HANCOCK, N.Y. — If you didn't know where to look, you'd probably never find Islamberg, a private Muslim community in the woods of the western Catskills, 150 miles northwest of New York City.

That whole area is odd - A friend of mine lives down there & her property backs up against a 'christian' camp. She has seen teens & adults shooting at targets in the woods & they don't speak to anybody. There are also several hasidic (sp?) Jewish settlemtents in that part of Green County. The men will shop locally, but the strict one's will not buy anything from a female.
It is definately an interesting area. There are mafia properties in that area also...
