Call me dense, but how are they sitting in the cockpit of their boat with 4 rescuers when their boat was sunk?
Did you notice the photo of Dad and daughter in the boat, w caption:

Is that a parent-child experience that could not play out anywhere other than their cross-Pacific cruise? (sarc) LOL.
P.S. As I read Mother's blog:
- two tiny kids, one sick.
- not equipped, prepared or experienced enough for voyage.
-mother cannot operate the boat,
-boat had mechanical problems before they set sail.
-they had virtually no open ocean experience.
-They lacked basic sanitary and safety measures on their boat (they had to jimmy rig, during the trip, straps to keep their kids from being thrown about, and to hold things in place and they washed their child's poly diapers in their food sink).
-mother was sea sick and miserable for most of the trip.
-mother believed such a trip was not a great idea until kids are out of diapers and much older.

IMO, they are pathologically immature, irresponsible, inexperienced, and self righteous, selfish, and entitled. They have made terrible choices for their children, IMO.
They deserve every single criticism of their foolish and immature choices, IMO.
I consider that their level of immaturity and irresponsibility rises to the level of child neglect. I do think DCF should be involved here. They clearly need outside evaluation and recommendations before they subject their minor tiny kids to their "adventure dreams" again, IMO. And I say this as someone who has lived all over the world, visited many countries, and now has a few kids. These are not "rational" adventurers. They are brash, irresponsible, and immature. Bad situation for tiny children. Their kids aren't middle schoolers or teens learning navigation and other lessons. They are kids in DIAPERS, with unique and fragile childhood needs. That they can't see this, or make excuses for their decisions, is inexcusable. They deserve all criticism, IMO.

Agreed based solely on washing poopy diapers in the food sink alone!!! This is how e-coli is spread, serious health hazard, and her kid wasn't over the bacteria infection- probably salmonella. That's not even taking into account the hazards of the open sea with these little ones, and their lack of play space, and the mother's selfishness in lying to her kids about the cake she made for herself.
BBM The cake! While one of the more seemingly benign incidents that occurred on board the Good Ship Lollypop (only considering all the other life threatening atrocities) the cake has struck such a negative chord with all of us.
With all of the sacrifices you were imposing upon your poor babies to live (or not) out your own selfish dreams, you couldn't give them one darn piece of cake? Not ONE BITE? You couldn't let those sick babies have one little moment of enjoyment? :notgood:

Children are growing all the time and while their bones are growing, it’s vitally important that they sleep on a mattress that provides the correct degree of support for their spines. As adults, we all know that sleeping on a cheap or well-used mattress is uncomfortable – and leads to a disturbed night’s sleep that leaves us feeling groggy and achy in the morning.
It’s the same for kids, with the added risk of stiffness and discomfort as their bodies are constantly changing. You really do need to make sure that you choose a good mattress that supports their growing bones during childhood.

No food in the fridge for the kids but she bought peas for Eric's sore sack and I see a bag from Victoria's Secret.
In the meantime, the kids are sleeping in a closet ... together.

So, mom and dad have a loft bed that is off limits to the girls. No chance for a scared child to climb into bed with mom and dad. No chance an ill child can snuggle there with them. Even looking at the leather furniture it seems to all be chairs. No where for these babies to cuddle up with mom and dad, all together.
If this was all they can afford then they could make it work. The back area where the 2 chairs are would be perfect for the girls room. In the photos with the closet door open it makes that space almost look like a seperate room. Hang a freaking set of curtains across there and tie them back during the day!!
Don't even get me started on the cake OR that empty fridge! I just want to make these two baby girls the most wonderful, princess style cake! All for them.
It makes me so very, very angry that these so called parents don't put the babies first.
