In the car following the Hearse is the Queen's daughter Princess Anne and her husband Sir Tim Laurence. Anne is a formidable person, but this six hour journey behind the Queen’s coffin would challenge the resolve of anyone. #QueenElizabeth

6 hours is a long drive and I’m thinking the change of drivers would happen when re-fueling the vehicle.
What, would they just pull into a service station?

They’ve stopped at Brechin Castle for a quick wee and a leg stretch.

There will be many major changes to the Royal Family following the death of the Queen and accession of King Charles III to the throne.

But it will also prompt little differences in the everyday lives of millions of Britons - including the money we use.

One of these changes will eventually see Charles feature on banknotes and coins. What is more, his image is likely to be facing in the opposite direction on coins.

Where the Queen’s image faces to the right on each one of the 29 billion coins in circulation, coins featuring the new King are likely to show him facing to the left.

New coins featuring King Charles will see him facing in the opposite direction to the Queen. (PA/Getty Images)

As the Royal Family says on its website: “From the time of Charles II onwards, a tradition developed of monarchs being represented on the coinage facing in the opposite direction to their immediate predecessor.
Isn't it too early to discuss it now?

After all the Queen has not been buried yet, and the time of Mourning has not finished.

There is time for everything, and this time should be devoted to Queen Elizabeth.

MOO

I was recently given a box of my grandparents things which includes some old pennies and half pennies (including King George and various occasion coins) so I’m going to try and keep any Queen Elizabeth II coins with relevant dates on e.g. birth years of me and my family, and some 2022 versions.

I have always admired Anne, the Princess Royal.

In 1974 she survived a kidnapping attempt. Reportedly when the gunman told her to exit the vehicle, she responded: “not bloodly likely”.

What a wonderful idea CoverMeCagney :)

I'm going to miss Queenie, that's my name for her, when I'm arranging my bank notes neatly in my wallet :)

In the clip, her eyes widened as she turned to her husband Philip whilst exclaiming 'cows!' as she pointed at them excitedly. Philip responded to her and she beamed whilst she looked happily at the farmyard animal.

Philip looked adoringly at her, seeming to find it heartwarming and wholesome that she'd become so exhilarated by the cows. As the clip ends, the pair can be seen discussing the moment.

I have been following along the roads of Scotland during the day, I truly enjoy the wonderful little anecdotes of her, a queen, a human being, a woman

How the Queen ensured her loyal aide Angela Kelly - a docker's daughter from Liverpool - would be allowed to stay at her grace-and-favour home near Windsor Castle following the monarch's death

Angela Kelly, a docker's daughter from Liverpool, began work as an Assistant Dresser at the Royal Household before becoming indispensable to the Monarch.

Her reward was a grace-and-favour home a short walk from Windsor Castle.

Looking at maps Edinburgh’s streets around the Royal Mile are closed.

On Monday, the late Queen's coffin will be adorned with the Crown of Scotland and then be taken in a solemn procession up the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, in a procession to the city's St. Giles's Cathedral for a service.

King Charles III will walk behind his mother's casket during the ceremony with his siblings, Princess Anne and her husband, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. It is expected that the Queen Consort, Camilla, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex will travel up to the cathedral service in transport behind the marchers.
