the hospital is in san diego county. With his son being in such dire condition, maybe he was staying at the ronald mcdonald house (which is on the main campus of the hospital).

The hospital is within easy driving distance to mission valley and the area known as hotel circle. So a hotel isn't out of the question.

Still, i would think it most likely he was at the icu or ronald mcdonald house, so if so, why all the secrecy regarding his whereabouts?

hippa?

Did you watch JVM? Owner of the dog boarding business says that there was another woman there with Rebecca at the mansion. JVM said more after the break. Then the owner was not brought back on to tell who the woman was. Evidently was told by someone (police?) not to say anymore.

 I know!!

I immediately thought, "Oh-oh, he got the hook from LE."

Another thing that is hinky to me..the electrical cord. A woman might tie her feet and hands with a belt from a satin robe or bathrobe...not an electrical cord. No way.

After looking at the pictures I wonder if she was thrown off the balcony with the rope attached. I don't know why but after thinking about the son flying through the air in the fall I feel that might have been done to her.

Then she could have been pulled up to make it look like she jumped off the table to hang herself. If she had been thrown off that would explain the broken table leg. She would have hit that table area very hard and would have caused the table to bounce.

I'm beginning to be very suspicious of the JS.

His silence about Rachel and the comments his ex wife said he'd made to her makes me believe that he would not hesitate to kill her especially if she was neglectful in taking care of Maxie.

I don't know about the ex wife. Why would she be naked with her... She would have been with JS.

all of the above is my opinion only

One thing about it those electrical cords would have fingerprints unless wiped clean. I have several.

Very strange story.

So let me get this straight...

The brother who found her just happens to come out of his house and sees her hanging. He cuts her down and she just happens to be barely alive? This is all at 6:45am in the morning? He calls police, but the paramedics don't come and this woman dies in the meantime? So all of this happened in the early morning hours where someone takes the chance of tying her up and pushing her off the balcony, and her possibly screaming...in open daylight?

Hmmm...seems like a lot of coincidences. Definitely hinky. MOO.

I believe it was said that JS was with the son in the hospital.

No, HIPAA would apply only to Max's medical records. Which is, incidentally, why no info on his condition was ever forthcoming from Rady.

ETA for further clarification: Under HIPAA, the hospital could not confirm JS's whereabouts, if hospital staff knew of them.

But LE is not bound by HIPAA.

I totally agree. Or a scarf. Rope even, but electrical cord? I wouldn't even know where to go about getting it.

Excellent observation.

This electrical cord, is it an extension cord, a cord that plugged into a gaget?
What exactly is an electrical cord if not?

IMO

I believe it is one of the big orange electrical cords.....usually used outside or in garage for tools

What a very strange, horrible story! First Max, and then Rebecca...

I'm not sure where the planking story started, but I highly doubt the kids were planking on the staircase. My kids plank and video tape it and post it to their youtube accounts, but I know they'd never try planking on a second story banister. My daughter is 13, another daughter 7 and my son is almost 6; and my niece is 15 and lives with us. I can see the kids sliding down the banister and falling. I can also see Max climbing the outside of the banisters and falling. My stairs are almost identical to those in the mansion (although I don't have a mansion), with a two story foyer and a chandelier hanging from the second story. The banister has been used for sliding down and the kids have been grounded and reprimanded for it. My almost 6 year old also climbed the outside of the banister all the way to the second floor and I had to stand in the foyer while the husband raced up the stairs to rescue him. It scared us all to death! I can also imagine a child trying to jump from the stairs and hang on the chandelier. I've seen it in kids movies and wouldn't put it past a child trying to re-enact that stunt. What a sad, sad story for Max... and for Rebecca. I cannot figure the Rebecca part out yet. Her grief over dropping her dog off is intriguing to me... why would she be so upset kenneling the dog for a short time while Max is still hospitalized. She died Wednesday and Max the following Sunday. Was she that grief stricken to take her own life? I don't feel JS or DS are directly involved, as it's in several of the linked MSM articles that they were by Max's bedside until he passed away. This is just strange, and so sad all the way around.

He moved over to the dark side ;) He went to the house to see if he could defend someone - as I read it.

This is an interesting statement:

It is also a fact that former San Diego County District Attorney Paul Pfingst, now in private legal practice, was seen at the property last week, and has admitted being retained by an unnamed person, other than Jonah Shacknai.

The brother?

MOO

I remember when Paul Pfingst was one of the Good Guys.

He was a Talking Head during the Scott Peterson case, and really used to rip Peterson a new one.

My two random cents as a pain-averse woman (and how many women aren't?)

1. If I were going to kill myself, I'd never choose hanging. The thought of cutting off my own breathing and suffering through the choking, gagging, struggling aftereffects of that until my necks breaks is abhorrent! I would be killing myself to end my pain, not increase it.

Bonus half cent: As discussed earlier on the thread, if against all my logic above I did choose this method, my weapon would be a belt, or scarf, or rope, but electrical cord? Wouldn't even occur to me. That's a guy thing.

2. Instead I'd choose the most painless method I could think of available to me, and if I were a woman with access to wealth, I'd have several (perceived) painless options available to me.

a). Such as: drug overdose. It doesn't actually always work this way (the vomiting and convulsions stages are always conveniently left out of real-life and fictional accounts) but with the average person's knowledge, I might believe I could just take a bunch of happy pills, maybe or not washed down with alcohol, fall asleep, and wake up in Valhalla.

Or: bullet through my brain. I have no statistics to support this, but it seems to me that wealthy households often have guns.

This is not a method used by most women, but according to my imaginary logic, at least it will be over quickly and I will not suffer.

The sum of my two and a half cents: no way this was a suicide.

PS And I didn't even go near the nudity. Are you kidding? I wouldn't kill myself naked even if I knew the first person to find me would be my CAT.

If this is a murder I can allready see the defense finding a woman same height and weight and have her try to tie her hands and feet up and getting a cord around her neck somewhat like the juice and the glove..

I believe her "upset" or grief wasn't about putting the dog into the kennel for a few days, but because Max was in the hospital and if not already declared brain dead, shortly would have been.

Not directly suggesting that either JS or DS had anything directly to do with Rebecca's death, but both of them had the financial means to make it happen.

And might not have had to look far for a sucker (at this time, totally baseless speculation on my part).

Or just request a change of venue....to Pinellas County, FL. Awesome jury pool there. Guaranteed acquittal. :rocker:
