even though I have posted previously a quote from Jane's book, I agree that some of what she writes does not always compare accurately to the transcripts of messages between TA and JA. You have to read with a large grain of salt with almost any authors.

Interesting theory. I read something from a post here earlier today where Travis was pushing JA to reveal why she was so insistent he make the visit to her in Yreka. Perhaps he was getting nervous/suspicious? Also, if I was leery of an ex who had demonstrated some craziness in the past and who quite possibly hated me, I sure wouldn't want to travel alone with them to visit a place with the ominous-sounding name Crater Lake. The tape was not talked about much. I guess you cannot prove a negative. I look at it like the pedophile letters. They were a copy and were not allowed in because of that. The pictures were thumbnails. ONLY the sex photos.

She is not that smart. She got caught. But the evidence is there that she did a awful lot of premeditation.
She destroyed her hard drive, smashing it in half. Early reports show that it was repaired and some info was taken from it. That information was not allowed into evidence because Nurmi argued that it was impossible to tell what was missing and how it would change what they were able to recover.

Yet Nurmi was allowed to take snippets of text, emails and journal entries and not give a complete picture of the context. I would say that is pretty unfair. Then there was the sex tape where he only wanted to play the part where Travis was talking but that got blown out of the water and the whole thing had to be played.

Was there ever an explanation given on why she broke her hard drive?

Every time I hear her manifesto, I think about the Unabomber and we know how cra cra he was.

I am sure we will be able to read her manifesto once the trial is over.

And of course, there just had to be 6 of the 8 of her naked. Interesting that there were none of actual sex acts, because IIRC, didn't Flores tell CMJA that "he had proof they had sex that day?" Those aren't proof of sex IMO.

There are supposedly additional photos that were supposedly taken that day that were never made public. I wonder why not. And I wonder if they were shown to the jury and if not, why not.

Well, I didn't get back to writing last night. Let's see, Friday I went over to T-doggs for a while to clean. Shortly after, he went out to go rock climbing with Mimi Hall, their 3rd date. He said it went really well. I accidentally fell asleep so I was there when he returned. I was supposed to go 4 wheeling but I was exhausted and fell asleep.

It grieves him that they won’t stay out of it. … Eventually I’ll earn my ticket. TA will have Mimi on his arm and I’ll have my husband and we’ll all be happy

Wow, it’s tough to say no to TA. I stayed at his house the last two nights….did the dirty deed…feeling guilty. I feel bad for TA. She’s not showing a lot of interest and he says she’s probably the one…Yreka is like a 1000 miles away….He talked of us hooking up later when he travels up the coast

I think she found out a lot MORE about Mimi and TA's feelings about her when she read his journal on Jun 4. (the ones we've seen) She just wanted to make it "appear" as if TA had confided in her about the girls he was interested in. She had already hacked into his all of his social media accounts, read private FB messages, read all his emails, listened to his voice messages on his phone and etc...

Then when she was talking to Flores,

Yet in her journal entry on May 22, she writes about Mimi not being as interested in Travis as he was in her...So Jodi tells him, just give time????

I know he likes Mimi a ton and I now know that he was dating Lisa the whole time. Yet when I told him about John Dixon he was upset. I love TA and always will; his fiery temper doesn't mix with me crying at spilled milk but I still love him.

Unless she copied the pics from her SD to his? Wouldn't this have to been in the investigation of TAs laptop? :gaah: Now, you got me thinking.

JA initially did not think they helped her case as they clearly placed her at the scene of the crime -- a fact she had repeatedly denied under questioning.

But once they were 'undeleted' and couldn't be explained away, she admitted that she was there.


The sex and pics on June 4, 2008, were so obvious that neither the State nor the Defense ever disputed them at trial.

They are both death-penalty qualified. But there are two levels of qualification: lead counsel and co-counsel. I can't remember anymore which one of them is which (as between Nurmi and Wilmott). But co-counsel qualification is pretty easy to get.

IIRC, KN is the lead and JW co-. JW was a replacement for another attorney who was also DP qualified; it seems as though there are a lot of these out there. Presumably, one of the reasons KN couldn't ditch the JA case was that there aren't a whole lot of DP qualified attorneys who can do "lead."

Who would have taken that picture? It was only the two of them in the room.

If it was taken by some auto/timer setting, it is reasonable to assume other of the photos could have been taken by the same method. Possibly the ones of JA were selfies; TA could have been sleeping at the time as in the one or two of him pre-shower he looks to be sleeping or just waking up.

I'm thinking that Nurmi and Willmott are spending some time this weekend trying to figure out what to ask the Bishop on cross Monday. How do they think they will impeach him?

I notice that Juan kept his direct sweet and short. He didn't go into the Bishop's assessment of Travis as a person. I'm sure he could have and it more than likely would have been a positive impression.

I'd love to see N and W try to do just that and try to elicit some negative commentary about Travis' character. That isn't going to happen!

I am so looking forward to Dr. DeMarte on the stand, as I know we all are. So far, the defense has held JA's "mental illness" to be PTSD and possibly undiagnosed bi-polar. By the jury questions for Geffner, we know that someone on the panel is having difficulty with PTST, based on the testimony in this re-trial. Nobody asked about bi-polar.

I have a feeling Willmott will cross her again and try to best the doctor. That won't work, as she flubbered and flibbered around in the trial. She doesn't seem to learn from her mistakes.

It's going to be a fascinating week; that I know for sure.

I'm not sure there was a whole lot of discussion about bipolar. IIRC JA cites as a mitigating factor "borderline personality disorder." DeMarte was the one who came up with this diagnosis in the guilt-phase. The DT argued it away by claiming "domestic violence" and PTSD. JDM said mood swings can be a symptom of BPD. This time, I hope DeMarte ups the ante, either because it is permissible or she has more diagnostic information. "Psychopath" maybe?

I am really looking forward to hearing what Taylor Searle has to say on the stand. He's been on JM's witness list all along, but the number of things he can testify to in direct rebuttal grows longer and longer.

Taylor was perhaps TA's closest friend, someone TA could and did confide in about intimate relationship stuff. They were also business partners (not PPL).

He can testify about Travis' computer (he was the one who cleaned it of viruses), finances and relationships. Travis confided in him frequently about Lisa, Mimi, and the murderer. It was Taylor Travis texted after telling JA off in May, and Taylor who worried JA might retaliate and harm T.

And it was Taylor who on the night Travis was found dead showed a photo of JA to LE and told them unequivocally, this is who killed my friend.

I always wonder how often she pulled the ' I'm going to kill myself' routine w/Travis. I imagine this played into him caving in at times w/her antics and BS. Cause what ya gonna do??
