Quesions for RDI about Burke's role

I can't believe I never thought this thought before...a head wound...severe bleeding...it's common knowledge that a head wound often appears worse than it really is due to excessive bleeding.

Was luminol ever used in JB's bathroom. (If PR cleaned up blood, it would still show up under luminol, right?)

Yes, it would. Luminol was developed for that reason.

It's always been my own personal theory that PR snapped, JBR received a head wound, PR thought the wound was either severe enough to cause brain damage, and she would prefer a dead child to a brain-damaged one, OR she thought the wound was minor and due to her sleep deprivation, her thoughts weren't rational and all she could think of was "JB is going to TELL ON ME" and she couldn't face this. JMHO!

Depends on who you ask.

The scenario of PR preferring a dead JBR to an brain-damaged one is something I have also considered. What I know of Patsy- it would seem like that IS what she would prefer. The head bash (which never broke the skin) would have certainly knocked her out immediately. But the fracture was not even noticed until the coroner peeled the scalp back during the autopsy (standard procedure for all autopsies). He was surprised when he saw the fracture and the subdural and subarachnoid bleeding.

What's your own personal opinion Ravyn? (PS-cat fancier here-I love your avatar!)

Head-wound first or strangulation first?

Off Topic...I love cats, we just got a new kitty...I am severely allergic to it. Any suggestions? Getting rid of it, is not an option.

The question was meant for Ravyn...BUT...from experience..I can tell you that the head wound came first.

I believe that John was probably getting ready for bed, when the head blow happened. I also believe that the scream was Patsy's...not JB's. And why Burke didn't hear it...is beyond me. IMO..they didn't have a plan B, in case Burke had of woke up. I really don't know WHAT they would have done. IMO..THIS is the reason they took her into the bowels of the their house, for the staging. And no, I don't think that Patsy would have turned on Burke, if he had of seen what was going on. She would have just convinced him to keep his mouth shut. WHICH...IMO...could have happened anyway...J and P both, could have said..."don't tell anybody what you heard, because mommy and daddy could go to jail, and you wouldn't want THAT, would you?"

MY BOLD

RE Burke not hearing the scream, I don't think that is so very unusual. This was Christmas night, after the excitement of two days of back-to-back excitement and celebration. He was a 9-year-old boy who was probably knackered out when he fell asleep. When my daughter was young (and even now!) she could - and did - sleep through anything, including two hurricanes. Some kids sleep really hard.

I'm very allergic to cats also. It's not the hair, its the dander. Keeping it really clean by somebody else using a mitt daily to wipe down its fur may help, as may keeping it off all furniture - good luck with that, btw!
Always wash your hands if you pet it or touch anything where the cat sat or lay on. I find that my allergies can at times be kept at bay by keeping my hands completely away from my face, neck and definitely the eye area. But I've only had partial success with these tips.

For whatever reason, dogs don't bother me at all, thank God!

I'm glad someone re-upped this thread. There's a lot of material here I'd very much like to revisit.

Let's be specific. When I say I'd like to revisit a few things on this thread, it might do well to know what they are. I could list them, but I think it would be best to do it one at a time.

Disputes like did the head blow come first then garrote or vice versa? Did JR sexually molest JB?

I'm game to hash those out.

I don't see the garrote/molestation quote...don't know how to make them both show up....

Anyway, the molestation question is particularly interesting to me considering the SIL(?)'s comment about JBR being just a little bit molested. Apparently, someone knew something was going on.

The garrote fascinates me as well because it would fit into the S&M lifestyle that many high powered people are into. I do suspect JR of being into this lifestyle as a way to blow off steam, Patsy doesn't seem like the sort of person that would accomodate this type of activity. I am wording this as delicately as I can....but if anyone in that house was familiar with making that type of weapon, I think it would be JR.

Sorry, mods if i'm out of line.

Actually, it was the grandmother (JR's mother-in-law).

He did serve in the Phillipines at a time when the Navy was being taught how to make strangling cords.

Snipped from post #1 of this thread by Voynich:

For those who don't know, it is alleged MacDonald killed his wife, then his children, so as to silence the witnesses

Voynich I always understood he severly injured/killed his oldest daugher with a board he was swinging at his wife and that is probably what made him kill the rest of the family, I just never (and will never) understand how he kills the youngest girl that is still in a baby bed?? what the heck could she have told? And if it was drugged out hippies I think they would have made sure the adult male was dead and forever quiet verses a little baby girl that could barely talk.
Back on topic....Personally I think Burke slept through the night and was awakened with all the yelling and screaming going on after Patsy "found" the ransom note. I am still in awe that not one Ramsey was seriously questioned right after she was reported missing and again right after she was found dead. It does make you question how much of an influence money has on our justice system.

It seems to me that if the R's were not worried about BR confessing, then most likely BR was sound asleep and knew nothing.

Meekly posting here again. Some of you seem to beat up on this "newbie" to this topic a few months ago. Jeesh...maybe I'm just paranoid. Anyway...
Back on topic. Is RUMOR or FACT that BR's AND PR's fingerprints were BOTH found on the bowl of pineapple chunks? TIA.

As I understand this both fingerprints was found on the bowl...

Thanks Ravyn. And by the way...what happenned to the kitty Avatar? Allergies (who ever asked)...you're asking the wrong person, for I have always been suspicious of peeps who claim allergies. I think they are a convient head-game for those who claim to suffer. Sorry, but I do. But, PS I think I've read that giving kitty a bath once a week can help with the dander "allergy".

Sorry, back on topic, so we have Mom's and brother's fingerprints on a bowl containing some pineapple chunks and a Mom who claims she doesn't know where this pineapple filled bowl could have come from? Yeah right...a stranger comes to the home, with NO weapon in hand. Opens a can of pineapple, feeds some to JB without her making a sound, leaves the rest on the counter, then takes JB to the basement, bashes her head in, then finishes her off with an amatuer garrote. Writes the long randsom note, using words and phrases that PR herself might use...blah, blah, blah...Wake me up when it's over....

14! COOL! And here I thought admitting to my own 3 would make me sound like a "crazy cat lady". LOL. Really? 14. Are you a foster mom/dad or are they all your own?
