The Queen reigned over 15 British Prime Ministers, I think. The first was Winston Churchill, the last was Liz Truss.

Churchill was born in 1874.
Truss was born in 1975.
A 101 year age difference. Crazy.

I can only speak for myself, but I thought that the Queen's health began to deteriorate after she lost her beloved Prince Philip. Theirs was a love story for the ages, and I think the Queen missed Philip terribly. JMO

What a good sport she was, as seen in her Jubilee video!

I suspected this morning (as I'm sure a lot of us did) that the family rushing to gather meant the end. It sure doesn't make my sorrow any easier.

Well done, Queen Elizabeth.

I always thought he should keep his name Charles. It suits him.

A great idea. It should provide a good sense of continuity and security for the citizens of the UK and Commonwealth.

With the passing of Queen Elizabeth the Second, an historic reign and a long life devoted to duty, family, faith and service has come to an end.

The Government and the people of Australia offer our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, who are grieving for a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother—the person whom for so long was their greatest inner strength.

Australian hearts go out to the people of the United Kingdom who mourn today, knowing they will feel they have lost part of what makes their nation whole.

There is comfort to be found in Her Majesty’s own words: “Grief is the price we pay for love.”
