"Final Resting Place.

Her beloved Prince Philip with her once more:
How the Queen will be buried beside her father George VI, mother Elizabeth and sister Princess Margaret in St George's Chapel at Windsor... with her late husband's body moved to be by her side."

I don't think we ever see another who has brought so many people together in such respectful remembrance.

Its an historical occasion, most folk just want to be part of it, IMO.

in about a years time, there will be a coronation and the crowds will be huge, as well.

New beginnings.

Members of the new Prime Ministers Cabinet, who are both Scotsmen in the Royal Company of Archers take their place in the vigil at Her Majesty's lying-in-state.

"Defense Secretary Ben Wallace and Scottish Secretary Alister Jack have been taking part in the vigil around the Queen's coffin as she lies in state in Westminster Hall.

The two cabinet members took their positions side-by-side, dressed in dark uniforms, on Thursday afternoon.

Both politicians are members of the Royal Company of Archers, which functions as the monarch's bodyguard in Scotland."

Finally! Got a great view of the Orb and Sceptre.

Thanks again, Herat!

On the live stream. BBC Live

Suddenly, there was a close up of the coffin from the side.

The flowers were, finally, not obscuring the view.

And this comes from Omid Scobie. I strongly agree with one of the comments…

honestly - let's make this about the queen and not the family drama

Prince Harry made the very same statement and asked that for the focus to remain on his grandmother.

The current end of the queue is navy.noises.overnight (according to government trackers). Seems an appropriate what3words location.

They are saying on our morning TV news (I think it is almost midnight in London, though) that the queue is about 9 hours long, at the moment. They are tracking a couple who have been there for 6 hours already, and they estimate that it will be 3 more hours before they reach the door.

As well as showing their respect to the queen once they are inside the hall, it seems to me that they are adding to that show of respect in waiting so long. It is 9 hours of respect. IYKWIM

The guards change every 20 minutes and it's impressive to watch.

However, the constables don't seem to change anywhere near as frequently. Perhaps once every 2 hours or so, from my viewing.

A dedicated stream of the Queen lying in state in Westminster Hall, London, for people who want to pay their respects virtually.''

I expected to see people just walking past and pausing for a moment but I'm surprised at how many are stopping and bowing towards where the Queen lies.
It's a lovely gesture. I'm just surprised that so many people these days would think of that, let alone do it.

Some bow. some curtsey, some make the sign of the cross, some namaste.

And some do all it seems.

I've been amazed at the outpouring of love and affection I have seen this week. I just can't imagine anything happening here (in the US) that would bring so many people together in such a united way. I am in awe.
