Ok, this may be a weird question, but I can't for the life of me shake the feeling that I have seen the meter reader somewhere before. Anyone else think he looked familiar?

He looked rather familiar to me too, but I finally decided he resembled an actor I'd seen on some Law & Order segment. I'm hopeless with faces.

Did anyone listen to it??

Where did that thread about this video go anyone know

Did anyone else here her sing Please dont take NANAS / NANS sunshine away !!!!!
I heard it. LP even referred to it. So sad.

I think you're right on all counts. I think he knows what the right thing to do is, but that would require him to oppose his wife, and he lacks the courage and character to do that. Which is probably why neither his wife nor his children (nor I, I'm ashamed to admit) have any respect for him. I pity him, but I can't respect him.

However, at least he testified before the Grand Jury against his own daughter without being compelled to do so by the Prosecution. I do think that was a horribly painful thing to do, and I would just bet that C&C have not forgiven or let him forget about it since! Cindy would have simply refused outright to testify, in my opinion. But thankfully George did the right thing when it came down to it, because it was the right thing to do for Caylee. Since that testimony is sealed we don't know what he said, but I can just bet it was titillating in addition to all of the forensic evidence available at the time, or the Grand Jury wouldn't have indicted for 1st Degree Murder so quickly.

I do believe he loves his Granddaughter with all of his heart, and I am trying to believe that he will continue to do the right thing at Trial when he is called to testify again against Casey, this time in open court.

George relayed so many a suspicion to LE about his daughter's behavior and character that I believe he would not shield her. I think he honestly thought that his grand-daughter was wearing those clothes (and she may have been).

IMO, the only person George ever tries to protect or cover for is Cindy.

I honestly do believe GA (hear me out). When GA got a whif of that car his detective side came out. He knew something was wrong and that KC had all the answers. GA also went behind CA's back to talk to LE about his own daughter. I agree that at that time GA was not shielding KC, he just wanted his granddaughter back. I think some of the clothing found was what was described by GA in his interview. He is an ex-detective, they are trained to pay attention to detail, and that's why he remembered what time it was when they left and what they had on.

It seems to be a general consensus that everyone wants George to take a stand and speak the truth. It is up to him. Lee and Cindy are tied at the hip. It is so pitiful to watch George kiss her feet for lack of better terminology.

That is soooo weird! I have been saying that since I saw him on t.v.! I have seen him somewhere else before. What is up with this meter reader?

I agree with you that GA did do some serious talking to LE and I bet he is gonna pay. I am glad he did that and he should have done it.

I don't think he was a detective but worked for the Sheriff's Dept. We have been mislead somewhere along the path. His skills remembering what someone wore 35 days later has got to be a stretch, even for people with training. They are trained to recall during an event. There are no skills to recall anyone's clothing on a normal day 5 weeks in the past.

Of course, this is my opinion and I am cynical. I think he "remembered" what Cindy told him to say. Eventually, we will all find out. I hope George was truthful and you are correct.

I couldn't understand what she's saying the first time I heard it, but when someone suggested it was " please don't take Nan Sunshine away" and I went back and watched again, it seemed to fit perfectly. I can't be sure, but it definitely seems like that to me.

My Mom sang that song to me when I was little, and I still sing it to my boys. Yes, so very, very sad. :(

I'm twisting in the wind with exactly the same thoughts. And here's one more possibility--Some reports describe the clothing found with Caylee's remains as a swimsuit. Now, according to Cindy, on the evening of 6/15, she and Caylee swam in the backyard pool. (Either before or after the huge blowup between CA and Casey.) That opens up the possibility that when CA took Caylee out of the pool and into the house, she handed Caylee over to Casey, and said something like, "Get off your @ss, Casey, and act like a mother for once. Your daughter needs a bath and dry clothes, and then she needs to go to bed!"

And when Cindy left the room, Casey grabbed Caylee up, put a towel or sheet around her and stormed out, never to be seen again with Caylee.

That would account for a swim suit and towel or sheet being in the bag with Caylee's remains--if indeed those items were found in the bag.

But what about the book Caylee had been reading to GGF that morning? How did it get in the woods? What a puzzle!

Liking the thinking, now I am trying to account for the book. (Not sure - thinking out loud)

Casey wasn't potty trained yet, so they must have had a tote or diaper bag that they take along with them. Book is in bag to visit GGF. KC storms out with Caylee and grabs bag to take with her, as she usually would.

