So I recently was astonished to learn about the open records laws in my state. Instead of guessing about these cases, I could actually read almost all of the cold case files. It costs money and is work, but I think it's necessary.
Reason: In my state, Wisconsin, there are 216 NaMus cases and 41 NCMEC cases. In Milwaukee alone, there are 540 open missing people cases. Total of Milwaukee missing person cases that are on these sites? 115 approximately. What about the rest?
Not the quick silver missing or minor missings that are cleared up, because those are removed from the number. The rest are simply open missing cases and are on no radar whatsoever. So I have determined to get the police reports of as many of these as I can. Not just Milwaukee, in fact I'm starting by asking Madison how many open missing persons cases they have.
