Colorado City Police Chief Roy Owens this morning said they don't have anyone there, and they don't have contact information for where any of Hailey's immediate family is.

A large tank lid that had been placed over the remains overnight was lifted and placed to the side just after 8 a.m.

Owens said he has not been in contact with any of Dunn’s family members as of 9:20 a.m., but said he was going to return a call to her great aunt, who left a message at his office.

"I don’t have any contact information for the mother, or anyone else," he said. "We may be able to contact Haliey’s dad, Clint (Dunn). ... But I don’t know if he still lives here."

This case has gone on for a very long time, so please refresh my memory. Did Billie say in previous articles that she had fought with Hailey the night she went missing? I don't remember that.

I just found this and was confused.....

"Cheerleader Hailey disappeared on December 27, 2010, when she was 13 years old. She was last seen walking to a friend's house and was reported missing by her mum, Billie Jean Dunn, after she discovered that her daughter had not arrived."

"Dunn told police she had fought with Hailey the night she went missing."

Last night investigators used a steel oilfield storage tank lid manufactured by desert tanks to cover the scene. They just now lifted it with a crane to begin the investigation

Remember that right now Big Spring/Howard County is in 'control'... they have alerted the proper people to come in and there is a lot of activity connected to processing the scene. We have to be patient and let the dots get connected, in case this is Hailey. And if this should turn out to be someone else, a deeper mystery to solve.

On another note, I do not personally know what, if any, work Billie Dunn is doing, but her nursing license was reinstated, with conditions.

I can agree with you on this For The Kids!

I don't see any good reason for Billy to keep in touch with CCPD. In my opinion, this is way over their heads and the new chief seems to be fine with leaving it that way. I'm thrilled that he is staying put in Colorado City while the Feds take care of business.

IMO, Billy wants communication with the real investigators on the basis that Hailey is her child and the victim of a crime.

I also understand that FBI realizes that anything they tell her could be shared with their main suspect, Shawn. They can't afford to treat her as just the victim's mother since she is also the possible perp's current girlfriend.

The FBI and Texas Rangers know exactly where Billy is...she didn't run. Again, MOO since I have no official link to confirm.
