I'm not convinced it is a matter of they won't do it; I think it is a matter that they can't confirm with certainty who made the call because the call was erased.
ME said that brain damage is a process. The family immediately knew the injuries were serious. That night while talking to doctors the clinically parameters that medical staff were following changed and they changed their mind to his ultimate course. Plus LE said that doctors and families are always initially hopeful. They can't say much because of HIPAA.
It was the ME making the comment during the Q&A section of the press conference. I think the medical staff can talk to him. Maybe someone else remembers what was said better.Where did we hear that the medical staff commented on things changing for the worse that night? That would be a HIPAA violation. Believe me, I know all about medical staff...
One of the S family (possibly DS mom) said that MS Head MRI was scheduled Wed afternoon. So, on Tues night/Wed am, they were still waiting and hoping for the best.....
LE stated they couldn't get retrieve the message because it was a new phone with new technology. Pffft. If they are referring to Windows Mobile OS being new technology then I call bs! My son had a phone with Windows Mobile several years ago. Plus, I work in the tech field.
I have 714 and 949 numbers on my single account.

This is something that has been bugging me for weeks.
MS's MRI was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon July 13 (as reported by media).

I'm not a doctor, but doesn't it seem that if an MRI was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, that on Tuesday night there would have still been an unconfirmed prognosis - otherwise why schedule an MRI?
With the impending MRI on Wednesday that ultimately confirmed any unanswered questions regarding his prognosis, why would RZ have killed herself on Tuesday night - without knowing absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt that Maxie would not recover (since we have been told that she committed suicide because of his terminal condition)?
Psychologically speaking, it would make more sense (to me) that if RZ committed suicide due to Max's hopeless condition, she would have done so after the MRI report came back, IMO.
If I'm not mistaken, signed patient authorization (or in the case of a minor, the minor's parent's signed authorization) or a court order are required to access a patient's medical records, regardless if one is a medical examiner.
In a case of a deceased patient, I believe next of kin signed authorization is still required, or a court order, in order for medical personnel to share a patient's medical history - even with a medical examiner.
ETA: If anyone has information to the contrary of what I just posted, I would appreciate it, so that I can learn something new & not be dumb.

All I have read is that JS says he made a call that MS had taken turn for worse, and that caused RN to kill herself. Since the message was erased, we don't know what he said. Maybe he told her to pack her bags, and be out before he came home.

LE said it, but I believe it came from JS not the med staff. Page 7 of the attached investigation report.
I don't know anything about that, but the ME also did the autopsy on MS, might he read MS's chart and notes to understand what happened

LE talked about what JS told them at the PC. At 25:40 in the PC LE said "that message was to inform Rebecca of Max's grave condition and imminent death"

It seems that RZ's family should be entitled to know what that evidence is, no? The message was supposedly a huge part of their evidence that pointed to suicide. They won't disclose how they verified there even WAS a voicemail message, and they certainly haven't disclosed what the message said because it is supposedly gone. Yet, based on SOME KIND OF EVIDENCE that involves this call, they determined most likely RZ committed suicide. Her family should be told what that is. Then, if they choose, THEY can tell us. I am fine if they decide not to. I just want RZ's family to know every piece of evidence that told LE it was suicide, and this alleged voicemail is key.
Agreed. I think LE took JS's word for it.
