UPDATE 10:54 AM: CBS 7 Crews have just spotted John Young, Billie Jean Dunn's attorney at the scene.

UPDATE 10:06 AM: We are seeing signs that investigators are preparing to be on the scene for an extended period of time.

UPDATE 10:00 AM: Mitchell County Sheriff Patrick Toombs has arrived at the scene. The FBI Evidence Response Team Unit has also arrived and begun to investigate.

UPDATE 9:11 AM: BigCountryHomePage.com is reporting that one of the men who first discovered the body says that although the body was decomposed the remains of a hand appeared to belong to a child.

UPDATE 9:07 AM: We are hearing multiple reports that the body found in the Desert Tanks area of Big Spring has been identified as a girl. This has not been confirmed by officials.

We are also told that at the time of Hailey Dunn's disappearance the land Desert Tanks owns was owned by a company called American Limestone.

American Limestone is said to have not kept their gates locked and often left them open. Because the area was gated, investigators are said to have never searched the area after Dunn's disappearance.

I can agree with you on this For The Kids!

I don't see any good reason for Billy to keep in touch with CCPD. In my opinion, this is way over their heads and the new chief seems to be fine with leaving it that way. I'm thrilled that he is staying put in Colorado City while the Feds take care of business.
IMO, Billy wants communication with the real investigators on the basis that Hailey is her child and the victim of a crime.

I also understand that FBI realizes that anything they tell her could be shared with their main suspect, Shawn. They can't afford to treat her as just the victim's mother since she is also the possible perp's current girlfriend.

The FBI and Texas Rangers know exactly where Billy is...she didn't run. Again, MOO since I have no official link to confirm.

If this is Hailey I hope that Justice is served for Hailey's sake. This 'circus' went on long enough and there were too many clowns who just went on with their own lives without respecting Hailey.

Its not even just that. If it is Hailey and Hailey was moved from the house when Shawn went to work that morning it means that Billie lied about seeing Hailey that morning.Why would she do that?

This case has gone on for a very long time, so please refresh my memory. Did Billie say in previous articles that she had fought with Hailey the night she went missing? I don't remember that.

I just found this and was confused.....

"Cheerleader Hailey disappeared on December 27, 2010, when she was 13 years old. She was last seen walking to a friend's house and was reported missing by her mum, Billie Jean Dunn, after she discovered that her daughter had not arrived."

"Dunn told police she had fought with Hailey the night she went missing."

That might just be sloppy reporting. I don't remember her saying that exactly. She said everything was fine, IIRC. She did say that Hailey was supposed to stay home that day unless she called and asked to go anywhere. But I do not remember hearing they had a fight, and the wording is weird. Because there was no ' NIGHT she went missing.' She went missing at 3 pm and had not talked with Billie since the night before.

Young said law enforcement had not contacted the mother, who was last believed to be living in Travis County.

I know she's not an investigator but imo it sounds like she is not a missing child's mother in the dark of her fate either. I would expect most of them to be begging for updates and any info about whether it's their child or not instead of waiting for LE to come calling.

not sure if this has been mentioned but in one of the articles posted above, the one about the person finding the bones saying the hands looked to be the size of a child. the article said the bones were found about a mile from Shawn's mom's house? did i read that right? sorry was a comment made underneath that article...not in the article.

I have the feeling it was the night before when she went missing. That always made me wonder that she said that and then corrected herself. She knows when her daughter went missing and knows that LE just found her. A lot of things Billie has said are just creepy to me right now.
