They lost all of their money and privacy after her death. Patsy's physical appearance detoriated. Her cancer returned and claimed her life. Close friends of their's left them, how does this reflect a person enjoying the spotlight?
I don’t believe any of this was done for the purpose of “being in the spotlight”. But I don’t think anyone “made a decision” to end JonBenet’s life. However, just to keep the record straight as to your points:

  1. They didn’t lose “all their money”. Yes, they spent a tremendous amount of money on lawyers, hired investigators, private polygraphs, public relations experts, etc. -- BY THEIR CHOICE! They downsized to only one home instead of two. Much of all that money spent was recouped from lawsuit settlements, book sales, and selling the rights to photos of JonBenet after her death. The Ramseys were never poor after JonBenet’s died.
  2. Losing privacy wouldn’t be an issue if it was indeed the case that someone enjoyed the spotlight.
  3. The deterioration of Patsy’s physical appearance (your description) had nothing to do with being in the spotlight.
  4. Patsy’s return of cancer and death had nothing to do with the choices they made or the results of those decisions.
  5. It is true that some of the Ramseys’ close friends abandoned them -- after John and Patsy Ramsey cast suspicion on them to police as to whether or not they might be responsible for sexually assaulting and murdering their child. But it’s just really hard to expect a close friend to stand behind you when that “close friend” has thrown you under the proverbial bus.

She really did seem to enjoy the limelight didn't she!

I have found PR's self-centered behavior to be extraordinary. Even the 911 call "Jesus help me...Jesus help me...," not "Jesus help my baby" or something similar (which would have indicated a belief that she was still alive, so maybe that's not so surprising). Inviting all her friends over for moral support (or something) while awaiting a ransom call from someone who had said such outreach would get her child killed. Her performance over the dead body of JBR under the Christmas tree, including supposedly sobbing into her hands while checking between fingers to see how she was "going over." Those melodramatic photos at JBRs gravesite are in laughably bad taste -- her hands up at her neck in one of them. I think she played up the victim role to the hilt and JR seems to have admired her for it.

Not sure about the bolded part. I think if there was anything between them prior to her death, it was over between them after. I believe they were simply tied together by the horrible secret they shared and that neither would trust the other to keep it if they had separated. It was noted by many how distant the couple seemed to be after the murder. I suppose that whichever one of them was responsible for instigating the crime would be heavily resented by the other because of the loss of their daughter. John or Patsy may have aided in the coverup, but that certainly doesn't mean that they were happy with what the other one did.
