The big black pages? I'm going to guess they are the crime scene pics the specialist named in his report. The ones he says he studied.

ETA: I would assume they are graphic, which is why they were redacted.

I am pretty sure that the 8 pages are George's suicide letter, redacted by the SA pending the hearing about it next week.

Redacted means that some information has been deleted or blacked out - sometimes it's as simple as a phone number or address - as for who does it, I'd have to say that is the LE agency who has released the docs. There has been information released in some of these doc dumps that I have wondered why it wasn't redacted because if I understand the FL sunshine law correctly, then LE is allowed to redact personal information (such as phone and address) of parties who are witnessesses as opposed to those charged with crimes. I've tried to put myself in the shoes of some of those who were interviewed only because they knew Casey who have had their addresses or phone numbers or places of employment or other details released and all I can say is that I'm glad I don't live in FL and that I did not know Casey Anthony.

That's another one of the exceptions to the release of investigative docs in FL - if a judge rules they should not be released then LE would simply not release them rather than black them out. I'm not positive that's what happened here but I think I remember a ruling on them that would exclude them from being released.

JB petitioned to block the release of photos and images from KC accounts, but the judge ruled they could be released.

Just a funny side note. I was reading some of the requests to FDLE from OCSO and the FDLE blacked out KC's license plate number from the Sunfire and then not two sentences later they forgot to black it out. I really had to chuckle. Especially since that plate number has been everywhere.

Graphic pictures do not meet that standard. So they are rarely released to the public. Phone numbers and addresses do not meet that standard so they are usually redacted in a document. However, when the media receives the documents in question from the Custodian of Records they usually have personal information already redacted.

However, in a case of this magnitude, the CoR is hard pressed to get the redacted documents out in a "timely manner" as is their duty so they sometimes are not as accurate as they could be. When there is information that is not redacted and should be then the media that receives the docs usually goes ahead and redacts before releasing it.

What happens here that I'm seeing is the papers and news media are wanting to be the first to put them in the public eye so they don't bother with redaction and ....well....there it is, for all the world to see.

True. The judge did rule against releasing the remains pics. Like you not sure if they would be incuded at all or incuded and redacted.

After thinking about it. I think Muzikman is correct. That they are GA's suicide notes.

Thanks for posting this. The document I saw didn't have the blacked out pages, nor the interview about KW trespassing near the school, or Casey's signed Miranda warning. I only saw beginning with KC's 14 Oct 2008 sheriff's vehicle ride statement (posted on WFTV.com. hmmmm.....