And that is as far as I got. Haven't yet thought of a scenario that works for me for the book to get from the bag to the woods, especially with the 2.6 trunk days. :( :(

Also, I have read that Caylee wore a swim diaper and that she didn't. I would think if swimsuit truly found at the site, then the diaper might have been too. They do not degrade very quickly. Finger prints might be there.

I would think that swimming with Caylee would have made Cindy happy and calmed her down if she had been upset before. I cannot imagine her nearly flying off the handle after spending that time with her grand daughter. On top of that - and this is admittedly far more "hunch" than anything else - I do not see Cindy or Casey fighting in front of Caylee.

Respectfully bolded and underlined by me...

I also believe he loved Caylee deeply, and I think he will testify honestly--but very reluctantly and minimally--at Casey's trial.

Re bolded text: IIRC, George was subpoenaed to testify before the GJ, so wouldn't he have been compelled to testify or else face some sort of punitive action? :)

Re underlined text: Although I believe he testified honestly in front of the GJ, I also believe he recanted everything immediately afterward in the media interviews that followed. Do you disagree? :)

He looked familiar to me as well. I thought he was a man I used to wait on in this area when I tended bar about a hundred years ago.

Well...CA seems to have a huge inability to "bite her tongue" and KC didn't have any problems with bringing Caylee into bed with her and her boyfriend so...I'm afraid that I would have to disagree with you on this one JWG. Unfortunately, I think Caylee witnessed many discussions, arguements and fights between these two.

MOO

Hi,

Does anyone have a link or transcript of what KC says Caylee said in the fake phonecall between KC and Caylee??

It was in the Universal Studios interview. You can read it here-- the discussion of the call starts on page 24.

..."She said 'Hi mommy...'...And she started to tell me a story-- talking to me about shoes and books and..."

A couple of thougjhts

Book (with photos) could have been in the bag already from visit
Book (with photos) could have been placed WITH Caylee

I cant shake the feeling that Casey *buried* Caylee with her favorite things, I said it in another thread like with My Mum when she was cremated *cry* that I wrote her a letter and put photos in with her..

Its possible Casey did the same thing

Okay, I'll give you that. LOL. However, Casey didn't swim and there's no reason to assume she'd gotten over being choked.

Alas, my friend, if the neighbors could hear fights between KC and Cindy, then little Caylee heard them all, too.

I respectfully disagree with part of your statement. I believe you might be right in that CA would not wish to fight in front of Caylee, but I do feel that KC wouldn't have the same concern or control.

For one example, in the 'huge waste' jail call, KC seemed not able to manage her anger well, at all. While I did note Cindy did not yell, and did try to keep her own tone calm, plus admonished KC not to curse and swear.

There is a scene in one of the videos that has always really bothered me, and my interpretation of it factors in to how I veiw the dynamics between KC and CA. In the video where KC is holding Caylee in her arms, and Caylee has the bit of birthday cake in her little hands, KC keeps moving Caylee's arm/hand to try to shove the cake into CA's face.

Now, around here in my home, that would be something done in fun and it would look so. But, to me at least, in that video, it is disturbing. KC is really pressing it. It was a moment of control. It was a moment of "I will manipulate Caylee to get you, Mom."

I'll try to come back and edit to link to the video, if I can find it again.

Ahh, see here is where more learned minds than me are wonderful! :D I had assumed that since he responded to the subpoena without issue on the stand that he wasn't treated as a "hostile witness" and therefore I incorrectly assumed "cooperation" with the prosecution on his part.

Oops. :blushing: Thanks for clearing that up though. I learn new things to feed my hungry gray matter everyday here at WS. ;)

I suppose I keep hearing George's stricken voice during his first interview with LE describing his horror upon smelling the telltale stench of Decomp at the tow yard, and praying to God one of "His Girls" wasn't in the trunk when he opened it. He sounded so heartbroken to me, I guess I just want to believe he out of all of them will stop being such a tool and do the right thing for his sweet granddaughter. :(

Here is where we differ:

1. KC didn't bury Caylee at all. She left her in a garbage bag in a very, very lonely, unmarked place.
2. Caylee's reported favourite thing was her BabyDoll. Had KC had a shred of wanting to bury Caylee with a beloved treasure, I believe it would have been Her BabyDoll.

(I am very, very sorry about your Mom. I''m sure she was deeply touched in Heaven by your caring actions.)
