madeleine,

Because unsourced means Nobody Knows and like the dna this means there is a higher probability that they originate from inside the house than outside.

I totally disagree.

So even if you advocate IDI as a theory in the pecking order it lies beneath RDI.
To say otherwise is to make preference into a belief.

.

Huh?
Don't talk to me like I am on the Ramsey payroll,I am not LOL,I am not RDI,nor IDI,I am IDKWDI.(i dont know who did it) and OPEN to both.I never said for sure I am RDI or IDI,maybe I said I strongly believe this and then that and changed my mind a lot.But I won't fall off the fence anymore until I see more evidence.

madeleine,

Ok fine , if dna and fiber evidence was all you had then you would have to be IDKWDI, I dont know who did it either, but I reckon it was not an intruder.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to add a comment... Personally, I don't agree with some of the reasons I've always heard for the police clearing John early on in the investigation: unscientific and subjective handwriting analysis, even if given by so-called "experts", and even down to the fact that he was too calm and collected, compared to Patsy, who was very emotional.

Only my own opinion, but surely it's more unnatural to be so "cordial" and unphased by his daughter's murder? I would have thought that most people would be more likely to be the opposite- upset and emotional!

Also, I know that they couldn't clear Patsy because so much of the evidence appeared to point back to her... I have no idea who did it, but I just can't make sense of why she would leave everything pointing to herself, and then finish by calling the police on herself?! Unless she actually wanted to be caught on some level, or had completely and utterly lost all her senses- neither of which seemed to have been the case!

There was a case where a mother found her beheaded son. She was not responsible at all but her 911 call sounds like she found a dead cat. No reaction whatsoever. The man who did it was found and convicted. She actually chuckles in the 911 call. She is not fully comprehending it yet.
But her 911 call debunks that people would be upset if they found their child dead.

People go into shock. Some react with reason to cope and some fall apart. Some can not accept it yet. Some become numb.

Reaction is no tell tale clue.

Evidence is what matters.

I agree that you can't tell based on someone's reaction- that's entirely my point, that John's coolness doesn't prove, any more than Patsy's dramatic reaction.

Obviously the police didn't use that as an official reason for clearing John, but I have heard numerous times that police officers made comments such as: "He couldn't have done it, because he's so calm", or words to that effect. My only observation that the police should have known better than to comment upon either John or Patsy's demeanour as an indicator of guilt (or not), either way.
