UK Reports of multiple bodies being found in Cornwall.

From Daily Mail article posted above.
James Desborough, 39, of Lower Sticker, has been charged with his murder.

Desborough has since appeared before Bodmin Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before Truro Crown Court on August 8.

When asked 10 days ago about 'multiple bodies' in the search area, Devon and Cornwall Police said they were working to recover Mr Coleman's body and that forensic investigations of the site related to him.

Police are also investigating the discovery of the body of Lee Hockey, 50, who was found in woodland between Truro and Probus on July 1.

A third murder inquiry is under way following a fatal fire at a residential property in Newquay on July 22.

The body of a man in his 30s was found in the property and a 33-year-old man from Bolton was arrested on suspicion of murder.

I wonder if they think the man charged with Daniel's murder has been involved in others.
Perhaps the man charged has given police information which may or may not be accurate.

'Police have denied their own crime commissioner's claim that 'multiple bodies' had been found in a wood - insisting searches have only uncovered one.
Officers have been scouring Paramoor Woods near the Cornish village of Sticker for several months - aided by specialist teams from the National Crime Agency. ''

The National Crime Agency has been drafted in to help Devon and Cornwall Police scour Paramoor Woods outside the Cornish village of Sticker

''As you know there is a large crime scene that has been identified in Cornwall that is requiring a lot of effort to even scene guard the area.
'The level of expertise, some of the mutual aid we've brought in, is expertise in specific types of investigations that we didn't have.''

'I know there's been some information in the media. We've got a huge forensic tent down there.''
Surely the crime commissioner will be in big trouble if her comments are not true?

I think:

The Detective Superintendent is a high-ranking serving police officer.

The Crime Commissioner is an elected civilian. A bit like the mayor of that particular police force community.

Apologies if SOBO, just my understanding of it for anybody who is wondering.

Maybe I have an overactive imagination, but I wonder if they're sending out such mixed messages because they're trying to keep this on the quiet and the Police Commissioner lady missed the brief? Maybe it's a dumping ground for gangs or a serial killer so they want to keep the looky-lous and You Tubers away?

Pure speculation.

Who gave Alison Hernandez the information in the first place. She couldn't have pulled it out of thin air.

Agree, they understandably would want to keep people away, but another thought, a dark one, is that multiple might mean parts, iykwim, speculation.

That's where my mind went. Perhaps they won't comment on the number of bodies because maybe they aren't finding bodies. imo

This is why it's important to have a cohesive message. Imaginations will come up with scenarios.

Original Police News article. No date.

A man has been charged with murder after human remains believed to be those of a missing person were found in Sticker, Cornwall.

James Desborough, aged 39, of Old Oak Woods, Lower Sticker, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before magistrates sitting in Bodmin on Thursday 10 July.

Desborough is charged with the murder of 43-year-old Daniel Coleman [pictured], from St Austell, between 2 June and 7 July. Mr Coleman’s next-of-kin have been made aware of the development.

Specialist forensic officers are continuing to carry out enquiries at a site in Sticker as part of the investigation.

Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft said: “We are continuing with a forensic examination of the scene which is being carried out slowly and methodically.

“Our teams of officers and staff are being assisted by the National Crime Agency expert group and Home Office-approved scientists.

Will this be the work of a serial killer or is the place somewhere bodies have been dumped by several killers? At least some families are going to have some answers and get their loved ones back for burial.MY

I was thinking maybe organized crime or some sort of big gang deal, maybe a big big drug deal gone wrong but that is very very unlikely. let's just hope all the body's can be identified and bring closure to many familys. And of course that whoever is responsible for this will be brought to justice.

Two murder investigations have been launched in Cornwall after two bodies were found in separate woodland within 10 miles of each other.

The remains of Daniel Coleman, 43, were discovered in Paramoor Woods near the Cornish village of Sticker earlier this month, while the body of Lee Hockey, 50, was found in woodland between Truro and Probus on July 1.

Officers had been scouring Paramoor Woods for several months - aided by specialist teams from the National Crime Agency - when they found Mr Coleman’s remains.

We hope members of public understand that, for this reason, we cannot comment further on the defendant or the investigation.

‘I would also urge people not to speculate on this case, particularly on social media, and risk prejudicing these proceedings.

‘Publication of material which does so could lead to a criminal offence under the Contempt of Court Act.’

This is the area concerned. It looks as though Paramoor Woods is the area of woodland to the south of Sticker and east of Paramoor.

A police and crime commissioner has apologised for comments she made claiming multiple human remains had been found in woodland at the centre of a murder investigation.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the body of one man had been recovered from woods at Sticker, near St Austell, and no other remains had been found.

Devon and Cornwall's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Alison Hernandez told a live streamed meeting, external on Friday multiple bodies had been found - she has since apologised "for any alarm this may have caused".

The questions are now, how did she get the information about multiple remains in the first place, and why would she just willy-nilly run with it in such an alarming way?

Hernandez says she was 'not up to date with the facts of the investigation.' If that was the case, why make such an outrageous statement in the first place?

Exactly!
