actually does remind me a lot of Scottsville 1983 John Doe... 1372UMKY

I’m guessing there must be a connection to Kentucky! I wish there were more details on his disappearance. I can’t post a side by side at the moment, but will try to next time I’m at my desktop. Take a look at that UID and let me know what you think...

Sorry I haven't been around much...not likely to be around much more in the near future, either.
I hope all is well! I’ve been more scarce also...and I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. Life happens...

Kentucky will always be here and I know we’re all just as dedicated to helping our guys and girls out, just gotta take care of ourselves too!

WELL WISHES TO ALL! <3

Yeah, that's basically all--right now taking care of myself isn't leaving much energy for other stuff. I'll be back.

*long-distance fist bump*

Interesting find, the KY license plate. It seems Robert Thrasher was declared dead. FamilySearch

Robert Thrasher
United States Social Security Death Index Age: 29
Given Name: Robert
Surname: Thrasher
Birth Date: 21 Mar 1952
State: Idaho
Event Date: Jun 1981

But there is also this. Robert D. Thrasher, with the same birthdate

Robert D Thrasher
Event Type: Residence
Event Date: 01 Jan 1998-01 Jun 2001
Event Place: Lewiston, Idaho, United States
Birth Date: 21 Mar 1952
Affiliate Identifier: 797099827
Address: Lewiston, Idaho 83501
Possible Relatives: Carla R Thrasher, Shannon R Thrasher

Coincidence, a mistake in the records? Confusing.

Coincidence? Maybe. I didn’t have time to look much, but were you able to find any other missing person links for Robert? I didn’t see him on any other site...

Side note: I don’t see it mentioned often (if ever) for whatever reason, but I use fastpeoplesearch.com quite often and it’s free and extremely useful as far as people finders go. It’s helped me with research when even Ancestry.com and other paid sites couldn’t.

ETA: reading back over this comment, I realize I sound like a paid advertisement :D:D:D (I’m not BTW)

snipped by me.

I wonder why he was declared dead in Idaho instead of Washington. Is that where his family is?

@MadMcGoo You're on top of all these Kentucky cases with all your data gathering, and I'm sure you've got a lot of access to information. So...

Do you know if Joe Angel Luiz from Vegas The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
Joe Angel Luiz.jpg

was compared to Namus #UP81?

Thank you!

PS...I cross posted this on UP81's page...Just in case.

I'm not @MadMcGoo, but...he's not on the exclusions for that UID, and his exclusions don't show any cases from Kentucky.

He looks like he should be compared. Stats are very close.

Thanks @carbuff !

I don't submit suggestions any longer. But, I think MadMcGoo is in touch with the LE and ME in these Kentucky cases. So I was hoping that either MadMcGoo or someone else would give it a try.

Good find! As Carbuff said, the stats match up. I see a lot of resemblance in the two! I’ve added him to the large spreadsheet as a possible match and I’m slowly but surely getting each list ready to submit to the ME (or appropriate agency).
