IA, but I think not fastening their seat belts is the least of their legal worries right now, they are probably still trying to figure out a story to get out of "Ratgate" and you know there is still that whole pesky mess of Misty failing TM's tests, and not being consistent with what happened the night Haleigh "vanished". :behindbar

In Manitoba, unless a person riding in a car has written permission from their physician stating why they cannot wear a seatbelt, no other excuse counts. What does Florida law say about wearing seatbelts? Is it mandatory like in Manitoba? TIA.

Florida seat belt law just got tougher
Starting June 30, Florida police will be allowed to stop and cite motorists for not wearing their seat belts.

Starting June 30, adults caught not being buckled up in the front seat will face a $30 fine. The law already allowed for enforcement for drivers and passengers under 18.

Thank you for the link. This law was passed in June, so everyone in Gmma's Sykes vehicle should have buckled-up and yet they drove off in the car in front of reporters unconcerned. I believe I see Ron lean over the start the car before gmma gets in. Thirty dollars seems like a slap on the hand compared to what fines cost in Manitoba - they make you scream "Ouch!"

I copied the following paragraph from Living in Manitoba's website.

All persons in a moving vehicle must have their seat belt on. There are many countries that require only driver and front seat passengers to wear seatbelts. In Canada, everyone in the vehicle must be wearing a seat belt, and the fines for not wearing seatbelts are very expensive.

Because of the expensive fines connected to failing to wear your seatbelt, it is standard procedure for everyone entering a vehicle to fasten on a seatbelt. This law which has been in effect for over 10 years to my knowledge. We also have photo radar in place and the fines are also expensive around $200.

Ok... I have a few of them for you :)

Not trying to confuse things any more than they already are... but thought it important to ask when the bus stop drop off or pick-up time was changed from what was reported to be 3:20, to now I see routinely referred to as 3:45. Only because I'd personally called and spoken w school tranportation (back in March) and the earlier time is what I was told by dispatcher at that time. Just trying to be sure everyone's working w correct time is all.

And I know this was discussed at length, but does anyone know whether we can even finally 'put to bed' that the scent article (blanket eg) was in fact Haleigh's, or whether it's even remotely possible that the trail could have been instead Misty's eg? I ask this because...

The circle of Buchanan where dogs trailed has long been of particular interest to me. Since MC claims anyway that Haleigh walked back near pond/outbuilding that afternoon; and if dogs conceivably could've been picking up the scent along Tyler St. that Haleigh would have traveled along had she walked to bus stop that am... then the Buchanan Cir. loop is still the problem for me. Why would Haleigh have walked or been anywhere near there?

Which raises additional questions. First, I can't recall whether trailing dogs could track scent once a person enters a vehicle? Because since Haleigh was picked up (by whomever!) after school; and didn't walk to school--as it's further alleged they drove 25 miles that am to get one particular outfit; then IF dogs aren't able to track in vehicles, yet tracked and came to dead end at Buffalo Bluffs RR track, that would rule out walking-to-busstop explanation for Tyler St... thus leaves me wondering what else she could have been doing all the way up by RR tracks too? Again, was this even Haleigh's scent being tracked?? It occurrs to me that if dog's were mistakenly given a blanket of Misty's eg to track maybe she was up in that direction?

And lastly, I am wondering if an expired (or an alive) Haleigh could have been carried from trailer thru the short woods between trailer and the nearby road/drive to an awaiting vehicle... which would explain neighbor's (PP w/e his name is) comment that he couldn't understand how anybody could have come thru (Green La) w/out his ever hearing anything?

Yes, lots of questions... grateful for any clarification or insights.

I have been thinking about the bricked door. Do we have a photo of the MH from the street view, straight on? Also do we have the floor plans of the MH? If Misty wasn't home, she either walked back or had a ride back to the MH. It was dark, but a full moon. Depending on which direction she was coming in from (street direction), would you see the light shining down the ramp and notice the screen door bricked open? Or could Misty have turned that light on and used it as a reason as to why she woke up, so she didn't have to say she wasn't home? So my question is; do we have photos of the MH from the street and floor plans?

does anyone know what time Haleigh got off the school bus Monday? Browning Pearce lets out at 3:00 pm

Thanks

According to KikiTheParrot, she called to ask for verification on the drop off time and she was given the answer of 3:20 p.m. as the time when the bus should arrive at the Buffalo Bluffs stop.

What time does the bus arrive in the morning to pick up the children from the bus stop?

Does anyone know of a particular thread that might discuss the guns that RC owned? I've checked all the titles of the various threads and can't find one for the gun(s). I realize he may have owned some that were not registered, but I'm just wondering about the one he told police he owned and would use it to shoot someone through the back of the police car and also the one that was supposedly hidden/stolen.

TIA

Where did Haleigh & Jr. spend the weekend before H went missing?

snipped for space

Interestingly, Misty didn't mention going for a walk with the kids in the latest tapes of the TM tests, IIRC.

She said, however, that Haleigh was taken to school by car and also came home in Ron's car, so she didn't walk to the bus stop that day.

Not sure, but if you go by Mr. Santos' account(neighbor), H didn't ride the bus in the AM that day.

If you go by Misty's account, also. They had to go to Welaka to pick up clothes Haleigh wanted to wear to school that day.

Misty said she walked her to her class that day. It is in the hypnosis tape.

Would anybody else do this? A five year old insisting on a certain outfit that she had to wear that day. They had to drive, what was it, twenty minutes to get this outfit. When my daughter was five, she wasn't fussy at all, that came later in the teenage years. Doesn't ring true to me, IMO. Seems more likely that no one did the wash that weekend and they had to go get her some clean clothes.

I put up with a lot of stuff, but I definitely would not indulge a child on a nearly hour long ride just to get what she wants to wear. Oh no, no I would not.

We all know what Misty was doing the weekend before Haleigh's disappearance but WHAT DID RON DO THAT WEEKEND? We know he wasn't with Misty soooo.... Where was Ron?

Does the body release anything into the urine upon death? Would a test of a urine stain be able to tell if it was post mortem?
